We finally have a new RihRih song to learn and it is BEYOND beautiful! Yes, we have the Rihanna Lift Me Up Lyrics and spanking new visuals. A gorgeous, melodic gem from the soundtrack of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film.

Rihanna’s song is a masterpiece in dedication the great, Chadwick Boseman; who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer before the hit Marvel sequel could be completed. Nevertheless, in the song Miss Fenty can be heard warmly singing, “Lift me up, hold me down; keep me close, safe and sound.” What do these lyrics affectionately convey?

Well, to get the heart-touching answer, all you have to do is consult those who wrote the song. Lift me up was written by our talented queen; however, some others added their skill sets as well. Writer Tems, Oscar-winning composer of Black Panther Ludwig Göransson, and even director Ryan Coogler got down on Lift Me Up’s lyrical content.

Moreover, Tems had some background intel to share in regards to the development of the song. Tems states,

“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me, so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”

Lift me up
Hold me down
Keep me close
Safe and soundBurning in a hopeless dream
Hold me when you go to sleep
Keep me in the warmth of your love
When you depart keep me safe
Safe and sound

Hold me down
Keep me close
Safe and sound

Drowning in an endless sea
Take some time and stay with me
Keep me in the strength of your arms
Keep me safe
Safe and sound

With Marvel we are used to gazing upon mesmerizing cinematography. Therefore, would we expect anything less from Rihanna’s visuals for her Wakanda Forever single’s video? Of course not!

Rihanna is definitely back, in full control and looks better than ever. With flowing beach wave/ delicate curl tresses, oversized coat and white gown denoting innocence and peacefulness; Rihanna lightly prances and sings her tribute to Chadwick, cloaking us all in serenity and ethereal calm.

One of our favorite aspects is the shot of Rihanna against the starry-night sky. To us, it shows how the passing of time does not cause you to forget someone you love immensely. But instead such individuals continue to luminously twinkle and shine brightly in our memories; as radiantly as the stars themselves.

However, enough of our philosophical interpretations Lol. Here is a sneak peek of all the beauty of Lift Me Up and Rihanna!
