Even eight year olds have mastered contouring and the ultimate beat face. However, what about the rest of us? How can someone who hasn’t been blessed with steady hands beat the system? Well, there are several unconventional beauty methods that can be utilized in order to make your makeup application look just like Bey, flawless! Today, we are sharing the first of many, the plastic spoon.

Makeup Application Tip: Keep Things Less Messy With Plastic Spoon

Mascara can do wonders for your eyes but can get a little messy. Ever tried applying mascara to your bottom row of hairs? One issue that girls always talk about is the raccoon effect. Sometimes in an attempt to get those tiny hairs to submit and curl, application can lead to mascara transferring to skin under your eyes.

To prevent this beauty issue try using a plastic spoon during your next makeup application. Turn the spoon over so that the concave part will be facing your skin. Next, gently slide the spoon under your bottom lashes. Use the spoon as a shield then apply your mascara to your bottom lashes without getting on your face. Be careful not to go so high with the spoon that you risk poking an eye.

Nevertheless, with this simple trick you will be able to achieve a very clean, professional look. Moreover, you will also create lower lashes with more volume and fullness due to being able to apply a thicker coat of formula. Have fun ladies and here’s to cleaner makeup!

With glee Cipriana gushed about the L’Oreal campaign. She says, “I still can’t believe it! What a way to start off the New Year. So excited to be apart of the latest L’Oreal True Match Campaign which is being called one of the ‘most diverse beauty campaigns.’ Thank you to L’Oreal, the incredible team behind this campaign and all the inspiring individuals included. As a black woman I am excited for little girls/boys and young women/men to see diverse individuals they can identify with in the beauty industry. Showing their true self is true beauty and each and every one of us can look in the mirror and say, ‘Because I’m worth it.’

I have to admit I did shed a few tears when I had to say the classic line, ‘because you’re worth it’ during shooting. As a woman of color who had so many past struggles within the industry just to fight to simply be me. These struggles eventually led me to cofound Urban Bush Babes out of a strong passion to change the stereotypical standard of beauty and show true beauty is diversity.

Moreover, it is becoming even more sought after due to coming back “en vogue.” Models, Instagram socialites and renown mua (Makeup Artist) Pat Mcgrath are leading the fabulous sparkle charge. However, what happens once the fun and music ends? Removing glitter makeup after a night of slaying can be a real pain in the rump. Therefore, what is the method for easy glitter removal?

How to Remove Glitter Makeup

Shine bright like diamond… for hours and days. If you have ever attempted to wipe away or wash away sparkly eye or lip makeup you may have been in for a surprise. Yes, most likely a good 90 percent left your face, but the other 10 stayed around for the after party.

Easy removal begins with a good base. Before applying glittery eye or lip makeup be sure to swipe on a base of Vaseline first. Once your base is in place then you can get glitzy! Clean up any excess sparkly makeup using Scotch tape in order to give your eye or lips look a more clean finish.

Moreover, at the end of the night you can once again let Scotch tape come to your rescue. Use the tape to pick up any glitter bits. Now one might say, “Can’t I just use one of my trusty makeup removal wipes?” Oh you can but a wipe will most likely just move any particles around instead of wiping them up and away. So then, remember dolls use a good base as well as some tape and you can escape any glitter makeup removal issues.

For the big night Janelle Monae was glammed by celebrity MUA (makeup artist) Jessica P. Smalls. Smalls used a combination of CG products to create Monae’s finished look. Products include Covergirl’s newer mascara SoLashy that is designed to work on all lashes even those small, hard to curl hairs. Here is the makeup breakdown:

Lips

Use “Oh Sugar” Lip in Taffy for moisture as well as color.

Face

Sparingly apply Queen Collection All Day Flawless Foundation, and add Queen Collection Bronzer for a light, subtle glow.

In order to hide imperfections, use new Outlast All Day Concealer in “Deep.”

Brows

Borges is no stranger to L’Oreal skincare; she uses the products freely and shares the wealth with her girlfriends. Moreover, on Instagram Maria was seen using L’Oreal’s clay mask. However, there are some natural remedies that can help a sore throat turn in its resignation papers.

How to Relieve a Burning Sore Throat Naturally

You’re like, so salty. Yes, our dears salt and good ole H2O can be the savior of your sore throat. Why is gargling with a warm salt water mixture effective? It is because three things can be accomplished. The mixture can soothe, breakdown and kill.

Let’s explain that last statement real quick. Gargling can break down secretions, bring on a soothing effect to your throat and also kill any bacteria hanging out there. Furthermore, in addition to helping to keep the throat clean, gargling salt water can also help reduce swelling. Therefore, this is a great natural option to help heal a sore throat. Simply mix a half teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water, swish it around in your mouth, then gracefully spit it out.

Let off some steam. Steam is great because it can help make breathing easier (take that congestion) and bring relief to a sore throat that’s suffering due to dryness. The glow up for 2017 just got even easier. Maybelline developed a liquid product that is packed with more strobe than a disco. How can and should this product be utilized? Maybelline explained,

“Introducing one of our most anticipated products of 2017… Master Strobe liquid! This strobing liquid comes in three shades of glow. Mix it with your foundation or moisturizer for a luminous look or apply it on top as a stand alone blinding highlighter. In stores in the U.S. and Canada at the end of this month!”

So recap… this is one product that can give you luminous skin or act like the best highlighter in your beauty bag. Yippie! Furthermore, apparently we were not the only souls absolutely dying after this announcement. Many heard Maybelline’s call to beauty action and took to SM to share their two cents on the 2017 product.
