Revisited: How to Remove Hair Dye Stains From Skin

We received a lot of response in regards to a previous post that delved into how to remove dye once it’s come into contact with skin. If you have ever experienced or encountered this situation you already know that it is not any fun. You can rinse yourself silly and the hair dye will remain right where it’s landed.

Last time, we had mentioned that using toothpaste can help to resolve this hair color issue. If you do decide to take the toothpaste route make sure that you are using a non-gel form. Nevertheless, we mentioned that this topic is being revisited, so what new light can be shed on this topic?

Recently, we did a little testing with the baking soda method. We had heard about it through a hair care professional but was still skeptical. Therefore, we decided to do a quick experiment to put our skepticism to rest once and for all.

During our experiment we focused on removing hair color stains that had attached themselves around the hairline as if you had forgot to apply Vaseline in order to stop the dye from running. We combined baking soda and dish detergent and stirred until the two ingredients formed a paste. The paste was then vigorously brushed onto the hair color skin stains using a toothbrush.

What was the results of the baking soda method? The hair color stains were removed proving that this hair fix truly is effective. The skin was left clean appearing as though no stain had been there before. Now we will say that we had to seriously put some elbow into it but the baking soda & dish detergent did their jobs.

Summer Fashion That Works For Fall: Off The Shoulder Top

Buying essentials that can last more than one season will not only make your wallet fatter, but will make styling much simpler. One piece that will still be good to go come fall is the off the shoulder blouse. Right now this top is most likely being paired with short-shorts or a mini due to the heat. Nevertheless, once the temperature starts to fall some only a few tweaks will be necessary to transform the look for autumn.

Denim will never fail you when it comes to rocking this top. Jeans are the perfect vehicle to make your off shoulder tops fall ready. Keep things causal yet sexy thanks to the hints of skin.

If you want to make your look a little more dressy try pairing your off shoulder top with a pencil skirt. Curves will be instantly noticeable driving the sassy appeal meter upwards. Add a side split for even more head turning appeal.

As it it gets colder most feel its impossible to display curves like they once did in the summer heat. Combat this by wearing your top with high-waisted pants which will give a sexier illusion without being too exposed.

Whoever said you couldn’t wear white after Labor Day didn’t know how to have some fashion fun! Yes, even after the holiday ends white pants and an off shoulder top is oh tres’ chic!

Growing up in California you quickly learn that there is no such thing as fall LOL it’s still hot! So for those of us you leave in warmer climates continue to wear those shorts by try wearing a pair with embellishment. Also, if you want to infuse some Cali flair into your ensemble, tie a side knot in your off the shoulder top and you will fit right in.

Get Your Man Right: GQ Mag’s Fall/Winter 2015 Fashion Editorial

If Bae would like a little advice as to how to look like he just walked out of the Monte Carlo with Agent 007 showing him the sights ( tell him that, he’ll love it), then there is a special GQ issue he’ll enjoy flipping through. Gift your man with GQ’s September issue which includes a nifty fashion editorial highlighting the best of men’s fall/winter 2015 couture. The editorial includes designs by Armani, Gucci, Boss and Prada just to name a few.

Some of the looks that we took note of were by Boss, Ralph Lauren and Versace. Boss and Ralph Lauren both showcase models wearing a turtleneck top and tailored jacket. This is perfect for the guy that does not always like to wear a tie or just has a hard time matching them to his suits. The guesswork and stress of coordinating is eliminated and a guy still gets to keep the sauve factor going.

Nevertheless, Versace had us talking over our cups of coffee due to the boldness of putting a man in a fur. If your man has a boisterous personality and doesn’t mind taking fashion risks then this look will bring out his style passion. Fashion Wrap-Up: FOX Summer TCA Party

As promised here is our fashion wrap up for the Fox Summer TCA Event. FOX threw an all star party which attendees included some of the hottest stars around. Included on the guest list was Empire’s leading lady Taraji P. Henson that stunned in a gown designed by Cushnie Et Ochs that she wore during a panel discussion (see above). Taraji’s glamorous look is straight from the runway and translates very well even off the catwalk.

Summer is the time when the pedicure as well as sandal reigns supreme. However, nothing can kill a look faster than a pair of dry, callous and cracked feet. During the season dry feet may occur due to the area you live in, lots of walking or the heat of the day is literally sucking out any moisture. Nevertheless, showing your feet a little attention and love can get them looking fabulous!

