The return of Darkyonce was everything we wanted, hoped for and dreamt of. Yes, Beyoncé is a beautiful woman, but we would be completely lying if we said we didn’t love her with darker toned hair.
For a couple of decades now, Bey has become known for several signature things…observe:

and of course, blonde tresses.
In the hairstyle department… It doesn’t matter if her strands have been short, long, curly or straight. The constant of her look has consistently been to be a blonde.

So then, where did the return of dark hair Beyoncé occur? The singer and her hip hop mogul husband, Jay Z, were spotted at a Houston Rockets game. The couple sat court side catching plenty of fan and camera attention.
Beyoncé wore an eye-popping ensemble by Marine Serre. Instantly, her “moon” printed leggings became a couture hot topic. While most of us rock a pair between $20-$50; Queen Bey did it up! She hit the scene in the Marine Serre Women’s Moon-Print Footed Leggings in Black which retails for… wait for it… $515.
Yes, that was just the price of the Queen’s leggings. Oh us peasants (Lol). Nevertheless, if it’s been a good month and you’d like to splurge on Beyoncé’s leggings you can find them online at Barney’s New York.
However, we digress. This posting is supposed to be about hair. You see, we love Beyoncé with darker hair because it we believe it brings out her beautiful features. Her eyes, cheeks and skin tone just seem to pop more.
We’re glad she brought it back after a long dark hair sighting drought. How long she’ll keep it remains to be seen. Nonetheless, it’s a great look that can’t be ignored. Welcome back Darkyonce we missed you!

These awful folks have been following and spreading their harmful lies for the last few months. Worst part, is that Instagram has done absolutely nothing about it. These scammers are still roaming free looking for their next victim.
However, YOU do not have to be a casualty and get conned out of your coins. All you have to do is be aware of what’s going on; and be sure not to get involved with such people, ads or accounts. What signs should you look for?
Scam on Instagram: Wig Scammers, Fake Ads and Fake Hair Accounts
Influencer Brittanie Evans laid it all out on the table in order to protect her fans as well as other hair enthusiasts. She says,
“Seriously, Instagram! I see so many hair stylist, wig makers; and wig review videos STOLEN and used to scam people out of their money — on Instagram! Every day, I am followed by dozens and dozens of fake hair pages. All with the same photos and stolen pictures.
I have seen ads where they will crop the video and put their fake business name or steal a review video; and say the hair is theirs. I mean, sometimes they don’t even care if the video has another business name on it. They will steal it and advertise its their wig for $20. Then you read the comments and all the women are complaining that they ordered and they received a fake shiny Party City wig.
It’s beyond ridiculous. I report every fake ad and page that I see but there are so many and more with every scroll. These fake pages have even purchased comments and likes to further scam you into thinking they are real. AND if that doesn’t work, they have gone so far to create an account to advertise another “fake” account in the stolen ad video comments. IT”S CRAZY! I am so sick of this. Do something about it, Instagram!”

As one can see, there is some major foul play going on the Gram. Plus, with lace front wigs and extensions being so trendy, that leaves a lot of women vulnerable to being taken advantage of and suffering a hair “L.”
Nevertheless, as Brittanie stated, while online you have to be very mindful of stolen images, fake users and fake comments. So far these scams are still very prevalent on Instagram so BEWARE. Watch out for yourself and your fellow girlfriend; so that you can keep your cash instead of getting sent some fake trash.

They had strength during times when we (you know what I mean) weren’t acknowledged for our talents and creations but set pride aside and did what needed to be done to support their family. And honey child I am here to say I got all that in my DNA. 3 generations… different eras.. similar challenges; [and] all good people. I wish they were here today so I could thank them at least; for passing it down to me. Forever grateful.”
Last thing we wanted to know was Mason’s thoughts on the long held black hair question, “What really does it mean to have ‘natural’ hair?” There are so many opinions out there. However, many do not realize being natural does not necessarily refer to hair being curly or coily.

Therefore, this subject is something we felt a professional view would be cool to have. So then, what does hair stylist, Rachel Mason have to say about it? Rachel states,
“Okay, so I want to make clear what going natural means. It means cutting out any and all chemical services to your hair. No color. No highlights. No relaxers. No perms. Virgin hair.
Easy enough right? I mentioned previously that I was going natural. I am. I am just going through something called a transition stage. You can cut it all off and rock a cute fade if it fits you to do so; rock a TWA or just cut the hair that is chemically treated and start there.
This is MY transition look and I chose to gradually go natural. I like to curl it, press it out or set it on some rods. I personally like the ability to change my hair when I feel like it and not be stuck with one look. I used to be like that once upon a time.
[However] very soon I will be completely natural, free of chemical or have virgin hair. But don’t be surprised if you see some color later down the line for summer! Here’s the thing ladies if you want to do it, do it! Make sure you do it for you and do it right. With that kind of work load sometimes the best one can do is throw their hair in a pony or topknot and call it a day. As a side note, you might also want to try alligator hair clips!
Alexander pulls from this business aspect and translates it into a smooth, sophisticated hairstyle. The model’s in the runway show tresses were pulled back with the front kept super slick. After that the now signature silver AW clip was added into the hair mix.

“This just in the claw clip is back. Redken Global Creative Director, Guido Palau, placed sleek ponytails in sliver clips at Alexander Wang as a nod to the 80s. Guido used Satinwear 04 to blow dry the hair; smoothed hair back with Mess Around 10, and set styles with Forceful 23.”
Hair Notes: One other cool thing we observed about this hair look is the use of double clips. Two AW silver clips were used for the models that had thicker or longer strands. This is a neat trick for curly girls who would like to try this out, but have a lot of volume. By utilizing multiple accessories this style can still be achieved.
