The word “obsessed” only somewhat describes the feeling that we have towards the newest additions to The Nudes Collection by Louboutin. A designer brand has at last recognized the fact that nude is not one-dimensional. It is fashion color staple that should come in a variety shades to fit the numerous tones of women from around the world.

The Nudes Collection by Louboutin is paving the way for more diversity in shoe wear. The ground-breaking collection is almost like looking at art. Whether you focus on one particular detail or the overall picture it is just simply beautiful. No woman is left behind or out of the picture. Regarding the collection Louboutin mentioned,

“A nude for every woman. This spring, two new hues join our Nudes collection to create a spectrum of seven suited to any skin tone, from porcelain to deep chocolate… Constructed from soft, flexible matte nappa leather, our new nudes mimic the feeling of skin, allowing the shoe to nearly disappear on the leg.”

The Nudes Collection by Louboutin is amazing but brings to mind a few questions. What designs are apart of the luxury line and how much will it cost to own a pair or two? Black Beauty: MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Collection

We sincerely hope that your makeup look for today lives long and prospers. Or at the very least, stays put perfectly in place for the next 12 hours. Nevertheless, our reason for the pop culture quote is due to something far grander… that is, if you are nerdy, trendy, a film buff, perhaps from another dimension or just simply a beauty fanatic like us. Cosmetics brand MAC has announced they are teaming up with Star Trek in order to design and release a MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Collection!

If you have ever dreamed of snatching up the beauty look worn by Lieutenant Uhura (played by Nichelle Nichols as well as Zoe Saldana) then you are about to be awakened to a very cool reality. MAC promises to develop a collection that fully captures the essence of the long-running television show and films. In regards to the MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Collection, MAC stated,

“Spanning half a century, [Star Trek] and its loyal fans cross generations, influencing ideas and aesthetics of gender, race and intergalactic potential. As the sci-fi saga continues, MAC and Star Trek’s latest cinema generation join forces in an exclusive makeup collaboration of cosmically charged hues.”

Sounds to us like a makeup collection of epic proportions! Fans and beauty lovers can anticipate the release of the MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Collection sometime this September. Nevertheless, there is one small catch to all this awesome news. The Star Trek x MAC collaboration will only be available in select markets. Therefore, if you are wanting to get your hands on this collection you still have time to pray that the makeup gods answer your humble cosmetic prayers and bring the fun line to a mall or beauty store near you.

Liya Kebede and Imaan Hammam For Vogue Italia April 2016

Iconic photographer Patrick Marchelier has once more created a stunning editorial for the Vogue Italia April 2016 edition. Color can be the spice of life, however, there is something majestic about classic, sophisticated black and white imagery. For the Vogue Italia April 2016 issue three models serve up a slice of visual heaven. Imaan Hammam, Liya Kebede and Gigi Hadid are all featured in the gorgeous shoot.

We especially enjoyed the stylized moody essence of the editorial. Each model displays a dark, somber yet beautiful pose that spotlights their individual glamour. The effortless and ease of their positions has a seductive, magnetic appeal. The Vogue Italia April 2016 “Individuallure” editorial by Marchelier is a come-hither masterpiece that is enchantingly captivating.

Besides, the models themselves, the fashions displayed are just as engaging. Liya, Imaan and Gigi all wear designs by Valentino. The couture proves that subtlety and simplicity can still be a very dramatic style presentation. Nevertheless, their ensembles were given extra flair thanks to bold statement jewelry.

Beauty Notes: Three words… less is more. Never underestimate the power of natural beauty. Emphasis on your best features can be even more gorgeous than a bold lip, strong contour and faux lashes. You’re beautiful so let the world the see it!

Nevertheless, we have noted several trends that transcend style “limitations.” Here are 3 easy spring trends that every girl can rock!

Spring Trends #1– Once You Go White… : White couture is an excellent tint for spring and is versatile. The light and airy tint works for day and nighttime looks. Moreover, it can look causal (slacks/maxi dress) or sexy and sophisticated (jumpsuits/tailored jacket/cut-out dress). Moreover, did we mention that white looks amazing on us melanin girls? So go ahead and give this trend shade a try, you might not want to go back to anything else.

Spring Trends #2– Throw Lots of Shade: Pretend that you are a cast member of Real Housewives of Atlanta and get to throwing some shade! Okay, we are not referring to verbal shade, we mean the shades known better as sunglasses. This season is all about going big or going home when it comes to sunnies. So do not be afraid to opt for a pair of frames that are a little larger than you would normally wear.

Spring Trends #3 Go Nude: We have to stress we are talking about nail color in this sense (LOL). You will love this nail polish tint because it will easily go with your spring and summer fashions seamlessly due to be a neutral color. Moreover, the right nude nail product will look like you went and got a mani. Can you say, “OMG I’m going to save a few bucks?!” Nevertheless, if clashing nail color is a style fear of yours, then take out the guesswork and go grab yourself a pretty nude nail polish.

Designer Michael Kors is putting the Californian gal back on the fashion map! For this spring season his couture is all about “Cali Cool.” To showcase his Michael Kors Spring 2016 chic garments he enlisted the talents of stunning model Malaika Firth. Firth along with supermodel, Lily Aldridge, star in the Michael Kors Spring 2016 Endless Sundays ad campaign.

