On dates we constantly see couples more glued to their smartphones than the eyes of their SO. Location updates, food pics, restaurant check-ins have also become on-the-date norms. Moreover, if that wasn’t enough, you can also kiss old school conversation good-bye while you’re at it. Chats, DMs and texts are the new wave of communication. With this tech dating reality among us you may just wonder, what social media says about your love life?

We’re all doomed! Just kidding, no need to go running out into the streets in full on Godzilla panic just yet. However, taking a closer look at your love life through the lense of social media could still do your relationship some good. These days, we’re all just one meme away from love bliss or detriment.

New studies and research is now frequently being done to understand the inter-workings of social media and the impact it has on human relationships. One recent finding showed that those who clocked more hours than their love on social media made a big difference. Alright girls you can exhale. It turns out if you are the one putting in more time than a part-time job at Forever 21 your relationship may not take a beating. However, guys didn’t fair as well in this case.

Husbands and boyfriends that hit up social media platforms more than their wives and girlfriends caused more problems in the relationship. The study found when the scales were majorly tipped in this way couples argued way more often. Researchers believe that men that log more time online may be doing it to seek support.

Their suggestion? Talk to him. Communicate with your guy to see what’s going on in his life. Maybe there is something bugging him and you are just the gal who can help it get fixed.

In a nutshell, emojis help to paint a picture for your dude easily and simply.

Well, good news fellow emoji abusers! These cartoon-ish gems actually help to amp up intimacy among other things. A popular match site decided to find out the truth about emojis through a survey. Their findings? They found that 40 percent of people who engage in using multiple emojis during conversations tend to be more frisky and go on on more dates.

The use of emojis shows that a person is fun, playful and has a sense of humor. Since texting, chats and DMs by themselves can be quite stale. Emojis liven up a convo with the quickness.

Hey when you’re proud you’re proud right? In this case naw, that is very wrong. We’ve all seen it. That one person who posts WCW and MCM like they have recently found out their love life was going to be chronicled by Disney.

You are happy at first, but then 80 posts and 6 days later it gets to be just too much. Researchers have begun to agree. A recent study came to the conclusion that a person who constantly bragged about their boo actually has an insecure bond.

Insecure? Eek, doesn’t that word just give you the heebie buhgeebies? No one likes insecurity to be apart of their intimate relationships. Insecurity wrecks havoc if left unchecked. One partner can begin to suspect wrongdoing and you can forget about trust.

Nevertheless, the study went on to show that couple profile photos were just fine. Actually, couples that displayed such pics demonstrated higher relationship satisfaction. The lesson? Don’t overdo it when it comes to showing off your love. Sappy posts are fine, but it find yourself vomiting out post after post from your cell phone it may be time for self evaluation. Furthermore, researchers also suggest assessing your connection with your love bug as well.

Let’s Conclude

Love is more than a hashtag, photo, like, comment or shoutout. Get into some of the retro practices like phone calls, dates with out phones present (put it in a purse or pocket) and saying the words, “I love you.” As nice as it is to shout to the world how much you love someone its even sweeter to be shown how much someone cares.

Actions speak louder than words and the Gram. They are stronger than a tweet, snap story or FB post. Relationships have stood the test of time throughout centuries because two people decided to spend quality time together. Therefore, communicate without the screen and any post will be just icing on the cake.

iPhone SE Announced To Be Released By Apple

Well, well, well it looks like the selfie gods finally decided to hear our prayers! If you have been gramming with the iPhone 6 or it’s even bigger sibling the iPhone 6 Plus you may have wondered if you have set yourself in line for developing a case of early arthritis. The 6’s came with a bigger screen (Yay!) but once you tacked on a protective phone case it seemed rather, you know… heavy. Apple may have noticed that the iPhone was on its way to looking like an iPad and went back in the lab to create a smaller iPhone that still possesses all the power we’ve become accustomed to, thus giving birth to the iPhone SE. iPhone SE will also comes with facetime app.

Yes gals, the iPhone SE is smaller which if you have small hands and have been dealing with the struggle of stretching your thumb beyond its natural reach to text you may want to look into this version. Or maybe trying to do that cute barely holding the phone finger pose in the mirror proved to be more difficult due to the volume button being much higher; once again you might want to check out the iPhone SE. So then, just how much smaller is the iPhone SE?

The size of this baby compares more to the length and girth of the iPhone 5. The phone will have a 4 inch screen and come complete with a 12 MP iSight camera. Apple also promises that the phone will operate like the iPhone 6s with faster LTE (thank you Yeesus), Voiceover and WIFI. Moreover, new microphones, 4K video, live photos and sick 63MP panorama photo taking will all be apart of the new iPhone tech picture.

The one thing we were most concerned about was also addressed. Apple also said that the iPhone SE will have “improved” battery life. If that truly is the case we are looking forward to running our IG, VSCO, Tumblr, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, camera and multiple Internet windows simultaneously. Lastly, we guess it would be a good thing to talk price right?

