Nia Long Named First African American Spokesperson For White Diamonds Perfume
We heard this one and had to take a spritz in honor of the lovely Nia Long! Nia has become the first African American spokesperson for White Diamonds, the wildly popular fragrance made famous by Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor. Long has been a fixture in film both in front as well as behind the camera. Talented, beautiful and now leaving she is leaving her mark in the beauty world as well.
Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds perfume not only made women feel strong and sexy, but helped a good cause. While alive proceeds from the White Diamonds fragrance benefited the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Congratulations Nia and to quote Rihanna, “Shine bright like a diamond!”
Zoe Saldana Wears Monique Lhuillier to David Letterman
Zoe Saldana wore a sexy LBD (Little Black Dress) to a taping for Late Show with David Letterman. Her dress showcased her cute baby bump and the mommy-to-be even gave herself some height with some stunning pointed toe Jimmy Choo stilettos! We thought her heels jazzed up her ensemble just enough without being over-bearing. Shoes should compliment, not scream out their presence.
Beauty Mention: Rouge G De Guerlain Summer 2014 Lipsticks
Needing a new lip color to mesmerize the masses? The Rouge G De Guerlain Summer 2014 collection has exactly what any diva is looking for! Like several other collections you win some and lose some. Meaning some of the shades are here to stay while others are only for this season. The collection brings on 5 permanent tints as well as 2 limited edition colors.
What we also love is the lipstick’s overall formula. There are plenty of lipsticks on the market that can be quite drying, not this collection. Your lips will stay smooth and kissable thanks to the product’s hydrating and smoothing properties.
White Eyeliner Summer Beauty Trend 2014
We know this is going to be tough, but we are going to ask anyway…please put down the black eyeliner. Whew, okay that wasn’t as bad as we thought! Of course, you can use whatever color eyeliner you fancy, but this season white is the new black.
This hue will be able to make your eyes pop for all your onlookers. We have seen this look on the runway and on celebrities such as Eva from ANTM. We love this makeup trend and feel that it gives off a nice retro yet modern vibe. So then, if you are looking to update your look just a little it is as simple as a switch in color.
Esalon-Revolutionizing the Home Hair Color Market, One Woman at a Time
Not since the “Miss Clairol” home hair color kit debuted in 1956, has a company revolutionized the industry like startup eSalon.com – by delivering custom, salon color to a client’s door, for less than they would tip a colorist!
Other brands can use all the adjectives in the world to describe their mass-produced, boxed color. They’re still mass produced. Each bottle of eSalon pigment, unlike pre-mixed box brands, is individually blended for clients based on their personal hair profile. Clients are asked about gray percentage, skin tone, eye color, color history, and more, to create the most flattering shade.
eSalon’s color crew of experts analyse clients’ details and create custom formulations from an unlimited number of color options—which clients are guaranteed to love. Their quality hair color and proprietary mixing technology ensure a perfect match every time. The color is bottled, labeled with the client’s name (because it’s made for them and no one else), and delivered within days.
eSalon was founded in 2010 by Francisco Gimenez, visionary e-commerce entrepreneur, and is backed by Tamim Mourad, Cory Rosenberg and Omar Mourad. They were the team behind PriceGrabber.com, the pioneer price-comparison site acquired by Experian in 2005. The group partnered with Estelle Baumhauer, international master colorist and now eSalon’s Color Director, to develop the line.
Baumhauer, who has over 20 years’ experience at prestige salons around the world, brings an artistic perspective and a superb sense of fashion to her work. “It is exciting for me to make great professional color available to all women, not just to women of means,” Baumhauer adds.
Experiencing phenomenal growth since its creation four years ago, eSalon has shipped nearly one million hair color applications, and expanded into Canada and the United Kingdom. “Until now a woman’s only options were to spend $100 or more in a salon, or face endless aisles of mediocre drugstore color. We’ve turned the color market on its head and are excited about our continued success and confirmation of our vision,” Gimenez said.
eSalon has gained national attention from leading publications, including Entrepreneur, Wall Street Journal, Good Housekeeping and Lucky; won “Best of the Web” by InStyle and Total Beauty’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best Hair Color in 2013 and 2014.

Common Relaxer Hair Mistake
One common mistake many women make when relaxing their hair is not removing the chemicals from their tresses properly. Letting such harsh elements remain in and on your locks could result in damage. After chemically treating your hair you must neutralize it to stop the process from continuing.
It is very important to remove all of the relaxer from your locks to avoid causing hair breakage. Pay special attention to the neck and nape areas. How often should you wait to perform your next perm treatment? Unless you have a shorter hair length you should wait between 6-12 weeks before receiving your next relaxer.
Beauty Myth: Sleeping on Your Side Causes Wrinkles
Beauty Quickie: This myth is actually true…burying your face in your pillow may not be the best idea. Sleeping on your side for extended amounts of time can cause wrinkles to form around your peepers prematurely. So if you are trying to get your hands on the fountain of youth you can start by sleeping on your back. It may feel funny at first, but trust your face will literally thank you later.
