We think we can speak for everyone around the world when we say that we are all still upset that we don’t have real hoverboards. Heck, we thought we would all be flying around in high-end cars with our Chanel bags in the passenger by now. It just has not panned out. The ‘tomorrow-land ‘ we were all promised in a plethora of films and television shows seems to still be outside our grasp. Nevertheless, tech still is advancing. Companies are still clamoring to push boundaries and create that one product that screams “the future.” The good people over at Sony may be on to something. Not going to lie, it kind of makes our eyes hurt just thinking about it. However, we won’t focus on that because a camera in the eyeball has us on some Mission Impossible feels right now. Have you seen those movies? In the Mission Impossible films they went from using regular eyeglasses to relay images to just contact lenses in Rogue Nation. We are not sure if that is where the genesis of the idea came from but at least we understand what Sony is after.

Nevertheless, Sony isn’t going for a James Bond spy experience for its users. They want future wearers to enhance their regular day to day experiences. For instance, Serena Williams just got engaged. Imagine if both her and Alexis Ohanian had been wearing SONY contact lenses thus broadcasting that intimate moment live. Two feeds from two different perspectives that can be shared instantaneously.

This type of tech would completely blow up the social media spot. Snapchat and Instagram stories are already fan favorites. The secret is out, people love being little broadcast video producers of their personal lives. There’s no moment too small or too big that is not worth being shared. Moreover, when you tack on advanced tech the sharing element will only become easier.

With a regular camera the process is simple. Just point and click. Even two year olds now days can operate a smartphone cam with precision. Will the Sony contact lenses have the same ease?

As of now that is how it is looking. The contact lenses will have the capability to focus, control exposure as well as zoom in if necessary. Focusing on an image will be as simple as blinking. There’s still a lot of development left before these babies will be available and hit the market. However, we can see the money making potential.

The only down fall could be if the wait is excessively long. People may continue to wait anxiously for a Hoverboard but it doesn’t mean they will hold the same excitement for other tech. Case in point, this whole VR trend. In the 90s millions were ready for home use VR products. Every kid was sick of having to head to a mall to enjoy it. Fast forward to now and its now made possible thanks our cellies and a box on our head.

Projections for the sales of the Playstation VR was through the roof initially. The brand thought for the 2016 year they would rake in sales for at least 2.6 million units. Yet, after a figure update the firm drastically decreased their numbers. Playstation VR expected sales are now said to be less than 750,000 units. What was the problem? Simply put, time. An old idea that was great when it first came out, was revisited way too late.

At first glance the idea is a tech lovers dream. Record graduations, epic sports games, weddings, fashion shows and vacations without lugging bulky equipment. That is just the way of the land in the tech world. How small can we get things. That’s why we went from vinyl records to CDs, MP3 players, to iPods to an app called Spotify.

Smaller means simple. It means efficient. Heck, one day we may be texting using mind control thanks to a chip inserted into our heads. We just don’t know, we will have to wait until Cybernet reveals all.

Until then, we’ll just say on the flip side the Sony Contact Lenses could get a little dicey. We complain now about our privacy being invaded. Just wait until a live feed coming straight from your eyeballs is being monitored with all data being stored. How do you know when the lenses truly won’t be in use? As we said cool but scary. Instagram has done it yet again, adding a brand new feature in their latest update. What could be the worst nightmare of any girl on the Gram? How about the ability for people to power zoom into all your photos? The horror has begun, Instagram adds zoom capabilities in their most recent update.

As we sit checking out this new feature and sipping our cafe mochas we can’t help but think that stalking is about to go to a whole other level. Let’s face it everyone does it. We all have ended up on someone’s friend of a cousin second removed ex-boyfriend slash niece profile. Yet such researching has never allowed anyone to get a close range scope of a photo.

Now every zit, imperfection, fashion malfunction and over-edit will proudly be on display. Plus, we are sure the thirst will be at an all time high as users zoom in to get a better view of any lady bits. Also, shall we forget those who may wish to zoom in to see who all made up the squad, even the person all the way in the back.

