Biopic of Aretha Franklin With Singer/Actress Jennifer Hudson

Biopic of Aretha Franklin With Singer Actress Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson has had us emotionally charged in a good way for years whether she is on the big screen or during her fantastic live performances. Who can forget her amazing talents seen in the musical film Dreamgirls? Moreover, her chillingly touching tribute to Whitney Houston singing I Will Always Love You left one and all in a fog of entertainment bliss and adoration. It is clear… Jennifer Hudson has the gift of moving us through her use of music.

Nevertheless, it seems that the Oscar winner might once again engage in yet another musical project. This time it is in order to portray the legend herself, The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin! We are hoping that Hudson gets the role nod because she definitely has the chops to pull off Franklin’s one of a kind voice. Really, what other singer than Jennifer Hudson could effortlessly belt out R-E-S-P-E-C-T?

If given the role, could this mean another Academy Award for Jennifer? There is a very good chance because biopics on the famous tend to garnish much attention during award season. Think Will Smith in Ali, Angela Bassett in What’s Love Got to Do with It, Denzel Washington in Malcolm X and Jamie Fox in Ray. This is exciting news and we can’t wait to see the finished Aretha Franklin project on the big screen.
