Kerry Washington Named OPI’s First Creative Ambassador For 2016

Kerry Washington Named OPI's First Creative Ambassador For 2016

Actress Kerry Washington has some big beauty news today! For 2016 Kerry Washington has been named the Creative Ambassador of the highly successive nail lacquer brand, OPI. This is the first time that the brand has had an ambassador position which makes this beauty move even more momentous.

Kerry Washington has used her fashionable and trendy style before when the Scandal inspired couture line was launched. Also, since 2013 Kerry has been a creative consultant for Neutrogena. Now Washington is bringing her chic influence to the OPI family. For 2016 Kerry will be designing her own nail polish collection incollaboration with OPI Creative Director, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, which will no doubt fly off the shelves. Therefore, if any ladies out there have hopes of reflecting Olivia Pope into their personal style next year you will get your chance!

For a few days now fans have been weighing in on Washington’s inking a deal with OPI. Here are just a few of their comments:

OMG!

We need a shopping trip!

Our two favorite things!! Kerry and OPI

Wanna guess what I just added to my Christmas list? Haha

Listen this here is going to be epic. I can’t wait to see the collections that’s gonna come out of this partnership. Great move OPI

Kerry Washington herself has had some thoughts on her new beauty job. Washington by all accounts seems happy to be and excited on getting her creative juices flowing in order to create some timeless nail shades. Kerry stated,

“This is going to be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to testing out new colors on the red carpet. The fun, for me, is that nail lives in the crossover space between fashion and beauty. I love to play with nail color on the red carpet and explore new shades.”

Editor’s Pick: Best Silver Nail Polish! Morgan Taylor in Chain Reaction

Editor's Pick Best Silver Nail Polish! Morgan Taylor in Chain Reaction

For a little over a year I hunted in the wild aka the beauty supply store and searched for the perfect metallic nail lacquer. I had seen a chrome steel look on Tumblr and I just had to recreate it, only problem is most silvery nail polishes fall way short of the dream. I’ve bought products in the past only to begin painting with a color that was either too thin in formula thus needing excessive layering or once applied noticing it is nothing more than a clear polish with specks of glitter.

Therefore, was I now doomed to walk the earth without ever locating a nail product worthy of giving me a strong metallic design? I almost thought that until I came across a tint from the Morgan Taylor collection. I took one look at Chain Reaction and my eyes popped out like I was a Disney Goofy character. I did my best to control my excitement just so I could give Morgan Taylor’s shade a closer examination. Of course, before purchasing I reviewed the swatches and by the look of things the polish seemed as though it would dry with a nice subtle yet luminous finish.

So then, I thought why not, I’ve given so many other products a shot. Boy was I shocked over not just the finished look but the small amount of formula needed to achieve it. Two thin coats per nail was all that was necessary and as with most glittery nail polishes Chain Reaction dried quickly! Here is a video of a few more reasons why Morgan Taylor Chain Reaction is a winner.

2015 Spring Runway Nails Trend: Sheer Nude

2015 Spring Runway Nails Trend Sheer Nude

If you are looking for a classy and very expensive looking manicure style for spring as well as summer you should consider trying out a sheer nude look. Sheer nude nails were spotted during runway shows for Lela Rose and Nanette Lepore. How can you get this look?

First, apply a base coat or foundation that has a very creamy look and feel to it. Doing this will help to magically even out or minimize any imperfections found on the nail bed. Now with this one step your look can be complete but if you are the type of lady that likes a little more oomph then on a select few nails add a little bling. For the Lela Rose fashion show little pearl-like studs were delicately placed on select nails which added a very chic flair!

Being the glitter queen that I am I had to do a quick write up in the behalf of Zoya. I just wanted to thank them for understanding my need to sparkle and shine (LOL). Zoya has released a collection of glitter-tastic nail lacquers named Arianna (hey now! I’m Arianne), Oswin and Noir.

The mini collection’s colors fall in the red and plum families. I’m absolutely in love and can’t wait to add them all to my ever-growing nail polish collection. Nail Trend Autumn/Winter 2014: Metallics and Gray

nail trend fall winter 2014

If you are searching for a nail color to test out this season you may opt for a tint in the gray family or metallics. Metallic shades are a great way to add some extra bling to your nail look, especially if you are not so proficient at adding jewels or other embellishments to your nail designs. Moreover, a shade of gray will help give off the same feel just in a more muted fashion.
