MAC cosmetics is always on the front lines of makeup innovation and their newest collection and ad truly highlight that fact. We sincerely hope that your makeup look for today lives long and prospers. Or at the very least, stays put perfectly in place for the next 12 hours. Nevertheless, our reason for the pop culture quote is due to something far grander… that is, if you are nerdy, trendy, a film buff, perhaps from another dimension or just simply a beauty fanatic like us. Cosmetics brand MAC has announced they are teaming up with Star Trek in order to design and release a MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Collection!
If you have ever dreamed of snatching up the beauty look worn by Lieutenant Uhura (played by Nichelle Nichols as well as Zoe Saldana) then you are about to be awakened to a very cool reality. MAC promises to develop a collection that fully captures the essence of the long-running television show and films. In regards to the MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Collection, MAC stated,
“Spanning half a century, [Star Trek] and its loyal fans cross generations, influencing ideas and aesthetics of gender, race and intergalactic potential. You are not alone, try Iman’s Moisturizing Lipstick in Flirtatious to get your pink fix without all the dryness.
Beauty Tips: Remember that bright lip color will not hide ANYTHING. Don’t skip out on any prep work in order to make your lips look absolutely divine. If your lips look lumpy due to dead skin it will be quite noticeable. Therefore, buff those lips smooth before any tint application to prevent this dreaded and often feared beauty issue.

Nude Lips For Dark Skin Women
For years women with darker skin tones were fed the beauty myth that they could not wear a nude lip. Why had this been the case? A number of reasons came into play a couple being there wasn’t much on the market in terms of tints that would make for a great nude lip look and also some felt that a lipstick wouldn’t cover a two-toned pucker.
Many women who are considered dark skin possess lips that have two different tones. Usually the upper lip is darker than the bottom lip. However, is this a valid reason to give up the nude lip look or a cop out?
We have said once and we will say it again, dark skin women CAN wear nude lips. When picking the perfect shade there are now plenty of options available to create a fabulous beauty look. Moreover, do not worry yourself with finding a shade that matches your skin perfectly, that is not necessary. Nevertheless, do you really want your lips to seem like they disappeared completely off your face?
Bobbi Brown, MAC and Revlon all have stunning brown shades that make nude lips a cinch. Remember though when it comes to applying nude lipstick your lips need to be pristine. No flakes or dead skin because it WILL show and your lips will have a very bumpy appearance. Always exfoliate your lips, buffing them gently with a toothbrush then apply a lip balm. Your lip shade will go on smoothly making your nude lips that much more alluring!

Spotted: Beyonce in NYC Getting Her MAC On!
Yesterday evening the one and only Queen Bey was spotted walking the streets of New York City in head-to-toe black. She looked chic in an asymmetrical cut-out dress, pointed toe heels and leather jacket. As we mentioned in a post last year wear your jackets like a cardigan to up the style factor. Come on, no diva or fashionista really needs to put her arms through sleeves anymore! That’s like SO 2013 (LOL) we have progressed people! (HaHa).
Let’s move down to the feet area for just a moment. Bey accessorized her ensemble with an ankle bracelet, that was not over-powering but enough to make a delicate statement. Ankle bracelets are trending and be sure to look out for our future post of some of our current favorite styles!
Nevertheless, didn’t we say that Beyonce was getting her MAC on? Well, she definitely was showing why she is a boss lady and say it with us… HUSTLER, by toting a silver Apple Macbook. We are sure that Apple is salivating over these shots as her legions of fans are probably currently burning their PCs in order to make the switch. Okay, you know our humor none of the sort is happening or maybe it’s just cool to see celebrities using the same products that we do!
Hey question! What do you think of Bey’s look, loving or hating? Let us know…
Giambattista Valli’s Dress Your Lips Collaboration With MAC Cosmetics
Paris-based designer Giambattista Valli will be releasing a fresh lip color collection in collaboration with makeup powerhouse M.A.C. Cosmetics. In regards to the much anticipated release, Valli says,
“I’m very well known for dresses, no? And I thought it was very nice, the idea of dressing your lips… For a creative person, collaborating can be frustrating because you feel that you’re limited or stuck within someone else’s ideas, but with MAC it was 100 percent freedom and 100 percent support just to make my idea become a reality, to pull out my flowers and my sense and my emotion and put it into the color.”
Well, we are totally stoked about this collection and can’t wait to try out the various tints and shades. Colors in the M.A.C. Giambattista collection range from very light pinks to deep purples and plums. Therefore, what type of lady would this collection work for the most?
Giambattista Valli dished,
“The best thing about makeup is that a lipstick can really change your look. If you never wear color on your lips and then one day you wear red, everyone just goes ‘wow! I made these for a woman with personality, a woman who lives her life and isn’t afraid to wear color and isn’t afraid to kiss!”