Nevertheless, if you thought the addition of DMing was bad this feature should be a real riot. Just wait till some dude is up at 4 a.m. dissecting your lip shape. God speed dolls, god speed.

The fact that Instagram adds zoom to their app highlights a few things. One, they really know their consumer. They know there are those who are all over people’s pages and want to see every last detail. Also, IG recognizes they need to innovate to keep up with the big boys.

With Snapchat gaining more and more popularity Instagram has obviously felt the sting of competition. Moreover, that pinch is probably what led up to their kinda sad imitation of SC stories. Instagram Stories was met with buzz but many simply aren’t using it. Instagram started as a photo sharing app and it will die that way.

Jeez, that was morbid. Anyway, the point is IG wants to keep users guessing and on their toes. Its like when soda companies try out a new flavor. Its all done to keep consumers buying into their product and their products alone.

Instagram really does not need to worry about a single thing. We all love the freaking app. It’s fun, creative, a good way to market and a nice shot of confidence every now and then. All the additions and extras are not really necessary. How many times after there is an update you hear someone say, “Man, I miss the old Instagram!”

When it comes to the Gram we are all simple creatures. Apply makeup, select bomb outfit, set lighting, snap photo, filter and photoshop self till slightly still recognizable then post to stunt on all the Hoes (LOL). Well, maybe not all of that but you get the point. Happy zooming everyone.

One recent finding showed that those who clocked more hours than their love on social media made a big difference. Alright girls you can exhale. Their findings? They found that 40 percent of people who engage in using multiple emojis during conversations tend to be more frisky and go on on more dates.

The use of emojis shows that a person is fun, playful and has a sense of humor. Since texting, chats and DMs by themselves can be quite stale. Emojis liven up a convo with the quickness.

Hey when you’re proud you’re proud right? In this case naw, that is very wrong. We’ve all seen it. That one person who posts WCW and MCM like they have recently found out their love life was going to be chronicled by Disney.

Don’t overdo it when it comes to showing off your love. Sappy posts are fine, but it find yourself vomiting out post after post from your cell phone it may be time for self evaluation. Furthermore, researchers also suggest assessing your connection with your love bug as well.

Love is more than a hashtag, photo, like, comment or shoutout. Get into some of the retro practices like phone calls, dates with out phones present (put it in a purse or pocket) and saying the words, “I love you.” As nice as it is to shout to the world how much you love someone its even sweeter to be shown how much someone cares.

iPhone SE Announced To Be Released By Apple

Well, well, well it looks like the selfie gods finally decided to hear our prayers! If you have been gramming with the iPhone 6 or it’s even bigger sibling the iPhone 6 Plus you may have wondered if you have set yourself in line for developing a case of early arthritis. The 6’s came with a bigger screen (Yay!) but once you tacked on a protective phone case it seemed rather, you know… heavy. Apple may have noticed that the iPhone was on its way to looking like an iPad and went back in the lab to create a smaller iPhone that still possesses all the power we’ve become accustomed to, thus giving birth to the iPhone SE. iPhone SE will also comes with facetime app.

Yes gals, the iPhone SE is smaller which if you have small hands and have been dealing with the struggle of stretching your thumb beyond its natural reach to text you may want to look into this version. Or maybe trying to do that cute barely holding the phone finger pose in the mirror proved to be more difficult due to the volume button being much higher; once again you might want to check out the iPhone SE. So then, just how much smaller is the iPhone SE?

The size of this baby compares more to the length and girth of the iPhone 5. The phone will have a 4 inch screen and come complete with a 12 MP iSight camera. Apple also promises that the phone will operate like the iPhone 6s with faster LTE (thank you Yeesus), Voiceover and WIFI. Moreover, new microphones, 4K video, live photos and sick 63MP panorama photo taking will all be apart of the new iPhone tech picture.

