Art Hearts Fashion LAFW Finale Recap

(Los Angeles)—It was an explosion of pioneering talent and ingenuity at Art Hearts Fashion LAFW finale night at the Taglyan Complex Thursday night sponsored by AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Wrapping the largest season to date with over 40 designers, the triumphant shows continue to lead the way for Fashion Week on the west coast. The Art Institutes of California brought a talented lineup of 13 student designers to make their debut on the runway. Designers Meraqi, Dunyah, Evana, and Adolfo Sanchez of CreativPR captivated the guests with breakout collections. The grand finale of the week brought designers Fernando Alberto, Mimi Tran and Rocky Gathercole together for an enthralling showcase of designs that defined the enchantment felt throughout the week. The star studded affair brought out celebrities throughout the week including: JoJo, Janice Dickinson, Jon Lovitz, Tristan Wilds, Terrell Owens, NFL Player James Anderson, Cory Feldman, Peter Madrigal, Jessica Parido, Phoebe Price, Michael Kuluva, Hazel-E of Love and Hip Hop, Chiqui Rivera, NFL Giants Player Myles White, Matt and Mark Harris of Storage Wars, Najee De-Tiege, Krista Keller Stodden of the Mother Daughter Project, Michelle Epps of Basketball Wives, Annie Ilonzeh of Empire, Host Amy Paffrath who walked for designer Jaime Elyse Couture, Cynthia Basinet, Colleen Shannon, Amber Smith, Angelica Bridges, Amanda Joy, Efren Ramirez, Renee Lawless, actresses Andrea Anders, Torri Anders, Tehmina Sunney, Vanessa Cloke, Phoebe Price, Mame Adje of ANTM, Drew Seeley and many more.

Art Institutes of California opened the Art Hearts Fashion LAFW finale night with a showcase featuring: Mildred Aroche, Anna V Bazhaeva, Brittney A Castillo, Elsie Delgado, Patrick Kevin Francisco, Joshua Maahs, Ninoska Navarro Rocha, Alena Sablan, Shanta Stevenson, Milan Stokes, Malik Vivian, Margaret Marie Ghallager, Nazeli Zeynalyan.

Meraqi took the runway opening the afternoon show with a collection of high end backpacks and travel bags. Deep earth tones set off the fine leather collection for both men and women. Dunyah brought a new menswear collection to the forefront blending modern streetwear with a clean sleek aesthetic. The fabrics range from natural earth tones mixed with a selection of premium lambskins and furs. Evana broke boundaries with pieces crafted with keen attention to detail, expressing a youthful yet sophisticated spirit. Rich colors and versatile structure enhanced the feminine shapes and textured fabrics. Designer Adolfo Sanchez showcased his latest collection “Light to Dark”, a new take on womenswear embracing soft and feminine looks. The materials are light-weight neoprene, muted colors, and romantic lace. As the collection grows it gravitates towards darker, stronger, more individualistic tone, featuring leather, wool and sexy silhouettes with hardware.

A performance by Anna Victoria delighted guests on the runway featuring designs by custom wardrobe celebrity designer Arman Morozov. Dance choreography was brought to you by celebrity choreographer Michael Silas.

Art Hearts Fashion LAFW finale showcase opened with designer Fernando Alberto debuting ‘The Royals’ collection. Fernando captures the essence of the modern woman in his ready-to-wear and bridal collections. The beauty of his craftsmanship transforms luxurious fabrics and textures into an exquisite design. Mimi Tran’s AW16 collection welcomed the introduction of silk, leather and Swarovski crystals, making for a versatile and wearable collection while maintaining the elegance signature to the brand. Stand out designs include the gold 3D custom made pieces of which each design has 150 Swarovski crystals hand beaded on to it. Art Hearts Fashion’s epic four day showcase closed out Fashion Week with a grand finale show by provocative avant garde designer Rocky Gathercole. Gold embellished bodysuits, metallic corsets, and impeccable fringe details made their way down the runway to a mesmerized audience. Guests were on their feet in a standing ovation as the extravagant designs sauntered down the runway bidding adieu to fashion week.

Art Hearts Fashion LA Day 2 Recap

(Los Angeles)—Now in full swing, Art Hearts Fashion LA day 2 of renowned fashion shows brought edge, bold prints, and playful silhouettes to Los Angeles at The Taglyan Complex. Sponsored by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Tuesday’s shows featured men and womenswear with a 6 designer showcase including: RESPONSIVE TEXTILES, Yhta’k Designs, Rene Tyler, Koco Blaq, Joshua Christensen, and Mister Triple X. Celebrities came out in style to support the designers and walk the red carpet including: Janice Dickenson, Colleen Shannon, Amber Smith, Angelica Bridges, Najee De-Tiege, Efren Ramirez, Phoebe Price, Sham Ibrahim, Amanda Joy and countless more. Supermodel Janice Dickenson made an epic return to the runway closing out the evening in Mister Triple X. Celebrity models Jimmy Q, Alex Minksy, ANTM Alumni Mame Adjei and Kiara Belen also walked the runway for Art Hearts Fashion founder Erik Rosete for Mister Triple X.

RESPONSIVE TEXTILES opened the showcase with their AW16 collection that explores the world of Fritz Lang’s silent film Metropolis (1927). With the stark drama that is characteristic of German Expressionism, this collection pays homage to the cinematic masterpiece. Next to the runway, Katherine Walker of Yhta’k Designs showcased a timeless collection in memory of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The edgy pieces combined lace, leather, and satin silhouettes. Rene Tyler launched their new eveningwear collection “Premiere”. Rene’ Tyler is a sophisticated brand that gives plus-size women glamorous, red carpet designs in sizes 14 and above. The “Premiere” collection offers women with curves an upscale, high fashion alternative.

