Dry hair

Dry hair is a woman’s nightmare! Your hair is your crowning glory and the way it looks greatly impacts your overall appearance. Therefore, who would want their strands to appear unhealthy and messy aka… (frizzy and dry hair)? In this article we will quickly discuss why dry hair occurs in the first place and 7 natural remedies to easily fix it.

Tips for Dry Hair: 7 Quick and Amazing Natural Solutions

What causes dry hair?

There are many known causes of dry hair that include: environmental factors, use of too much heat products and not having proper nutrition. However, here are some of the additional things that are giving you dry hair.

  • Your shampoo is just too strong. Shampoo can be drying since it gets rid of dirt and oils. If you wash your hair too much or have a very strong shampoo, even the natural oil that is needed to keep your hair and scalp moisturized is stripped off.
  • Excessive blow-drying. We must admit, at times it’s hard to think of ever living without a blow dryer. Nevertheless, it must be said that it has the ability to draw out moisture from your hair. Also, towels can make our hair frizzy, so try using an old t-shirt instead for drying your hair if you’re not really in a rush to dry your strands.
  • Excessive use of heated hair styling products such as straightening or a curling iron makes moisture evaporate away from your hair. Therefore, instead aim to use an ionic or ceramic type of heated hair care products and always use a hair protectant product before dealing with these hair tools.
  • Environmental factors also affect your hair such as humidity, strong winds, etc.
  • Chemical treatments such as perming, re-bonding, relaxing and coloring alter your hair’s ph balance and moisture.
  • Malnutrition
  • Family Genetics
  • Excessive soaking in a chlorinated swimming pool.
