But we still wanted to focus on some of the fashion of yesterdays show. Their were a lot of hits this year but of course their were some misses. You be the judge what was your favorite look?

We thought it was going to be a night all about the guys but these ladies said not so fast! Jada Pinkett, Aisha Tyler and Garcelle Beauvais shutdown the red carpet on June 26, 2015 at the premiere of Magic Mike XXL. The star studded event was held in Hollywood, California at the infamous TCL aka Chinese Theater. The ladies wore gowns that showed a little leg and skin, but showcased their unique style.
Garcelle wore a white frock with cut-outs and gasp…POCKETS! We couldn’t believe our eyes at first for it seemed almost to good to be true. A sexy dress with a comfort feature for our keys, man sign us up!
Funny lady Aisha Tyler came out to support her girlfriend Jada and rocked a LBD (Little Black Dress). We loved the structured front panel of Tyler’s modern and elegant gown. She kept her accessories simplistic with a handbag, black heels and exotic ring.
We have been seeing the color yellow popping up quite a bit among the celebrity fold and Pinkett stunned in her own bold tinted dress. Jada looked exquisite in a gown from the Ermanno Scervino Pre-Fall 2015 collection. The magic may be Mike’s but these ladies surely enchanted us all last night!
Spring 2016 Menswear Givenchy has shut it down. First of all it was a breath of fresh air to see so many models of color at Givenchy’s runway collection. For some reason black models still …
Singer and DJ Solange Knowles was spotted looking fabulous while walking the streets of SOHO. Solange was in town in order to be in attendance for the NYC Pride and Kiehl’s Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015 event held in New York City. So then, what was Knowles wearing while taking part in celebrations on June 25th?
In world that believes that as time passes various fashion can fall into the “Oh that was so last season” category. Obviously, Solange did not receive that memo and neither does she care which is why she is a fashion risk-taker! Knowles was looking mellow yellow in an ensemble from the Harbison Fall 2013 collection. A bold move but shows that good fashion can never truly go out of style.
Yellow is a very bold tint but it is a shade that conveys happiness, joy and fun. Knowles has never been afraid to wear this boisterous shade and has rocked on numerous occasions. Just see for yourself and get inspired to give yellow a try!

Karen Walker Eyewear ‘Celebrate’ Campaign 2015. We all have much to celebrate as long as we are living, have air in our lungs and a place to live. Plus it’s Friday which just makes everything in the universe seem just right. So we are loving the new 2015 Eye-wear campaign “Celebrate” by Karen Walker. Their is so much exuberance in this campaign with the beautiful eye-wear, confetti and the smile that adorned model Nykhor Paul.
I’m really excited about P.O.V. aka Point of View, one of our new video series on the 1966 Magazine Youtube channel! Over the years, I have found myself becoming more and more addicted to heels. I love when you go out and people instantly notice and compliment on the pair of choice for the night. Shoes are all the way down at the bottom of an ensemble so for someone to notice the shoes most truly be making a statement.
With that being said, many will ask me what shoes I’m wearing or even say they are going to go cop themselves a pair. So for all of you who love a good heel as much as you do I hope you enjoy seeing my personal collection. Here is the first video showcasing my gold chain heels, probably one of the heels I wear the most. I love them because you can pair them with jeans, jumpsuits, dresses, the works and everything seems to instantly go up a few style notches. Whether you are aiming for classy or edgy these heels just seem to deliver.
Hope you like the video and don’t forget to like and subscribe! 🙂
Haider Ackermann Spring 2016 Menswear Collection. The men in this collection looked amazing in the different hues of blue. Haider decided to focus on trousers with a slight drop crotch, vest and draped outerwear cinched in at the waist. Usually that look could come off slightly feminine however he was still able to keep the masculinity of the mans true form. Some models that walked the show were South Sudan model Nykhor, Victor Ndigwe, Jackson Garbled, Yassine Rahal and Fernando Cabral.
Chanrnah Ellesse, LCM LFW FW!5, London Street Style Fashion.
No we are not talking about that saggy pants look from the gangsta music videos of old. Think wide leg pants and shirts a few sizes too big and then you are more in the ball park. Relaxed comfort is what most women aim for during this season and The Oversized Fit look can help get you there.
The London fashion scene has always been known for their forward thinking and modern take on couture. We love this look of a London local, Chanrnah Ellesse, showcasing how to pull off fashions that are not so well fitting. To really make this look work you have to remind onlookers that there is in fact a body in all of those clothes. Help yourself not get lost by showing a little skin and breaking up the color palette. Do not wear the same color from head to toe or you can risk resembling a giant skittle roaming the streets.
Moreover, have some fun with accessories to help add some pizzazz and panache. Incorporate a fun pair of shoes or a cool handbag or hair accessory to take things up a notch. The look is already exaggerated so there’s no need to go completely bananas but because it is not the norm you can add some amusing details.
Ever wonder how super-models choose to walk the streets fashion wise? Well, we spotted Joan Smalls in New York City posing it out during a quick photo shoot in Soho. The look was simple but very voguish thanks to sneakers, distressed denim and a white slightly tucked tee. Accessories were kept to a minimum with a chic watch and red fringe handbag.
Beauty Notes: Who says that you can’t or shouldn’t wear a dark lip during summer? Skip the makeup rules of lighter colors only during warmer months and wear a rebellious darker shade. Especially if you are wearing an edgy look like Joan the dark tint will add even more fierceness.
Joan’s look is a nice throwback to 90’s fashion that emerged from the grunge movement. So put on a little Nirvana (google if you must) and you will be sure to gain all the inspiration that you need!

From shirts to dresses and even accessories you can rock clothing that will let onlookers know what you are interested in and why. Therefore, have some fun this summer and represent!
