Every year one color reigns supreme over all others. Drum roll please… the Pantone 2017 Color of the Year Is Greenery! Yes, the tint that is blanketed throughout nature is a hue that you will see a lot of in the coming seasons. Why was this color chosen for 2017 and what do designers have to say?

Okay, so why this color? Regarding the selection Pantone said, “Greenery is the Pantone color of the year 2017 selection. [Its] a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose amid a complex social and political landscape.”

Very refreshing. Nevertheless, what about the fashion world? Are they down with the greenery hue? Yes they are to the one thousandth power! Gucci helped usher in the greenery tint during their spring/summer collection. The tint was fresh and gave off a very modern and contemporary feel.

Moreover, designer Christian Siriano enjoys the use of the vibrant shade. Explaining why he adores it he says, “My love of any green color comes from the idea of bringing the outdoors inside.” Therefore, if you have ever wanted to marry your love of nature with couture here is your chance.

Furthermore, brands are already rolling out the green hue products. Nail polish giant OPI just released to green polish colors.
