We always love when Tinseltown’s shining stars are recognized for their talents as well as amazing body of work. Nonetheless, we also love seeing these same outstanding stars looking good and feeling good! So then, lets celebrate with a little style talk. Tonight at the 2017 NAACP Image Awards the film Hidden Figures took home the award for Outstanding Motion Picture! Hidden Figures is by far one of the best movies of 2017 if not the entire decade. It has grossed over 100 million dollars in the U.S. box office alone and is now also the highest grossing Oscar nominated film. Therefore, much love and congrats to Octavia Spencer, Taraji P. Henson and Janelle Monae!

Literally, every one who is anyone made their way to the Roc Nation pre-Grammy Brunch for 2017. Rihanna, Justine Skye, Big Sean, P. Diddy, Remy Ma, Jesse Williams and Jhene Aiko were among the fabulous attendees. There were so many amazing photographed moments that social media erupted with several fun “caption this” postings. We will definitely fill you in all of that action in an upcoming feature.

Nevertheless, speaking of Rihanna, she looked gorgeous! RiRi certainly already has spring couture all dialed in and ready to go. We loved her vibrant ensemble which is from the Del Poza Spring 2017 Collection. Her OOTD possessed just the right amount of drama showcasing a tad bit of skin as well as long flowy design in the back.

Moreover, we also loved her fresh face makeup. Rihanna kept her makeup minimal but incorporated a nice pop of light color on her lips and eyes. The perfect way to create a youthful makeup look for day time events or lunches with the girls.

The Nicolas K Fall/Winter 2017 Runway Show beautifully fused together 90’s hip hop trends with modern style. Nevertheless, the inspiration behind the amazing collection has an even deeper meaning. Fashion’s rising duo is using their couture brand to start a revolution. One that they desire will give hope as well as power to the people.

Nicholas and Christopher Kunz are the genius masterminds behind the Nicholas K label. The brother and sister couture designers have been deeply affected by the politics of America. From the recent ban and administration changes Nicholas and Christopher began to feel as though things in America were going backwards.

Enter their Nicolas K Fall/Winter 2017 collection. First of all, it was important to the designers to show inclusion and diversity. For their NYFW show they made sure to cast models of all shades and tones. Next, they let their clothes do the rest of the talking.

The garments are a throw back to the golden era of hip hop, the 90s. Oversized coats, slouchy pants and a bold color palette (black, gold, red) brought the decade before the 2000’s back to the catwalk.

Also, the strong accessories gave the collection a very activist and rebel vibe. Models hit the catwalk in berets, humongous septum rings as well as earrings. The resulting look immediately made us think black panther and underground grunge.

As you can see Nicolas K definitely left their mark on NYFW and we can’t wait to future designs from the growing brand. Nevertheless, there’s more to see so keep your fashionable eyes on 1966 as we bring you the hottest moments of fashion week!

Where is baby Junie?! As much as we love seeing Teyana and her beautiful daughter out and about; it’s still nice to spot TT enjoying a night out on the town solo. Moreover, what better place to be than taking in the voguish designs of New York Fashion Week?

Day one of NY’s fashion week really kicked things off with a major bang. All the shows from morning till night were full of trendy surprises. Nonetheless, La Perla immediately got the crowd in an uproar right at the start. Hint: Involves a very famous supermodel and more on that later!

La Perla is well known for their luxe, glamorous lingerie. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that their attendees would possess the same vibes. Teyana Taylor awesomely fits the bill of sassy and chic.

Taylor’s OOTD for the show fell in line perfectly with La Perla’s Fall/Winter 2017 theme incorporating the beauty of florals. Teyana brought the fashion heat in a garment from the La Perla Spring 2017 collection.

She finished her look with a fur to stay warm in the snowy New York weather. Also, can we give it up one time for her vivacious and boisterous hair color! We love how the bold tint compliments her outfit and blends due to matching one of the shades found in the print of her gown. Moreover, the deep middle part and slanted cut add some sleek, modern edginess. Bravo!

The creation of amfAR came about to the unfortunate passing Hollywood actor, Rock Hudson. Hudson was the first well-known public figure to die of AIDS-related illness. Right before his death Rock donated $250,000 to help others in the future who might face a similiar health issue. His longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor used his donation in order to help establish amfAR.

Alrighty dolls, did you decide on your favorite look of the night? We know, we know it was behind tough! Nevertheless, it came down to a tie for us between Viola Davis, Kerry Washington and Taraji P. Henson. The white fashions from Davis and Washington were mesmerizing. Moreover, Kerry showcased the off the shoulder trend which is HUGE for 2017.

However, Taraji P. Henson showed up and dropped the mic. Her look was glamorous, sophisticated with heaps of whimsy! Like our princess days were filled with thoughts of gowns that closely resembled that of Henson’s. So then, eat your heart out Cinderella because this isn’t some stylish dream. You see Diggy doesn’t create designer fashions, he just rocks the heck out of them! His big fashion is definitely one for the books. People have their squads, tribes or a crew. However, the Dolce and Gabbana brand for their recent menswear runway show presented their DG millenials. The new crop of male models that are giving the fashion house a more exclusive look.

For his walk down the runway Simmons wore a black tailored jacket with floral accents. These details harmonized very well with his floral print pant. We loved the use of a bow tie which gave the ensemble even more character.

Nevertheless, it was refreshing to see florals apart of a fall/winter collection. Normally, we all are very familiar with seeing such a look during the spring season. Winter fashion tends to lean more toward the drab end of things with tones including dark blues, grays and black. However, this change of pace gives guys the opportunity and freedom to break the rules as well as experiment with not color but prints. Love this pairing great job Diggy you should do this more often!

Our favorite city, with our favorite backdrop… yeah this new Chanel ad is going to be pretty boss. Paris was spotted hitting fierce poses in the City of Lights back on January 18, 2017. Shooting took place near the famous Eiffel Tower.

The Chanel shoot immediately gives us Marilyn Monroe vibes. The whole gorgeous pin up doll times rallying the troops feel. Moreover, Jackson wore an array of fashions that included an all white ensemble that photographed like a dream. The complete look incorporated a belted high waist skirt, neck tie blouse and metallic shoes on top of socks. 2016 saw the return and invasion of socks and heels. Thus it looks like the voguish craze is carrying over into 2017 as well.

Nevertheless, the use of humongous and flashy accessories is what really caught our eye! Shoulder length earrings, layers of bracelets, chunky cuffs, plus satin and polka gloves. Uh yeah, count us in on that action!

Most importantly, Paris looked very happy. It is always wonderful when you get to do something you love. Congrats on the campaign girly and can’t wait to see more from you in the future.

The petite beauty wore the stylish Chemical Plant Overalls/Dungarees with yeti shoes. Moreover, she mixed retro with revision by opting to forgo a shirt.
