vegan nail polish

Dear Diary… I had the AMAZING opportunity to try out a few colors by beauty company, Bess and Color; a DIVINE nail lacquer label who sells some of the BEST vegan nail polish around! First of all, I love the “wear time” of this particular brand. I do a lot of typing and things with my hands so it’s important to have a nail polish that doesn’t immediately give way to chipping.

Even with all my moving and shaking, I still got a good 5 days in before I noticed a slight change in the finish. By the way, that was with just two coats of color and just one coat of top coat. Fabulous!

Moreover, the color pay off is gorgeous! I’ll be the first to admit, when vegan nail polishes first came on the seen I didn’t really care for them. Being a nail fanatic, I didn’t think such polishes had the best formulas. HOWEVER, nowadays I’ve been eating my words and thoughts for breakfast, lunch and dinner (Lol).

The formulations for vegan polishes have not already improved, but they are some of the best out there. And Bess and Color is living proof of that fact. Nail polishes that look great, apply nicely, are safe for us and our furry friends; plus have a stunning finish.

Bess and Color’s Vegan Nail Polish-What Else Is There To Love?

Besides being vegan, there’s a ton to love about Bess and Color’s products. Moreover, just in case you are unsure what a vegan nail polish is… basically, it means that there are no animal-derived ingredients present in the formulation of a particular nail polish. Using animal-derived ingredients to formulate products is a form of animal cruelty.

No animal should have to suffer or be harmed in the name of beauty. Therefore, it’s nice to see a brand who cares and operates to avoid any cruelty. Some other key benefits to using B&C’s polishes is that they are:

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Made in the USA
  • 10 Free (Non-Toxic)

YES… You Read That Right, it’s a 10 Free Brand!

Your eyes did not deceive you… you read what you read honey! B&C is in fact, a nail polish company that has 10 free products. A VERY good thing, especially when it comes to your health.

For years, brands had made products with harmful, toxic ingredients. However, over the years a desire for cleaner, healthier ingredients became stronger among consumers. Ushering forth a major overhaul in the formulations of numerous makeup and beauty products.

To show how non-toxic a nail product is, brands using a number system. Bess and Color is a 10 Free brand meaning it is free of 10 major chemical ingredients. Most likely: polishes do not contain dibutyl phthalate, TPHP, toluene, xylene, ethyl tosylamide, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, parabens, and tert-butyl hydroperoxide.

So then, you can create with peace of mind knowing your health is not at risk. I know I surge enjoy using Bess and Color. Below, you can get a glimpse of 4 colors I tried out!

Bess & Color -I Tried Them Out

As mentioned each color is SUPER PIGMENTED, blessing your nails with serious color payoff in just one single stroke. One thing I will also share is that the brushes are good too… very good. I found each bottle’s brush to handle well and not leave a “streaky” finish. Each stroke looks smooth and professional.

But do note that these brushes pick up a lot of formula (which is good, there’s no struggling to get it out the bottle). So be sure to remove and tap the excess color back into the nail polish container before you get to painting. Otherwise, you’ll have a lot of nail paint going everywhere.

The colors that I played around with were:

  • J.L.W. – Brownish burnt orange nail polish inspired by classic leather.
  • The Yellow Tent– A true smiley face and lemon yellow polish.
  • Courtesan Au Chocolat – Gorgeous muted bubble gum pink.
  • Grand Budapest– Romantic and free, a true dusty rose nail polish.

Here’s a few pics of me having some fun with them:

I was very happy with the results each and every time. PLUS, I couldn’t believe the pretty, radiant shine these colors had! Nothing overpowering, just a nice overall natural looking sheen.
