Naomie Harris Designs Bag For Fendi

We always love to see celebrities collaborating with others for a very great cause. Case in point, actress Naomie Harris has designed a chic handbag for fashion powerhouse Fendi that will benefit charity. Harris created an off-white leather Peekaboo bag that features the continent of Africa in black and white stripes that reads, “Truth…Love…Freedom,” across the top.

This collector’s item will be part of a special Fendi charity project for Kids Company. The handbags will be sold through auction beginning on May 1st and extending to May 30th. Kids Company provides support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people.

In the 1920’s the air was thick of music and style all moving to the rhythm of the sax and drums. The nostalgia of the Pre-Fall collection shows a time when men truly cared about their attire whether through wearing berets, wool coats, trousers worn rather short or straight so that a man’s socks could be seen. Now in the 1920s, the middle-class Americans could build their foundation of a style, keep up with fashion trends and express oneself as never before.

We all have that one friend who will always be our little partner in crime. That person who is down for whatever, fun, adventurous and just makes the world go round. H&M has taken a stab at capturing the essence of the BFF philosophy and came out with the big “W.”

As we were looking at the campaign we couldn’t help but be reminded of countless sleepovers, crush talk and the swapping of clothes with our close gal pals for a fun night out. The H&M fashions are great, styling is fresh and overall feel of the ad comes off as let’s just enjoy being young and have a good time. We dig the message and will be purchasing H&M couture to strut in as we make new memories with our Best Friends Forever.

For their spring ad campaign Tk Maxx decided to showcase 8 regular people. 8 regular shoppers of the brand were chosen to model their stuff in an ad to highlight the brand’s newest collection.

One of the shots include British Tk Maxx shopper, Justine. Justine fabulously rocks a pair of shades that matches her awesome laid back style. Aw spring… birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, bees are fluttering about and the sun seems to dance across the sky. No designer got into the spirit of the season more than Sophia Webster for her spring 2014 collection.

Models participating in the show wore hairstyles inspired by insect antennas, yet the amusement didn’t stop there. Models also toted bags that read, “High Flyer” and “You Buggin.” Their nails were painted with iridescent and pastel tints in order to keep with the theme.

We are always thrilled when designers infuse youthful vigor and festivity into their fashions. Therefore, this spring season when you’re getting ready for your day just have fun with it!

1966 Magazine Attends El Paseo Fashion Week Project Runway

It has definitely been a whirlwind of a week, but it has all been worth it in the name of glorious couture.

We had the pleasure of seeing our favorite Project Runway designers showcase their latest designs. Typically, if you think of West Coast fashion – L.A. Fashion Week may instantly come to mind; however, not so fast ladies.

El Paseo Fashion Week is quickly proving to be one of the hottest tickets in town elevating fashion week show production and design. For the first night, we wore a LBD cutout dress (Arianne) and purple floral gown (Alicia).