The one thing we were most concerned about was also addressed. Apple also said that the iPhone SE will have “improved” battery life. If that truly is the case we are looking forward to running our IG, VSCO, Tumblr, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, camera and multiple Internet windows simultaneously. Lastly, we guess it would be a good thing to talk price right?

Prices seem to be a lot lower than we expected for an iPhone but you’ll still be shelling out a couple hundred for one. A 16GB SE will run you at least $399 while a 62GB will cost you just 100 more ($499). Get in your order early when pre-ordering begins on March 24th right before the actual phone release on March 31st.

Facebook Reactions Ends Awkward Social Moments

Facebook Reactions were released today and it marked the end of awkward social moments experienced on FB. Long gone is the indecision or thought process, “Should I like that?” If you ever felt weirded out liking a post regarding Aunt Edna’s passing or Fluff Fluff going to puppy heaven you can now rest at ease. Facebook Reactions has completely changed the social media game. That is, if you still even possess and use a FB account.

With the rise of Instagram and Snapchat it’s nice to see Facebook try to make interaction on FB more interesting again. Facebook Reactions are animated emojis that can be used instead of a thumbs up. How can you access them? If you’re on a desktop simply hover over the Like button with your pointer and they’ll pop up. However, like 90% of the rest of the world you’re most likely going to be mobile. In this case take that finger of yours and press/hold the Like button until the animations appear.

User reaction to Facebook Reactions has been mostly positive. However, some still felt slightly jilted. Hey Facebook where is the Dislike option?! That would be fun and potentially dangerous, but hey isn’t social media supposed to be a form of entertainment anyway?

Mark Zuckerberg released a statement to explain the move to add the animated emojis. You may feel free to check it out below as well as our other informative post on this site (wink,wink). Zuckerberg said:

“Today is our worldwide launch of Reactions — the new Like button with more ways to express yourself.

Not every moment you want to share is happy. Sometimes you want to share something sad or frustrating. People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the right way to do this with our team. One of my goals was to make it as simple as pressing and holding the Like button.

Love is the most popular reaction so far, which feels about right to me!”

In these modern times technology is all around us in order to make life easier and smoother. Often times, especially here in the states and our hometown Los Angeles we literally live in our cars. To get anywhere we need them and when weather is an issue we are glad to have wheels.

Nevertheless, as nice as zipping around town on fours is, having a phone seems to be the pinnacle of life. It’s the mode to have instant communication with friends or family, direction mapper, selfie taker, data analyst, document creator and list goes on and on. However, these two awesome inventions can prove to be deadly when combined.

Dun… Dun…. Dun! Well, it will only be a scary situation if you allow it to be. What some ladies and gentlemen are not aware of is that they are causing water damage to their phones while in their cars. How is this happening?

Have you ever gone through a drive thru and ordered a drink and put said drink in a cup holder? Most of us have its what the holder was designed to do. Moreover, once that drink has been finished you may toss it and place your phone in the very spot it the drink had been located. The leftover condensation from the drink can seep inside through the charger port and wreak havoc.

It is like taking your phone and dropping it in its own little pool. Keep your phone safe by waiting for your cup holder to be dry or use napkins to speed up the process. You may also consider finding a different spot in your ride for your phone to chill at while you man the controls. Therefore, be careful with how you treat your phone in your auto and live to take another selfie.

We use them every day of our lives and panic when only one bar of service is available. However, there is way more terrifying and disturbing details regarding these tech gadgets that will alter your way of doing things forever. Well, at least it should cause you to at least give it a little more thought. No fluff or lead-in to this subject ladies, let’s just get right to it. Here are 5 facts about smartphones that will change you forever:

1. It’s Like Putting a Public Restroom Toilet Seat to Your Head- Researchers have discovered that our precious phones contain 18 times more bacteria per square inch than an average toilet seat. The next time you experience an unexpected breakout your cellie may be to blame.