Koco Blaq, presented the brand’s latest collection for Fall ’16 titled “Paradise Moana Collection”. The collection made a splash presenting a new tropical twist on its signature island-inspired line. Antonella Commatteo debuted an animalistic collection for men and women featuring an array of diverse fabrics and textures. The bold looks were accentuated by pops of color and unexpected lines. Joshua Christensen hit the runway with his FW16 collection titled, “Sugarcoated” – A menswear concept collection using lighthearted pastels and playful designs. Mister Triple X closed out Art Hearts Fashion LA day 2 with “X ColleXion” featuring the brands signature metallic and bold prints. The collection features Adam and Eve printed jackets, camo pants, and the signature feminine silhouettes that set Mister Triple X apart as one of the names to be reckoned with in the fashion industry. Supermodel Janice Dickinson closed the show returning to the runway as only the first supermodel could.

Art Hearts Fashion Redefines Runway

This season, Art Hearts Fashion transformed the landscape of fashion week here in Los Angeles with over 30 designers, 7 visual artists, and 1 very excited 11 year-old from Make-A-Wish. Embracing the power of art, fashion, and charity, Art Hearts Fashion sets itself apart as the fashion week that redefines what the runway can do for designers, brands, and the community.

During the epic 4 day event, charity shows, couture collections, kids shows, celebrities, and performers had Los Angeles on her toes. Fashion icon Sue Wong set the tone on opening night with her monumental, “Carnevale” 78 piece collection. Brands including Mister Triple X, Levitation Activewear, Koco Blaq, Lolly clothing, Aussie Gear, and Nicole Miller got the energy pumping throughout the week as bold patterns, shorts and swimsuits stole the shows.

The fan favorite kids shows opened with 11-year-old designer Noa Sorrell from Make-A-Wish. The colorful and patterned collection, designed by Noa while she underwent her treatment for cancer, elicited cheers from the audience. A Betsey Johnson 6 piece installation from the celebrated designer’s 50th Anniversary Collection stood tall on Tuesday, representing over a decade of fashion magic.

Stello Official took to the runway Wednesday night with an awe inspiring collection of sexiness that is everything guests love about the brand’s dark and playful edge. Art Hearts Fashion bid adieu to SS’16 with a closing night of couture this Thursday, October 8th. Celebrity designer Amato Haute Couture by Furne One had all eyes on the runway as french laces & tulle paired with stretch & acid washed denims made their way down a smoke layered runway.

(Los Angeles) Art Hearts Fashion, LA’s leading fashion event, will launch their first ever pop-up shop at the world famous candy store Sweet! Hollywood. Featuring a signature line of delectable chocolate bars and Sticky Candy, this will be the first ever pop-up dedicated to Los Angeles fashion. The pop-up will offer a special look at some of the innovative and groundbreaking designers hitting the runway this March. Specialty Art Hearts Fashion candy, treats and never-before-seen apparel will also be available and designers will be making appearances leading up to fashion week March 9th-12th at the Taglyan.

To launch the pop-up, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, charitable partner of Art Hearts Fashion, will host a gift wrapping station at Sweet! Hollywood from December 18-23rd.The special week of wrapping will kick off with a star studded event on Thursday, December 18th from 7PM to 9PM.  LA’s most talented designers famous for dressing stars including Beyonce, Arianna Grande, Lady Gaga, Shakira, Gwen Stefani, and all of your favorite celebrities, will put their own stylish spin on gift wrapping by dressing your presents! Surprise celebrity guests will also be gift wrapping this holiday season including breakout star Lisa D’Amato from America’s Next Top Model, Asia Monet Ray of Lifetime’sRaising Asia, Tess Broussard from Comedy Central and Stephen Bradley of No Doubt. Real elves will also be popping in to wrap your gifts and guests may even spot a sexy Santa or two! Customers will have a special chance to see pop up art exhibits by celebrity artists Sham Ibrahim & Josef Jasso and to take fun and flirty photos in the Fotopod Photobooth.The lucky guests will also receive an iTunes voucher for a free download for Pop Star Eryn Woods song “Wrap It Up”, her latest song written for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

LAFW kicks off with Day to Night at the W Hollywood

We attended the Day to Night Fashion Show that took place on October 10th 2014 at the W Hollywood. Day to Night brought this season’s ready-to-wear options centerstage, showcasing womenswear designs that encompass fun and easy daywear to stun-everyone-around-you eveningwear and everything in between.

Celebrities including the stars of Shahs of Sunset, Clippers player Deandre Jordan, NFL Wide receiver Dale Moss, and Alexis Bellino came out to in style to see the hottest collections saunter down the classic spiral staircase at the W Hollywood.

Shawl Dawls opened the event with a chic live installation showcasing the gorgeous ways their convertible shawl can transform any outfit. The installation featured Jeans by JHaus, and jewelry by Livre Brune. Photographers and guests were able to get up close to view the innovative designs.

Sea of Pearls closed the first half of the show with their California line of chic tees and tops. Paired with sequined shorts and sparkling floor length skirts, Sea of Pearls showed how their deliciously soft tops can be dressed up to the nines or dressed down with stylish flair. Superstar model Naima Mora of America’s Next Top Model walked in the show as a special treat for guests.

Denim innovator and ingenious designer JHaus presented a collection of American-made premium denim designs. The collection’s perfectly fit denim complements the body showcasing a feminine and confident edge.

Designer Bri Seeley closed the Day to Night show with a truly inspired collection showcasing the brand’s signature elegance. With this collection Bri Seeley takes her place among the top designers of her generation.

Day to Night partnered with Dress for Success who do incredible work for women all over the world. Susan Leibsohn of Dress for Success spoke to guests about the incredible work her organization is doing for women in the workplace.
