February is literally days away which means we are approaching spring! Yay, for new fashions and much warmer weather conditions which we are confident all of you back east will appreciate. We spied with our fashion eyes numerous prints but one that stuck out from the usually plaids or stripes was a palm print. After the winter season its always nice to think of relaxing on the beach of a gorgeous island. There was just something cute, girly and laid-back about this print which enhanced its fun factor. Top hats may be a more male-driven fashion, however the accessory can look just as elegant and sophisticated on women. We spotted the top hat during an equestrian themed runway show for fall/winter fashion week in Toronto, Canada. Pair the hat with denim, boots, khakis, blazers, long coats and even a nicely tailored suit. With such a stylish hat you are bound to make a strong fashion statement.

Streetstyle: Hood and Snapback Combo

It is cold outside even here in normally sunny southern California. Keeping warm and staying in style can be a challenge especially when all you want to do is bundle and wrap up like a burrito. Nevertheless, we remember some cool layering by Angel Haze when she attended the menswear Givenchy fashion show in Paris, France. Angel didn’t just wear a hat, but she then added a hoodie on top. The backwards hat will always be cool in our book and layering on an outerwear piece with a hood just seals the urban fashion deal.

American Music Awards 2014 Fashion Trend: Shimmery Couture

We noticed a few trends on the red carpet for this year’s American Music Awards, but one trend stood out and seemed to match the event’s glitzy vibe. The AMAs red carpet at Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles, was raided with shimmery couture looks that were full of Hollywood razzle dazzle. Singer/actresses Zendaya Coleman and Jordin Sparks both showed off daring, sparkling attire as well as extra skin.

Spark’s bronzed gown included a plunging neckline while Zendaya’s over-sized gold ensemble (pants and trench are Georgine Spring 2015) revealed a blue midriff baring top. The looks definitely grabbed the attention of onlookers and the event’s television viewers. What do you think of shimmery couture, is it a “Do” or a “Don’t?

Fashion doesn’t always have to be all pain and no gain. This season you do not need to freeze your couture tail off in the name of fall/winter style. Case in point, some may feel that a hat may detract or lessen the drama of their ensemble. However, when done correctly hats are a great accessory to not only keep you warm, but fully complete your outfit.

Being a Cheap Can Be Chic girl beanies are one of my favorite hats to wear once the temperature takes a dip. They are very reasonably priced and look great with sweaters, trench coats, fur and matches well with scarves. Moreover, since they are normally solid color accessories you don’t have to worry about a blending issue. A beanie will easily enhance yet not dominate an already great look.
