Lake Balboa is located at Anthony C. Beilenson Park. Anthony C. Beilenson Park is an 80 acre water recreation facility within the Sepulveda Flood Control basin. The centerpiece of the park, Lake Balboa, is a 27 acre lake filled with water reclaimed from the Tillman Water Reclamation Plant

What To Do: 1.3 mile jogging/walking path, bike path, cascade, cherry blossom trees (Japanese) and fly fishing area

WHY GO: The Observatory 1,134 feet above sea level is located on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. Griffith Observatory is a unique hybrid of public observatory, planetarium, and exhibition space. Free public telescope viewing is available each evening except Monday because it is closed that day. Also it’s a great place to take wedding photos or engagement photos for your special day and when you come and visit you will see many doing so. If scenic views and gazing at the stars are your cup of tea you must visit Griffith Observatory,

Travel Mondays: The Getty Museum

WHERE: 1200 Getty Center Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90049

WHY GO: If you love the arts including paintings, sculptures, architecture or beautiful gardens and can’t make it to the Louvre in Paris, this could be the next best thing. In California you always go to the beach or eat In-N-Out. But to change it up a bit, go enjoy and learn about art history. Awe at the works of art from long ago dating from the Renaissance to the Neoclassical art.

DRESS CODE: Chic casual. Leave the short shorts at home I believe you should look dignified like the works of art.
