Have you heard of the Beauty has No Color Challenge? Makeup artists and lovers from all over are coming together to end prejudice. Thus, promoting that beauty comes in all shades. Leading the charge is makeup artist Kat Bahadur who is extremely passionate about makeup. Thanks to her hashtag and skills people are talking. Let’s get to gabbing, we got all the details for ya!

The Beauty Has No Color Challenge- Makeup Changing the World

Kat’s love for cosmetics has garnered her thousands of social media fans. Now she is using her platform and voice for a good cause. She explains:

“So I’m going to post a video speaking on why I’m pushing this so hard. It’s disgusting how people are treating each other because they want people to remain segregated. Beauty has no color.

I want to make people uncomfortable. I want people to begin talking. Moreover, I need people to stop being so caged up in their mind. Also, I need people to start loving and stop bashing people just because we want to be unified.

God made us all beautiful. Beauty has no color. This look was inspired by the comment section in the picture where I had multiple shades. We as a people need to stop this race competition. No one is better than another. We are all equal in the eyes of God. Moreover if he sees us as equal why don’t we?

This world is hurting. Furthermore, we all need to learn how to accept each other. It’s 2017 let’s get it together now and more importantly we need to start loving more as well as forgiving.

As a makeup artist and lover of all people I challenge my other makeup artist friends to recreate this look and post with the hashtag Beauty Has No Color. There is nothing wrong with appreciating beauty. There is nothing wrong with being an artist. Stop being a hater and learn to love with your whole heart.”

With glee Cipriana gushed about the L’Oreal campaign. She says, “I still can’t believe it! What a way to start off the New Year. So excited to be apart of the latest L’Oreal True Match Campaign which is being called one of the ‘most diverse beauty campaigns.’ Thank you to L’Oreal, the incredible team behind this campaign and all the inspiring individuals included. As a black woman I am excited for little girls/boys and young women/men to see diverse individuals they can identify with in the beauty industry. Showing their true self is true beauty and each and every one of us can look in the mirror and say, ‘Because I’m worth it.’

I have to admit I did shed a few tears when I had to say the classic line, ‘because you’re worth it’ during shooting. As a woman of color who had so many past struggles within the industry just to fight to simply be me. These struggles eventually led me to cofound Urban Bush Babes out of a strong passion to change the stereotypical standard of beauty and show true beauty is diversity.

To be selected from a brand I [also] have been using for over a decade and say because I am worth it from my unwavering beliefs. Wow, the power of standing up for what you believe in. Thank you to all who have shown your support and continue to support me on my journey.”

Nevertheless, despite popular memes beautiful and fresh looking skin is not something we all just wake up with every day. So then, is there a way to get our glow on without all the fuss?

Glowing Skin : Where Should I Really Place My Blush?

In a word, the answer is yes. With the help of cosmetics you can achieve a gorgeous glow up. The best part of all it will also look completely natural. Uhm, sign us up please!

Blush is a surefire and simple product to use in order to create natural glowing skin. However, the truth is sometimes many just do not know where to place it. There have been quite a few beauty debates on the subject. It was even thought that blush only belonged on the apples of the cheeks. Yet, such placement often times did not work on all face types and shapes. Therefore, is there an universally pleasing way to apply blush?

Once again dolls the answer is yes. Ramy Gafni, a highly sought after makeup artist from the NYC area says the best way to think about it is to envision a clock. As you gaze into the mirror while looking at your face try to picture where the hands of a clock would be. On your left cheek you would want to brush on blush at 10 o’ clock. Moreover, on your right cheek you would want to do the same at 2 o’ clock.

After applying the blush you of course would want to blend for a flawless finish. Very simple right? With just a few swipes of blush placed in the right spot you two can showcase a natural glow.

Don’t Apply Foundation Over Concealer

Beauty Quickie: Beauty experts and MUAs agree that us gals are applying our concealer all wrong. When trying to cover up those blemishes or dark under eye circles from the previous night’s festivities it is a girl’s rule of thumb to reach for the concealer. However, applying foundation over concealer basically defeats the purpose of applying concealer in the first place.

When foundation is placed over concealer, the concealer is then thinned out providing less coverage on the area or spot you are aiming to conceal. So then, what is the technique that should be used when making trouble areas less noticeable? After applying foundation you then want to dab concealer over the foundation in any area where you feel hasn’t been completely camouflaged.

Beauty Question: Is Mineral Makeup Safe?

Beauty Answer: This is a very wise question to ask because it involves making sure that our biggest organ on our body remains well-protected… our skin. More and more organic and “healthy” beauty products are on the rise because of recent discoveries of harmful ingredients in major products. Nevertheless, never assume that just because a product totes itself as being safe that it really is; always do your research before purchasing.

With that said not all mineral makeup products are good for you. There are some that contain a powdered form of titanium dioxide which can be quite dangerous to the body if inhaled. Now when titanium dioxide is in a cream based formed it is much safer because the solid form helps to prevent it from being inhaled. However, when titanium dioxide is inhaled as a powder the effects can be compared to those exposed to asbestos. Yikes!

