Let out your inner couture goddess dolls! The Chanel Cruise 2018 runway show oozed of luxurious flair rich in Grecian culture. Think exquisite draping, gladiator sandals, gold accents as well as wreathed, embellished headbands. Mr. Lagerfeld certainly captured the essence of Greece and brought it to Paris!

As a result, the entire collection is an ode to the grace and beauty of ancient Greece. Every piece as well as color palette tone was beautiful and fit the show’s overall theme.

Furthermore, what is a runway show without great hair? The Chanel Cruise 2018 collection’s hair looks nicely complimented the show’s couture. Tresses were pulled back into an effortless half up, half down style with the top portion being fashioned into a braid. Hair accessories additionally played a major role in making the hairstyle even more ethereal and extravagant. The results were so elegant and current they would be the perfect chic hairstyle for this season as well!

Several garments and pieces caught our eye but one accessory in particular made us swoon instantly. A gorgeously decorated black and gold hand bag with an owl made its glorious appearance during the show and although small, made quite a statement. In Greek mythology the owl represents Athena, known as being the goddess of wisdom. Thus making the bag quite fitting. Furthermore, being slight Clash of the Titans nerds we could not help but be reminded of all the films as well as their entertaining characters.

Nevertheless, the bag, the hair, the makeup and of course stunning designs made a deep impression and etched a moment into the fashion industry that shall never be forgotten. Chanel put on one amazing show that has us even more stylishly excited for 2018!

It was an electric night dedicated to the fight against the global AIDS epidemic. Many celebrities were on hand to show their support as well as honor those for their notable contributions. The creation of amfAR came about to the unfortunate passing Hollywood actor, Rock Hudson. Hudson was the first well-known public figure to die of AIDS-related illness. Right before his death Rock donated $250,000 to help others in the future who might face a similiar health issue. His longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor used his donation in order to help establish amfAR.

To raise funds there were quite a few art pieces up for grabs. Here are a few that caught our eye along with the cool story behind them:

“When it comes to the history of amfAR, there is a special place for the woman who helped start it all. Christopher Makos’ 1988 black and white portrait of amfAR Founding International Chairman Elizabeth Taylor on Malcolm Forbes is just one of the many works generously donated to be auctioned.”

Every year one color reigns supreme over all others. Drum roll please… the Pantone 2017 Color of the Year Is Greenery! Yes, the tint that is blanketed throughout nature is a hue that you will see a lot of in the coming seasons. Why was this color chosen for 2017 and what do designers have to say?

Okay, so why this color? Regarding the selection Pantone said, “Greenery is the Pantone color of the year 2017 selection. [Its] a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose amid a complex social and political landscape.”

Very refreshing. Nevertheless, what about the fashion world? Are they down with the greenery hue? Yes they are to the one thousandth power! Gucci helped usher in the greenery tint during their spring/summer collection. The tint was fresh and gave off a very modern and contemporary feel.

Moreover, designer Christian Siriano enjoys the use of the vibrant shade. Explaining why he adores it he says, “My love of any green color comes from the idea of bringing the outdoors inside.” Therefore, if you have ever wanted to marry your love of nature with couture here is your chance.

Furthermore, brands are already rolling out the green hue products. Nail polish giant OPI just released to green polish colors. Speaking on one of polishs OPI stated, “Be bright and powerful with Pantone’s shade of the year. Stock up on our Infinite Shine shade “To the Finish Lime” and stay on trend this season!”

This crisp, dramatic monochromatic campaign is a total 180 from some of the other recent Balmain campaign sightings. For instance, the Resort 2017 ad campaign is lusciously vibrant! From the fashions to the background setting everything just pops.

The Balmain Fall – Winter 2016 Ad Campaign though simplistic in a sense still plays on drama. In the shot West seems to be tipping over as Smalls reaches out with all her strength to try to prevent his fast approaching fate.

Olivier Rousteing describes the Fall – Winter campaign as “Music Meets Fashion.” Very fitting since an iconic musician and heavily sought after model were both casted.
