Celebrity makeup artist, AJ Crimson, is the innovator and creator behind a new line of cosmetics that is set to become the makeup of makeup artists the world over. We recently had the privilege of attending a mixer hosted by AJ Crimson and the good people over at Beauty Frends in regards to the new brand. We were instantly blown away during Crimson’s makeup demonstration. Here’s why:

*BB Cream and Foundation shades literally cover ALL skin tones. Many lines make this claim, but AJ’s makeup is bar none in this area. Whether your skin tone is closer to Tyra Banks or Alek Wek you will find the tint that matches you perfectly.

*You don’t need a whole bunch of products to highlight, contour or add color to your eyes and cheeks. You can just use AJ’s foundations to achieve a “beat” face.

*Used to having to set your makeup before you can walk away from the mirror? This step is no longer necessary, just apply and go.

*The model during the demo had tattoos and Crimson’s foundation made them disappear, like POOF, gone. Even up close you would never think any tattoos had previously been there (see picture below). Just think what that means if you are needing to cover some sort of blemish or acne. It will literally disappear before your eyes.

*You no longer have to look like a cake face to look flawless. AJ’s makeup ensures that you achieve a glowing, natural look.

An Le was born in Saigon and presently lives in NYC where he is owner of An Le Studio. Le has worked with publications: Vogue.it, Harper’s Bazaar Latin America and L’Officiel Singapore. It doesn’t have to be complicated to dress elegantly. Dressing elegantly means you don’t follow after the latest trends, but you dress in such a way that catches the eye of other people. In other words you dress with beauty and grace.

To get started, recognize that simplicity is crucial in order to dress elegantly. For instance wearing a solid color instead of a pattern is usually more simplistic, or perhaps wearing a modest sheath dress.

Another aspect to elegant dressing is knowing what works best for your body shape and type. Don’t buy something on sale that doesn’t flatter your appearance. If you have to pay a little more to look elegant it’s worth it.

Elegant dressing also involves having classic pieces in your wardrobe and jewelry. A little black dress, a pair of nude pumps, diamond stud earrings and a string of pearls are all examples of classic pieces.

Finally, a good handbag is a must to complete the elegant look. It doesn’t have to be a designer handbag, although those are nice. Look for handbags with clean lines and understated but still eye-catching. Diahann Carroll eat your heart out, now we can dress elegantly too!

Your wedding day is special and a lot of time is spent in planning it, but what about the honeymoon? You don’t want to neglect that important event either. If you want to go someplace beautiful and luxurious then New Zealand might just be the ticket.

There is The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs which sits on 6,000 beautiful acres and has some of the most spectacular views you could ever wish for. New Zealand also has plenty of natural hot springs thanks to the underwater volcanoes; you can dig a little pool and create your own personal hot spring.

Now here’s something that you normally don’t see in the realm of beauty. Noire tinted nails during the spring and summer seasons. Warmer months are usually characterized by lighter shades such as pastels and neon colors.

However, why not wear black during summer? Why must darker shades be relegated to the depths of wintertime? Well, the runway broke the mold this year as models were seen with various nail designs that included solid black nail polish. Personally, we love this rule breaking look it’s sassy, daring with a spoonful of mischievous fun. So then, never be afraid to dance to the beat of your own drum or paint your nails the color of your choosing. Seasons change, so why shouldn’t the rules of beauty also?
