For instance, back in 2015, shattered glass nails slid into the nail art realm like a hurricane. Overnight the look took off until it just suddenly and swiftly disappeared. Like the clock struck twelve and the fun was over.
Nevertheless, now the glass look is receiving a bit of a beauty revival. Instead of a broken vibe, nails are more modern and fresh by staying simple and lucid. The goal is for the nail to be long, shaped and crystal clear to peer through.

This year Dolce & Gabbana made headlines with their vibrant floral and print designs. If you loved the DG runway show you are going to raise a Cosmopolitan drink in honor of Ayumi Namaizawa. Ayumi of Mars the Salon in West Hollywood has created a Dolce & Gabbana inspired nail art that is simply divine. Here’s how to get the look!

Alright, gals before you get started look above to check out a pic of the final look you will be creating! As you can see it incorporates the essence of the Dolce & Gabbana collection. Have fun and happy painting dolls!
Dolce & Gabbana Inspired Nail Art From Mars The Salon
1. Apply base coat.
2. Apply light beige color on index, middle, and pinky, and apply black color on dumb and ring finger. Draw French line with white color on thumb and ring finger.
3. Draw a white dot on the bottom part of thumb, and draw round shape surrounding the dot.
Draw a yellow dot and yellow petal on thumb.
4. Draw 2 yellow dots on ring finger.
5. Draw some petals of daisy flowers on ring finger.
6. Draw some petals of a daisy flower with white color, and draw orange dot on yellow flower.
Draw orange pattern on white circle on thumb.
7. Draw some leaves of the flowers with green color, and outer lines of the beach ball with black color on thumb.
8. Draw some gray color dots on the french tip of thumb.
9. Draw some leaves of the flowers with green color.
Draw some gray color dots on the french tip of ring finger.
10. Draw 3 dots on the bottom and tip of the index, middle, and pinky with white and light green colors.
11. Draw some dots outer side of the nail with white and light green color.
12. Draw yellow dots inside of the 3 dots.
13. Draw some gray dots on index and pinky finger.

2016 Beauty Trend: Nude Nails
We’re living in a world where we buy one thing and two seconds later it’s yesterday’s news. From our smartphones to our Jimmy Choos, everything seems to come packaged with an end of cool date. The beauty world is no exception to the expiration rule. Beauty trends come and go, but one trend that we are proud to say made it another year in the realm of fabulosity is one that is actually quite a lifesaver too. The 2016 Beauty Trend that is a girl’s best friend and a nail color classic is nude nails.
Nude nails are like the equivalent of the black heel, it will basically go with everything. No guesswork, no fretting and absolutely no fear of the dreaded discoloration often connected and associated with darker nail tints.

Cool Factor: Nude nails just a tad too much of, how do we say, a bore? Welp, you would not be alone. Many shy away from the tint due to its very conservative vibe. Nevertheless, don’t be afraid to add some embellishments in order to take things up a notch.
We are still reminiscing of the nail look we spotted for the Lie Sangbong Spring/Summer 2016 Collection. Nails were given a textured effect. You can get the same look by applying a coat of your favorite creamy/neutral nail polish to clean and filed nails. Then apply two coats of a textured topping such as Jinsoon x Barney’s Sahara Topping. Finish things off will a coat of glossy topcoat and you’ll be the belle of the nail art ball.

Furry Nails Spotted at Libertine F/W 2016
During a fashion show everything is scrutinized right down to the smallest details. It’s not just about fashion but the overall look. As a model walks the catwalk the cameras can be unforgiving. Therefore, it’s important that designers make a statement and create a show that is unforgettable. Libertine’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway show did not disappoint and had us all like, “Wait was that furry nails?”
Nail addicts feast your eyes on one of the oddest yet daring nail trends for 2016. If you are a fan of MTV’s Teen Wolf you are probably jumping for joy. Your eyes are not failing you, you are in fact seeing Libertine models with furry nails.
Nail designs have evolved quite a bit over the past few years. Bling, chains and illustrative details have been faves. However, for awhile it has been more about nail shape. Who of us can forget the strong pointy long nail trend that had us rethinking the use of tampons? Nevertheless, admit it or not furry nails have a slight fun, majestic feel to them. If you don’t take it as something you would rock daily it could be a cute one night nail look that you simply do for the Gram and Tumblr.
So if you want the furry nails look how do you create them? The co-founder of CND nail polish, Jan Arnold, and the CND team painted model’s nails with Vinylux Weekly Polish in Cream Puff (cute, love the name) and Rubble. Next, faux fur was securely attached to each nail using the Super Shiny High-Gloss Top Coat. Boom! That’s how you get this creative nail look.

Head Back to School With Nail Designs From MARS the Salon!
You have heard of updating your wardrobe for back-to-school, but what about your nail art looks?! Just like clothing, nail trends are revamped for the runway every season and MARS the Salon has recreated the must-have designs for you to showcase in the school runways, we mean hallways (wink, wink). While plaids, metallics and deep burgundy hues are the hottest styles to wear, you may only want to express your inner fashionista on your nails! Below are three back to school nail looks created by MARS the Salon owner Hiroko Fujikawa and her team of experts to make sure you are the queen of the campus!
MARS the Salon
“Plaid Princess”
1. File nail into desired shape.
2. Apply 2 coats of white polish to each nail.
3. Apply camel and turquoise polish on the tips and under the tip.
3. Using a precision art brush, create a checkered pattern on three alternating nails using neon pink polish.
4. Apply top coat to seal and add shine.
“Metallic Muse”
1. Apply a base coat.
2. Apply silver glitter polish on all fingers.
3. Apply Gold hologram polish on all fingers.
4. Apply a top coat.
“Burgundy Gal”
1. Apply burgundy nail polish to every other nail
2. Coat the alternate nails in a glittery silver polish
3. Paint a thick stripe of the burgundy across the top of each silver-coated nail
4. Glue silver crystals on top of the silver nail polish
5. Finish with a top coat.
J. Mendel Spring/Summer 2015 OPI Manicure
Manicures are about to become as simple as Do-Rae-Me. The nail look of the season is all about minimalism and a neutral palette. For J. Mendel’s Spring/Summer 2015 show OPI created a nude manicure using Matte Top Coat. The simplestic nature of the manicure allows the nail’s natural beauty to shine through. The beautiful “traditional” design features a twist on the original French tip with white lines, flowers and rhinestones that are sure to match with any bride’s dream dress!
Tyra Banks is a big fan of this luxury hot nail spot and you will be too.
For all you ladies who are dying to know how to create this look at home. Below we have provided step-by-step techniques for the “Traditional” design. Enjoy.
- Apply base coat.
- Apply white gel color, creating French tip.
- Draw thin curved line along the French tip.
- Draw some half-moons on the thin curved line.
- Draw thin vertical lines inside of the half-moons.
- Draw winding lines.
- Draw a flower on the bottom of the nail.
- Draw some lines inside of the flower.
- Draw another flower on the nail. (same process as #7 and #8)
- Draw plaid lines around the flowers.
- Attach a big crystal and 2 small crystals on the tip of the nail, and Apply top coat.
