Fashion Wrap-Up: FOX Summer TCA Party

As promised here is our fashion wrap up for the Fox Summer TCA Event. FOX threw an all star party which attendees included some of the hottest stars around. Included on the guest list was Empire’s leading lady Taraji P. Henson that stunned in a gown designed by Cushnie Et Ochs that she wore during a panel discussion (see above). Taraji’s glamorous look is straight from the runway and translates very well even off the catwalk.

Keke Palmer Heats Up FOX Summer TCA All-Star Party and Joe Jonas Private Event

It was business as usual in the fashion department this week for actress and talk show host KeKe Palmer. Palmer was spotted killing it this week at two separate events. The fashion forward starlet first attended a private event put on by singer Joe Jonas in which she wore an all-white ensemble. Keke showed some skin with the look thanks to a plunging view from her unbuttoned blouse.

Palmer next jetted over to the FOX Summer TCA All-Star Party where she was mean green. Palmer wore an emerald tinted sweater crop top with matching skirt with sexy side split. The night also included a panel discussion with her and her fellow Scream Queens cast.

If you are anything like us then you know the struggle of having to deal with any upcoming seasonal change. The shifting of clothes that will be stored so that other more fitting fashions will be able to be more accessible is a pain in that glorious body part we all sit on. Isn’t it so much easier ladies when we have versatile pieces that can withstand more than one season?

If you burst out with an Amen or Hallelujah trust us you are not alone in the least. We are always on the lookout for fashion pieces that have some serious lasting power! What is a couture trend that is hot now and will definitely work later?

The nude dress is a versatile little number that will still be turning heads come fall. The neutral tint allows it to be paired with other fashions if you need to “warm” things up a bit via a sweater, coat, cape, scarf or jacket.

Nerd, dork, geeky and so drop dead chic! In the days ruled by chalkboards and textbooks most ladies do not want to be known as quintessential “nerd.” However, geek chic style can still be fun, sophisticated and dare we say cool?

There are plenty of ways to allow your inner fashion nerd to escape and be free. Try incorporating a pair of stylish suspenders with a pleated skirt and button down shirt. Or, if you are a shoe fanatic ( it’s okay the first step is admittance LOL) pair your heels with socks and get to strutting your stuff. Moreover, you could also support your favorite comic character by rocking a tee with their image plastered all over it. Extra points if you plan on wearing top related to the Avengers or Wonder Woman. Nevertheless, there is one major accessory that most fashionista’s keep in their back pocket when they are ready be the chic geek.

To pull off this trendy look all a girl really needs is a fashionable pair of glasses. Take being called four eyes as a compliment, because girl you look great! Don’t worry about getting a pair with a prescription unless you need a little help in the eyesight department. A regular pair of bifocals will also not break the bank or set your wallet on fire making it a cheaper trend to indulge in freely.

Celebrities wear the geek chic trend more often than you think and not just to star-studded galas either! We have spotted nerd couture being worn by some of our favorite celebrity gals. Here are just a few:

See, whether you are going for a sophisticated and conservative or relaxed and edgy, a little nerdy flair can help to complete your look. Notice though for the most part the makeup on all the ladies was kept rather simple. With the exception of a pop of color via a red lip, a neutral makeup look will allow the focus to remain on the accessory (glasses). Moreover, let’s face it the glasses may hide all of your hard eye makeup work so if you want to add some beauty boldness it is best to pump up your lips instead.

Rihanna Has Her Own Pajama Party

Who of us wouldn’t to go to work in the most comfortable clothes we could find? Rihanna is hard at work creating hot new music and must of had that thought in mind. RiRi hit the studio super early in the morning in a cute pajama set.

Fashion stylists from around the world must of slightly cringed knowing they tell women to never leave the house to errands or anything in PJs. However, this is Rihanna people, she doesn’t have to stick to a certain set of fashion rules. Nevertheless, being that it was 3 in the morning can you really blame the doll? At least she looked hot doing it!

Rihanna is working on R8 the next studio album in line to be released. By the looks of her dedication to her craft the album shall be one we will be blasting in our cars over and over again. One last note on her recent studio ensemble, we love those furry heels!

Fashionable Mention: Keke Palmer Wearing Georges Chakra Fall 2015

There are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe the fierceness of this look! Comic Con was not ready for the heat that was Keke Palmer as she burned up the red carpet. Palmer was attending Entertainment Weekly’s Comic Con soirée when she made all heads go SWOOSH!

Palmer stepped out wearing a purple cut-out jumpsuit from the Georges Chakra Fall 2015 collection. If you look up the meaning behind the shade of purple you will find that it conveys,

“Wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur… [and] is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power and ambition.”

By that definition we have to agree that KeKe oozed of luxury and sass. With such royal appeal there is no wonder as to why she is a Scream Queen.

Beauty Notes: Women always seem to wonder is it okay to match one’s makeup to their ensemble? The answer is a resounding yes! Matching your beauty look to your outfit helps to pull the overall look together. Don’t know where to start or the rules for making the matchy-matchy makeup look work? Just take a page from KeKe and stick to matching one facial feature to your outfit. Palmer chose the lips and matched the lipstick shade with her jumpsuit and BOOM! A fashion and beauty goddess is born!

Zendaya Coleman was spotted this weekend in attendance for the 4th annual BeautyCon LA Festival. She wore a sexy ensemble from the Lie Sangbong Spring 2015 collection proving that baby girl has been all up in the gym! The light blue outfit was definitely a fresh breath of air and we could not get enough of the skirt! A pocket and asymmetrical design…yeah, you can pretty much count us in on that action.

Gabrielle Union Rocks Denim On Denim

Actress Gabrielle Union is one of the many celebrity sightings this week in NYC. Gabrielle was spotted leaving Milk Studios after taking part in a photo shoot. Union blessed The Big Apple with her fashion presence by rocking a trend that at times can be quite challenging to pull off. That trend is the denim on denim.

Women have worn long denim gowns or the denim suit with some successes or needing to be put on the worst dress list. However, Gabrielle is a sterling example on how to wear this trend correctly. Union matched the correct denim tint when it came to her skirt and top so that the rinses were not so far apart in shade. Also, by revealing a few touches of skin it helped to break up the monotony of the look. Her neutral accessories kept the outfit relaxed keeping the attention on the coolness of the jeans.

Yesterday, there were several sightings of songstress, Rihanna in New York City. For her first look RiRi rocked black tights, sneakers, Thrasher tee, snapback and Fenty necklace. RiRi had been doing a little body maintenance at Titan gym and was quietly exiting the building. See, isn’t comforting that celebrities have to put in the work for their hot bods too?

Rihanna kept her relaxed chic vibe going as night fell upon The Big Apple. Her nighttime ensemble consisted of green sweats, gray shirt, gold hoops, tennis shoes and another snapback.

So why was Rihanna on the streets of NYC this week? It looks like the singer is conducting a little business while she is there. Rihanna was meeting with world renown producer Timbaland at a studio.

Beauty Notes: Knowing how to compliment or marry your nail color with your makeup can be very easy. A simple way to not create a color clash is by matching your lip color to your nail color. For her look, Rihanna chose a gorgeous red and the tint pops!