2. Oh Crud- From the outside everything may look fine but the inside may be a whole other story. The good thing is Apple knows how to design a phone that is very secure, the bad thing is it is so secure that crud gets stuck in the phone and never falls out. Cell phone repairmen report that when cleaning phones they have discovered food particles that have caked along with finger oils stuck around the home button.

3. That’s a Load of Cr*p- Hate to break it to you, but researchers also found fecal matter on a large amount of phones. Before you deny it, think about that time you had to see or check your FB, IG, Pins, Tumbles, Snaps, Vines and Tweet time lines while you sat upon your glorious throne. Yup… that’s how it got there.

4. More Transfers Than a Bank Account- Microbes or bacterium can be transferred from person to person due to their ability to survive for days on the surface of your phone.

5. It’s a Bug’s Life- This one freaked us out the most so we are going to say it then quickly put it out of our minds. Very, very tiny critters may be living it up inside of your smartphone because they like the warmth that it provides. They find their way inside by using the earphone jack or other little openings. Nevertheless, there are products that you can buy to help keep them out…yay.

Alright, so what can be done in order to protect the beauty from the smart phone? We need our phones so we are not just going to burn them and live a life of phone celibacy. The key is all about maintaining a clean smartphone, there is no way around it. Keep your phone clean by wiping it down with antibacterial wipes and don’t forget to wash your hands. Moreover, be mindful where you are setting your phone down, aim to place it in an area that is not sketchy. Always think about if you would be willing to press your phone against your face if you laid your cell down in a particular area. If the thought of the face press scares you more than Friday the 13th then do not set your phone down in that area at any cost.

Snapchat Updates App Loses Best Friends Feature

Scrolling through twitter has been an hilarious hour of amazing comedic filled tweets. Snapchatters welcomed a new update this week to help them “Discover” editorial pieces as well as no longer have the ability to stalk friends and loved ones. Snapchat’s blog in regards to the Discover feature mentioned,

“Snapchat Discover is a new way to explore Stories from different editorial teams. It’s the result of collaboration with world-class leaders in media to build a storytelling format that puts the narrative first. This is not social media.” So then, it looks like Snapchat has figured out a way to commercialize the app without being overbearing. If you want to see extra media driven content there is a special button that you can hit. If you rather not see additional stories from outside sources can just ignore the button and snap away like normal.

Now back to the stalking (LOL). Users used to be able to see who others were snapping with the most due to Snapchat’s Best Friends feature. However, this newest update seems to have completely deleted this aspect from the app. Thousands took to Twitter with tweets ranging from girlfriends freaking out about their guys possibly cheating to guys celebrating their new found freedom to snap any and all females without consequences.

Videos, memes and photoshopped greatness captured the social media frenzy. A couple of our favorite tweets included:

“so mad that they have got rid of bestfriends of snapchat.. when im talking to a hot boy i want my friends to know.”

“DON’T UPDATE SNAPCHAT ITS A TRAP”

“Plot twist: snap chat will show everyone’s best friends again in a week, giving everyone enough time to screw themselves over”

Yikes on that last one, but have no fear Snapchatters this fun component will soon make its way back onto the app. Evan Spiegel also took to twitter and said,”

“We’ll bring back BFs soon. A few higher-profile friends wanted to keep their usernames private – we’ll come up with a better way to do that.”

So then, have fun with your snaps because now you are completely private and anonymous to the world. Best Friends will back before we all know it, no doubt just in time to catch some interesting revelations on our friend’s list (HaHa).

Tech News: Uber Partners With Spotify

The cab service know as Uber, has just announced their partnership with popular music app, Spotify. Riders will now have the ability to play their favorite jams through the cab’s sound system. This new feature is only currently available in certain markets such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and London. Uber’s CEO, Travis Kalanick mentions that this move is the first time the company has aimed to personalize the experience inside of the taxi. It seems in the tech world reinvention is the only way for brands to survive and looks like the taxi world is feeling the same pinch.
