Lais Ribiero and Sharam Diniz Join in Victoria’s Secret’s First Fold Out Swim Cover

Have you seen Victoria’s Secret’s new swim catalog yet? You may of noticed something a little different. Nine gorgeous supermodels share the cover that is the catalog’s first fold out. Lais Ribiero and Sharam Diniz grace the momentous cover along with: Josephine Skriver, Monika Jac Jagaciak, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Andreea Diaconu, Ophelie Guillermand, and Elsa Hosk.

Sports Illustrated always makes a big splash with their yearly Swim cover showcasing a bombshell in a tinsy bikini. Will Victoria’s Secret’s swim cover become just as popular? Only time shall tell, but we have to admit from a business standpoint there is no going wrong. Vickie’s move to put more emphasis on swimwear is an excellent due to recent reports that the swimwear industry shall reach $17.6 billion dollars in revenue this year.

Back to the cover, it is always nice to see stunning black models being representatives of beauty for our community as well as the globe. Cheers to Lais Ribiero as well as Sharam Diniz for getting another cover and we can’t wait to see more from these lovelies this year.

It looks like Fendi is loving them some Binx Walton! Lovely Binx not only walked in the Fendi runway show but she is also one of the models casted for the Fendi Spring 2015 ad campaign. Walton can be seen looking gorgeous in florals, a watch WITH fur as well as in a two-tone jacket that we think is just to die for!

Hair Notes: Pulled back hair with a deep side part is a major hair trend for the spring and summer seasons.

90’s Babies! Adidas Superstar Trainers S/S 2015

Okay so we are going to bust out with our knee high socks, plaid, chokers and scrunchie hair ties because Adidas is taking us back! Adidas’ spring 2015 ad campaign for their Superstar Trainers modernize the 90’s superstar girl group The Spice Girls. Back then girl power filled the air and it was all about being cute and cool with your friends because boys just…ya know, sucked (LOL).

Casting was done by Anti-Agency and the ad was shot by photographer Olivia Richardson. Everything about this campaign is just fresh to death making us want to “really really really wanna zigazag ha.” Ohhh, what you know about that? Other than proving that we still remember the lyrics to If You Wannabe My Lover we honestly have to say that Adidas has infused fun, excitement and good times back into shoe fashion.

Hair Notes: We are loving the thick braids, a departure from the super long as well as thin french braids that we have seen as of late and those baby hairs are beyond on fleek!

Marc Jacob Uses Social Media to Cast Spring 2015 Campaign

When it is time for casting most designers turn to a modeling agency to find their talent. This season designer Marc Jacobs turned to social media to find his muses to showcase his Marc By Marc Jacobs spring 2015 creations. 11 lucky Marc Jacob fans were cast and their reactions were nothing less than absolutely grateful.

Toks Adewetan a native of Brooklyn explains the excitement he felt after receiving the news of his selection for the campaign. Toks says,”When I got selected, I was, like, ecstatic inside, but I tried to compose myself. Kinda like LeBron James.”

For today’s Get Your Man Right we pulled a look from the Umit Benan Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. As you notice it has a clean preppy style to it but is a step up from “Carlton of Fresh Prince of Bel Air” to more of Will Smith’s character’s style thanks to the added color in the sweater, pushed up sleeves and backwards hat. If your boy enjoys dressing in a little more upscale fashion but doesn’t want to lose his cool this is the perfect ensemble for him.

NBA Star Russell Westbrook For True Religion S/S 2015 Campaign

As we sip our coffees all of us here at 1966 had to agree that is never too early for a little eye candy! One of Oklahoma City Thunder’s finest players stars in True Religion’s Spring/Summer 2015 ad campaign. We’ll gladly gaze upon Westbrook in tight pants while flexing for the camera any day.

True Religion’s chief executive officer David Conn spoke on the brand’s move to cast someone from the sports realm for their ad campaign. He explained that the “influence of sports on fashion has increased dramatically. Working with a pro athlete was a natural for us. A lot of players shop in our stores, and Russell is as well known for what he does on the court as what he wears at the press conference after the game.”

Hip hop artists for years have worn their denim a little on the big side. It has often been up to major debate as to whether pants should stay up or be acceptable to go a little south. Nevertheless, for their spring 2015 runway show DSQUARED showcased models wearing extra baggy denim. The look was very relaxed and upped the cool chic factor by being coupled with bright colors.