Los Angeles style is not as glitzy as New York, demure as Paris or sassy as Miami. Nevertheless, it is all about being effortless and relaxed. We have no real seasons out here and the weather usually includes plenty of sun. Your laid back Sunday attire could very well be our daily uniform. However, it still takes fashion intuition to look like you didn’t do much to look amazing. California fashion is truly the epitome of the expression, “I woke up like this.” Maybe that’s why our style vibe is just so cool.

So how do Californian girls dress for spring and summer? The Michael Kors Spring 2016 collection perfectly captures the Californian spirit. White couture dominates the campaign’s color palette. Moreover, we love our dresses, skirts, sandals and shades out here. Those pieces ensure that we can keep the sun out of our eyes, enjoy the beach sand and comfortably deal with the heat as well as calm breeze. Hey Everyone!

Happy Hump Day to ya dolls and hope your week thus far has been absolutely fabulous. I have come across so many amazing fashion lately it has been difficult to pick just one. My aim is to roll out as many picks as possible in the next few weeks so may my hands be steady, keyboard blessed and coffee pot plentiful (LOL). Today, my pick is an exceptional piece from Le Snob. I am always a sucker for innovation, outstanding tailoring and adaptable design. The Le Snob Le Bag Dress is comprised of all three.

Le Bag Dress is the first ever gown that transforms from a handbag into a dress! Yes, you read that correctly, but I shall say it once more. It is a bag that can be unfastened and re-buckled into a stylish dress. This creative design is as exciting as when convertible heels (heels that would turn into flats) were first introduced. Imagine getting a text after work to meet your man, or being at your best friends house in sweats and you finally don’t have to go all the way home to get ready for a night out. For once the answer and key to your fashion salvation would lie right with your handbag. No more of the whole, “I would of gone but I wasn’t dressed right.”

Even better is that the Le Bag Dress turns into a super chic LBD (Little Black Dress) with exquisite detailing. Fringe has come back into vogue for 2016 and this dress design includes 18k gold fringe. All and all this couture piece is all about luxurious practicality. With an appearance here and there one began to think is one of busiest women in entertainment finally on a much deserved break? No loves, those quiet moments was just like the calm before the storm because Beyonce has come out swinging some serious fashion and fitness power! If you were needing any fitness motivation to get off the couch and put down those smartphones to get bomb for summer Beyonce has you covered. Bey is releasing Ivy Park a new activewear line that will have you looking good as you work to feel and transform your body to be even better!

The ad campaign for Ivy Park is completely Sasha Fierce all the way! Bey is photographed at a playground balling out and even sitting pretty on top of a hoop. One of our fave shots is Beyonce on rings. She demonstrates her level of fitness and strength by holding herself up in a tough pose with her feet in the rings! Nevertheless, it’s Beyonce, this is the perfection and diva status we have come to love and expect.

Style Ambassador: The Spring Jacket

The spring jacket should be a fashion staple found in any fashionista’s wardrobe. What exactly constitutes itself as being a spring jacket? It is couture outerwear that is chic, voguish and lighter than the typical winter coat or jacket. Due to temps heading more north this season it is stylishly advantageous to invest in a good jacket that will look great and take the slight spring chill off.

Our style ambassador, Carly, showed off more of her impeccable style taste. Carly paired a fab pair of white jeans with a printed spring jacket. By keeping her top and bottoms neutral, her bold, fun jacket steps right into the spotlight. Remember, whatever piece you want to emphasize needs to be complimented by pieces that will harmonize with your overall ensemble, not compete with it.

Beauty Notes: Carly is sporting a huge trend for spring, the rouge lip. Sassy meets classy!

Carly always looks great and full of confidence. How does she maintain such high esteem in her fashion as well as mindset. When asked, she told us,

“I would describe the art of being a woman as loving, caring, believing, trusting, [mixed with] hope, dignity, and faith. You’re stronger than any anxiety that you may be feeling. So never fear a thing!”

Unbreakable Jewelry Collection by Janet Jackson

It looks like Janet Jackson is still getting No Sleep. Jackson is keeping busy with the release of her Unbreakable Jewelry Collection. The collection will include many luxurious and exquisite designs for those in the market for a high-end piece.

Janet posted a photo to her social media accounts to begin creating buzz in regards to her jewels. In the photo she flashes that signature smile we all adore complimented by one of her jewelry designs. The Unbreakable Jewelry collection is described as being a mixture of “integrity, prestige and authentic brilliance.” All traits that perfectly sum up Janet’s personality.

Emirates Woman held a special gala to showcase Jackson’s jewelry collection. The exclusive event was invite only. So then, while most of the world could not be in attendance to see Janet’s work that doesn’t mean fans haven’t had their share of glimpses of the collection.

At this year’s BET Awards Janet Jackson wore a few Unbreakable Jewelry collection designs: a 25 carat heart-shaped necklace ($2,000,000) and 13 carat Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond ring ($500,000). Jackson was in attendance to receive the Ultimate Icon Award. Moreover, as you can see from the figures above, the price point is geared toward those with deeper pockets.

Nevertheless, this also just goes to show that black women are continuing to spread their wings in big business. From entertainment to corporate to fashion we are flexing our power muscles and we are only getting started.