Prices seem to be a lot lower than we expected for an iPhone but you’ll still be shelling out a couple hundred for one. A 16GB SE will run you at least $399 while a 62GB will cost you just 100 more ($499). Get in your order early when pre-ordering begins on March 24th right before the actual phone release on March 31st.

Facebook Reactions Ends Awkward Social Moments

Facebook Reactions were released today and it marked the end of awkward social moments experienced on FB. Long gone is the indecision or thought process, “Should I like that?” If you ever felt weirded out liking a post regarding Aunt Edna’s passing or Fluff Fluff going to puppy heaven you can now rest at ease. Facebook Reactions has completely changed the social media game. That is, if you still even possess and use a FB account.

With the rise of Instagram and Snapchat it’s nice to see Facebook try to make interaction on FB more interesting again. Facebook Reactions are animated emojis that can be used instead of a thumbs up. How can you access them? If you’re on a desktop simply hover over the Like button with your pointer and they’ll pop up. However, like 90% of the rest of the world you’re most likely going to be mobile. In this case take that finger of yours and press/hold the Like button until the animations appear.

User reaction to Facebook Reactions has been mostly positive. However, some still felt slightly jilted. Hey Facebook where is the Dislike option?! That would be fun and potentially dangerous, but hey isn’t social media supposed to be a form of entertainment anyway?

Mark Zuckerberg released a statement to explain the move to add the animated emojis. You may feel free to check it out below as well as our other informative post on this site (wink,wink). Zuckerberg said:

“Today is our worldwide launch of Reactions — the new Like button with more ways to express yourself.

Not every moment you want to share is happy. Sometimes you want to share something sad or frustrating. It’s hard to believe that Pompeii was a bustling town with running water, brothels, bath houses and many more modern convinces. When you walk through the streets you just feel overwhelmed by how many people died in the wide open streets of Pompeii just because they did not heed the early warnings to flee.

Exploring the fascinating ancient ruins of Pompeii you see the destruction of Mt Vesuvius’s massive eruption thousands of years ago. This ancient Roman city that was entirely destroyed by the sudden eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD and is marked as the largest archaeological site in Europe.

As you meander through the streets you are able to walk through the mansions of the wealthy people of the city. It’s unbelievable, you can still see the artwork on the walls, walk through their gardens and check out their sleeping quarters.

What you learn about this city is that the who’s who of all wealthy Romans lived here and since it was a port town many sailors lived in the city. This meant that a lot of prostitution was going on. Their are even clues and markers on the street to direct the young men to the ladies of the night and from the looks of the paintings and fresco on the walls things were very erotic in the town of Pompeii.

So traveling to Pompeii was incredible to see this two thousand year old town with mount Vesuvius in the backdrop is a spectacular trip and well worth visiting.

WhenWearGo: Hike to the Cave of Munits

Over the weekend I decide to hike to Cave of Munits at the El Scorpion Park in West Hills California. The hike is pretty tame to begin with. However it is hot as heck right now in California and their isn’t much coverage on the trail. The first real obstacle is when the elevation changes and the trail gets really steep and the rocks are very loose. So you will need proper shoes for this trail like good hiking boots.

When Wear Go El Scorpion Park to Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve,

Once you get up this loose steep heel the adventure really begins. Their is some climbing involved to actually get into the cave. So if you have never done any type of rock climbing please bring a partner who has, cause it can get quite dangerous. I am so happy I wasn’t by myself because it was quite tricky finding footing as some points of the climb and my shoes really sucked. Their was no grip so I was at the mercy of gravity that almost won if I didn’t have a supporting hand going up.

Yet with all of that I made it. Thank God!! It is truly amazing once you get inside the cave and was definitely worth it. Will I go again. Maybe not cause I’m not a big rock climber and this is probably child’s play to most climbers but I have no upper body strength. However if I go back with the proper shoes and more climbing experiences It could be worth it because the views are outstanding.

In these modern times technology is all around us in order to make life easier and smoother. Often times, especially here in the states and our hometown Los Angeles we literally live in our cars. To get anywhere we need them and when weather is an issue we are glad to have wheels.

Nevertheless, as nice as zipping around town on fours is, having a phone seems to be the pinnacle of life. It’s the mode to have instant communication with friends or family, direction mapper, selfie taker, data analyst, document creator and list goes on and on. However, these two awesome inventions can prove to be deadly when combined.

Dun… Dun…. Dun! Well, it will only be a scary situation if you allow it to be. What some ladies and gentlemen are not aware of is that they are causing water damage to their phones while in their cars. How is this happening?

Have you ever gone through a drive thru and ordered a drink and put said drink in a cup holder? Most of us have its what the holder was designed to do. Moreover, once that drink has been finished you may toss it and place your phone in the very spot it the drink had been located. The leftover condensation from the drink can seep inside through the charger port and wreak havoc.

It is like taking your phone and dropping it in its own little pool. Keep your phone safe by waiting for your cup holder to be dry or use napkins to speed up the process. You may also consider finding a different spot in your ride for your phone to chill at while you man the controls. Therefore, be careful with how you treat your phone in your auto and live to take another selfie.