Next time you notice a change in the condition of your feet for the worse try giving them a good soak or “bath.” Mix one cup of honey in a gallon of water and allow your feet to hang out there for fifteen minutes. Doing this treatment will help to bring back needed moisture into your skin. We all need water to live and if we try to go without consuming it within days we would perish. Moreover, there are many beauty benefits that come from drinking the daily recommended amount of H2O. Beauty experts agree that drinking 8 glasses of water will keep your body healthy and your skin glowing.

However, the scary part is the kind of water that most city dwellers have available to them. Most tap water is filled with various impurities and some can even cause cancer. Well, what’s a girl to do to be able to get her daily intake of water in without causing other health problems?

Some have turned to bottled water, but is that truly the answer? Unless, you have hundreds of extra dough available to spend on a yearly basis that may not be the best route. Instead buying a device to filter your water could be a more suitable choice.

Beauty Answer: Oh girl yes it is perfectly fine! We do not know when it became the “In” thing to dictate when and how a particular tint or shade should be worn. Makeup is all about self expression and enhancing your gorgeous natural features. What happens if your facial structure just seems to pop when wearing darker shades? Are you just supposed to forgo a certain color all season long just because its not deemed a right seasonal tint?

Hopefully you answered a resounding no because dark lipstick is not just for the colder months. To take it a step farther the orange lip showed up on fall/winter runways several seasons back. Yes, orange a very bright, boisterous shade that is usually deemed more of a spring/summer color. Therefore, do not pigeon hole yourself because various shades can be worn all year long.

One last example before we get to some dark lip beauty inspiration. Red lipstick is worn by women regardless whether it is summer, winter, fall or spring. Yet, how many times do we see that red is THE color for spring or THE color for winter. Which is it, what time of year does red look best? Every color looks its best when it is worn by a confident woman who is happily rocking her look. Nevertheless, when a certain color becomes more popular and seen from the runway to the streets, then that is most likely when it will be honored with the trendy tag.

Cosmetics and is called “Hardcore” most likely because that is what you will look like after you apply it. We checked and this shade is back in stock but should act fast because they go fast!

For years women with darker skin tones were fed the beauty myth that they could not wear a nude lip. Why had this been the case? A number of reasons came into play a couple being there wasn’t much on the market in terms of tints that would make for a great nude lip look and also some felt that a lipstick wouldn’t cover a two-toned pucker.

Many women who are considered dark skin possess lips that have two different tones. Usually the upper lip is darker than the bottom lip. However, is this a valid reason to give up the nude lip look or a cop out?

We have said once and we will say it again, dark skin women CAN wear nude lips. When picking the perfect shade there are now plenty of options available to create a fabulous beauty look. Moreover, do not worry yourself with finding a shade that matches your skin perfectly, that is not necessary. Nevertheless, do you really want your lips to seem like they disappeared completely off your face?

Bobbi Brown, MAC and Revlon all have stunning brown shades that make nude lips a cinch. Remember though when it comes to applying nude lipstick your lips need to be pristine. No flakes or dead skin because it WILL show and your lips will have a very bumpy appearance. Always exfoliate your lips, buffing them gently with a toothbrush then apply a lip balm. Your lip shade will go on smoothly making your nude lips that much more alluring!

Beauty Answer: As much as we would like to say all scrubs are harmless and do exactly what they advertise the truth is we cannot. Like many products its not the idea behind the product that’s bad, it’s what is in it. Do you know what is in your favorite facial scrub?

We always recommend taking a closer look at the ingredients contained in your beauty products. These days it is not always wise to simply grab anything off the beauty aisle before taking a deeper look into things. Speaking of deep the whole reason why women use facial scrubs is to deep cleanse their skin. In order for this deeper cleansing to take place a coarse texture is needed to exfoliate the skin which involves the removal of dead skin cells.

Nevertheless, many mainstream products contain jagged particles made from walnut or apricot seeds. At first, that could sound quite harmless, safe and all natural. However, those particles do not cleanse skin but rather cause tiny incisions in your skin. The little bitty cuts may not be noticeable, but they are big enough to allow bacteria to seep in and wreck havoc.

What could be the result from these tiny skin tears? Such cuts could lead to inflammation, redness and yikes… more blemishes! Therefore, it is important to only use products that contain ingredients that are safe and nourish skin.
