Can you believe that it is already the 2017 CFDA Awards night? This is one of the fashion industry’s biggest events of the year! Everyone who is anyone makes sure that they come out to play and slay.

Therefore, its time to accept that a full 365 has actually passed us by ushering in yet another amazing evening of stylish flair. However, this disbelief could be because we are still riding high off of Beyonce taking home the CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award just last year. Bey’s pinstriped suit, humongous black hat and acceptance speech had one and all saying, “Long live the Queen!”

Nevertheless, this year’s 2017 CFDA Awards was chalk full of more amazing winners and of course, fabulous couture! Everybody from Scandal‘s Kerry Washington to the always fun to watch style risk taker, Janelle Monae hit the red carpet (actually though, this year it wasn’t rouge). It is about time for the creation of the Image Maker Awards! As they say, behind every glamorous Hollywood star is a rockstar team of people. It takes a village to take a celeb from resting face to red carpet queen. With this in mind Marie Claire is honoring the hardworking Image Makers who beat faces, slay fashions, fleek hair and have us living to look like our favorite shining stars.

Last night, Marie Claire embarked upon their first ever Image Maker Awards which was held in swanky Beverly Hills, California at the Chateau Marmont. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as well as How to Catch a Murderer actress Aja Naomi King were both in attendance for the festivities. The ladies looked stunningly gorgeous in their bold tinted frocks.

Lupita had a very special duty to carry out during the Marie Claire Image Maker Awards ceremony. She was tapped to present an Image Maker Award to her very own personal stylist, Micaela Erlanger. Nyong’o took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the honor stating,

What’s great about the bun is that it can be styled quickly, is a hair protector, doesn’t have to look perfect and can work for night or daytime looks. By the looks of Karreuche Tran this is definitely a win-win in the hair department. Add even more drama to the look by utilizes braids or twists like Tran.

Lupita wasn’t the only starlet in attendance as several glamorous ladies who have had a part in representing the brand came out to show their support.

Apart of the list of brand ambassadors included in the evenings festivities were: Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Lupita Nyong’o, Lily Collins, Alma Jodorowsky and Daria Werbowy. Let’s not forget that Lancome is a front runner in the world of beauty so each beauty-lista showed off her own gorgeous makeup look to compliment the night’s French fashion theme.
