Editor’s Pick: Zoya Naturel Satins

Zoya Naturel Satins

Do not be fooled, nails are no longer second fiddle when it comes to expressing fashion and style. Therefore, keep your overall look and ensemble chic by polishing up your nail act. Zoya’s second collection for spring 2015 is our Editor’s pick this week for nail beautification because these tints will give your nails a luxe, satin-y finish. These polishes fall somewhere in-between a glossy and matte finish. The Naturel Satins collection includes 6 new neutral nail polish shades named: Leah, sage, Rowan, Brittany, Tove and Ana.

Beauty Tips: The Zoya Naturel Satins collection is not meant to be a top coat; to achieve the best look first prep nails with a strengthening nail polish remover then apply 2 coats of the nail shade of choice.

Spring 2015 Fashion Week Nail Inspiration: Chains

Spring 2015 Fashion Week Nail Inspiration Chains

Every season it seems as though nail designs are becoming more and more detailed as well as heavily embellished. Case in point, the nail art and manicures that were created for the The Blonds Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show. Manicurists were told to freely create and they did not disappoint!

Nail designs included stripes, bold colors, roses and even corset inspired styles. One that stood out to us incorporated chains and a different nail shape that has become popular. While nails recently have been shaped into pointy tips, seeing longer length with squared tips was quite refreshing.

Would you wear a nail design that includes chains? Join the discussion on our Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr or tweet us @1966magazine.

Zoya Ultra PixieDust Fall 2014 Collection

Zoya Ultra PixieDust Fall 2014 Collection

Being the glitter queen that I am I had to do a quick write up in the behalf of Zoya. I just wanted to thank them for understanding my need to sparkle and shine (LOL). Zoya has released a collection of glitter-tastic nail lacquers named Arianna (hey now! I’m Arianne), Oswin and Noir.

The mini collection’s colors fall in the red and plum families. I’m absolutely in love and can’t wait to add them all to my ever-growing nail polish collection. Want to get your hands on the Zoya Ultra PixieDust Fall 2014 Collection as well? Order yours now online by going to zoya.com. Happy painting!

Beauty Tip: Did you know that if you have chipped nails you can easily fix them with glitter? Just add a layer of glitter polish on top and the chipping will be disguised as a chic nail design. Shhhh…no one will know but you!

Nail Trend Autumn/Winter 2014: Metallics and Gray

nail trend fall winter 2014

If you are searching for a nail color to test out this season you may opt for a tint in the gray family or metallics. Metallic shades are a great way to add some extra bling to your nail look, especially if you are not so proficient at adding jewels or other embellishments to your nail designs. Moreover, a shade of gray will help give off the same feel just in a more muted fashion.

Cool Nails! Degen Fall/Winter 2014

Cool Nails Degen Fall-Winter 2014

It’s an old adage that fall and winter fashions have to be drab, dark colors. Spice things up a bit this season by incorporating bright, bold shades even in your nail designs. Designer Lindsay Degen teamed up with OPI in order to create a nail design to complement her fun, colorful fashions that even included reflective fabrics as well as knitwear. The Look: Cloud blue skies with a rainbow accent nail. Cute!

Black Nails Summer 2014

Black Nails Summer 2014

Now here’s something that you normally don’t see in the realm of beauty. Noire tinted nails during the spring and summer seasons. Warmer months are usually characterized by lighter shades such as pastels and neon colors.

However, why not wear black during summer? Why must darker shades be relegated to the depths of wintertime? Well, the runway broke the mold this year as models were seen with various nail designs that included solid black nail polish. Personally, we love this rule breaking look it’s sassy, daring with a spoonful of mischievous fun. So then, never be afraid to dance to the beat of your own drum or paint your nails the color of your choosing. Seasons change, so why shouldn’t the rules of beauty also?

What do you think of this summer nail trend, will you wear it?