Many exposed to asbestos for a short period of time are normally okay. Nevertheless, frequent exposure and after some time usually decades later the harmful effects become apparent and some even develop lung cancer. Now let’s that apply that to the using of mineral products with unsafe ingredients. A little exposure may not harm you, but most women apply makeup daily and reapply throughout the day. That is a lot of exposure which could do a lot of damage down the road. So then, always read the ingredients list carefully so that no matter what type of makeup you are purchasing you are protecting yourself and your health.

Make Your Lips Bigger or Smaller Without Surgery

As much as we love ourselves most women would like to change one or two things in regards to their appearance. As the saying goes we all want what we can’t have. Ever noticed that a woman with a beautiful physique may want smaller hips or she may have a great facial bone structure yet desires a softer look. No matter what beauty each of us possess still a small change here and there could be nice.

Today we are going to focus on the lips, whether you want them fuller or thinner this post will help get you there. To perform this beauty feat all you will need is a lip pencil aka liner. Nevertheless, when you doing this you never want to go too far or overboard otherwise the ending result will look unnatural. The reason why this trick works so well is because lip pencils allow you to cleanly redefine your lips in a subtle manner.

Create Fullness: Use the lip liner to trace and outline your lips as normal, but create the line a slightly outside your natural lip line. Doing so will give you a larger area to fill making your lips look instantly bigger.

Thin the Pout: Outline your lips using the lip pencil, but instead of following your mouth’s natural outline trace just on the inside. This will give the appearance that a small amount of lip has done a poof magic trick.

Why exactly is it important to know and understand the undertone of your skin? Being aware of what category you fall under will help you not only beauty wise, but also when choosing various fashions. Discovering whether you are a warm, cool or neutral undertone will help you purchase cosmetics and couture that truly suit you. This is because you will know what colors are appropriate for your skin type enabling you to truly look your best. Imagine your skin looking more radiant and your eyes more dazzling and all because it is like everything you are wearing was specifically as well as specially made for you.

If seeing is believing or you just happen to be more of a visual person in general there is a simple test that you can perform in order to discover your skin’s undertone. All you need to do is locate two pieces of jewelry, one being gold and the other silver. You will use these accessories to help give yourself a proper assessment of your skin.

To perform the jewelry test first try on your gold jewelry and take note of your skin.

Next, do the same with your silver jewelry remaining observant of how your skin looks.

Once both the gold and silver has been worn ask yourself the following questions and be as honest as possible: Which color of jewelry complimented my skin the most? Did I look better wearing gold or silver? If you answered gold then you possess a warm undertone, but if silver made you resemble a beauty queen then you a cool lady.

Now what happens if you looked great in silver and gold? Although very rare, this indicates that you have a neutral undertone which means the sky is kind of the limit. You have a much larger range of tints and shades that will look amazing on you. Beauty Question: Is it trendy to wear dark lipstick in summer?

Beauty Answer: Oh girl yes it is perfectly fine! We do not know when it became the “In” thing to dictate when and how a particular tint or shade should be worn. Makeup is all about self expression and enhancing your gorgeous natural features. What happens if your facial structure just seems to pop when wearing darker shades? Are you just supposed to forgo a certain color all season long just because its not deemed a right seasonal tint?

Hopefully you answered a resounding no because dark lipstick is not just for the colder months. To take it a step farther the orange lip showed up on fall/winter runways several seasons back. Yes, orange a very bright, boisterous shade that is usually deemed more of a spring/summer color. Therefore, do not pigeon hole yourself because various shades can be worn all year long.

One last example before we get to some dark lip beauty inspiration. Red lipstick is worn by women regardless whether it is summer, winter, fall or spring. Yet, how many times do we see that red is THE color for spring or THE color for winter. Which is it, what time of year does red look best? Every color looks its best when it is worn by a confident woman who is happily rocking her look. Nevertheless, when a certain color becomes more popular and seen from the runway to the streets, then that is most likely when it will be honored with the trendy tag.

Beauty Snapshot: Lancome Celebrates 80 Years of Beauty

It was definitely a night of beauty as celebrities came to celebrate Lancome’s 80th anniversary. Over 1200 attended the lovely affair including Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o who dazzled in shimmery gown. Lupita wasn’t the only starlet in attendance as several glamorous ladies who have had a part in representing the brand came out to show their support.

Apart of the list of brand ambassadors included in the evenings festivities were: Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Lupita Nyong’o, Lily Collins, Alma Jodorowsky and Daria Werbowy. Let’s not forget that Lancome is a front runner in the world of beauty so each beauty-lista showed off her own gorgeous makeup look to compliment the night’s French fashion theme. Lupita Nyong’o rocked a bold red lip (Lancôme’s Lips-Liner in Sheer Chocolat), thanks tof make-up artist Nick Barose.
