Long or short we always love the sassy and stunning Keke Palmer’s hair! Her haircut was shot around the hair globe like a silver bullet and now her added hair color is getting just has much attention. Keke gave her tresses a golden touch and has been wearing her golden cut in fabulous ways. Here are a few more of our favorites:
Shaggy hair can look very groovy baby, yeah! Marc Jacobs models for his spring 2015 runway show sported very care-free shaggy bobs. Their locks had a very retro vibe as if the models could of been walking through a time machine from the 60’s and 70’s. Punk style has definitely seen a rival in recent years and it even made us think back to the punk inspired Met ball not so long ago.
Nevertheless, would you believe that the Marc Jacobs models wore wigs to achieve their Joey Ramone-esqe bowl cut hairstyles? Before the show the wigs had been dyed jet black and then hairstylists custom fitted the wigs to the model’s heads. Wigs are an excellent way to achieve styles quickly or that may be harmful to your real hair. This show emphasizes that when made and fitted correctly wigs can make a powerful statement just as much as the fashions they accompany.

Her sister slayed last Friday at the Tom Ford Fall 2015 fashion show and yesterday Solange brought the fashion heat as well! Solange wore a red cape top and pant from the Christian Siriano Fall 2015 collection. We loved the wavy shoulder length hair and the matchy-matchy lip color. Designer Christian Siriano took to his Instagram last night proclaiming the “Lady in Red” a Beauty.

While some of us are making sacrifices at the hair color bar altar praying gray strands stay faraway from our heads. There are other women who are willingly going gray via dyed hair jobs. You may recall celebrities such as Rihanna getting in on the gray hair revolution. Nevertheless, now things are being stepped up a bit by adding in an ombre effect.
Ombre hair color is where the hair color starts off dark and gradually gets lighter as you move towards the tips or ends of strands. Besides RiRi, actress Dascha Polanco who plays on the hit show Orange is The New Black went gray ombre with purple tips. This hair tint can be extremely rough or harsh on your hair. Therefore, what can you do to protect your hair if you are thinking of going gray?
Going to such extreme colors means that you should take extreme measures to protect your hair. It is recommended that you pre-treat or prep your hair with oils and deep conditioners for about a week before the process. Dying your hair can be quite drying which is why some women end up with a “fried” hair look. Moreover, deep conditioning your locks will be be necessary since your tresses will need to be lifted to a platinum blonde shade in order for the true color to show up.
What if your natural hair color is very dark? For women with natural darker shade of hair keep in mind that going so light will not be a simple walk-in and walk out process. It should be noted that in order to safely dye your hair gray it usually takes two processes.
Remember when Rihanna made headlines when she performed her hit song Diamonds while wearing her hair in a wrap?
Well, we thought we would never see visible bobby pins and Rihanna in the same setting for some time, but boy were we wrong! The pins have reemerged for the March 2015 issue of W Magazine Korea, but in a little different style.
This time around only the front of RiRi’s hair received the pin treatment and the was rest was left to hang freely. Rihanna has taken black hairstyles to a whole different level and she has put it on display for the whole world to see.
We personally like the visible pin look, which has been seen during a number of runway shows and celebrity hair stylist Larry Sims created a similar look for singer Dawn Richards. Nevertheless, whether this look could translate into everyday life without looking too messy or unkempt is the real issue.
For now we say leave this look for editorial shoots or occasions you want to really make a strong style statement.

Clean up your act or your hair could suffer the consequences. It is almost a catch 22, we need products to help our hair look amazing yet those same products could also cause issues. Therefore, what can be done to ensure our hair routines stay on the positive end of things?
First, step is to take a quick look-see into the ingredients of your main hair products to see what’s really in them. Without you knowing it or being aware many styling products such as serums can contain silicon. Silicon products that are used in succession and often can cause build up on the hair that will need regular cleansing in order to remove. So then, whenever possible it is best to leave off from using styling products in order to give your hair a rest.
Moreover, like the seasons change your products should also change out from time to time. Sometimes hair can become used to a product resulting in that same product not being as effective. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to change shampoos occasionally to prevent such from occurring.
Bonus Tip: Many women and men included enjoy using moisture rich shampoos because of it’s nice thick lather. However, such a product is known to cause build up; so then, it is best to make the switch to milder PH balanced shampoos.
They don’t call it the quilted paper picker upper for nothing! Investing in a roll of Bounty or other brand of paper towels could be the simplest as well as cheapest fix to preventing your hair from looking like a finger was inserted into a socket. It has become widely known the average towel can be not only too rough on strands but can cause added frizz.
Now if you are a natural hair wearing lady preventing curls or waves from losing shape or puffing into some unknown entity is probably of utmost concern. To combat this issue many women choose to use a tee shirt because of the softer fibers in order to help remove excess water from their hair. Another option would be simply to use a paper towel.
Paper towels will cause less friction and absorb more water than a towel made out of cloth. Moreover, since more water is absorbed then hair drying and styling can be sped up. To decrease puffiness, gently wring your tresses with a paper towel after washing and conditioning. Even though this tip was mentioned with naturalistas in mind, it would work for anyone drying their hair.
Of course there are products out on the market that could help with this matter, but the right haircut can do the trick as well. Now do not fear we are not talking about anything drastic especially if your goal is to retain length. Layering your hair will not only give it more movement but it will give it the illusion of having more volume. Simply have your hairdresser add a few subtle layers and you will have a fuller look without sacrificing any length.
Combing your hair correctly can save you a lot of pain and from breaking or snapping strands of your hair unnecessarily. First things first, you are the realest (sorry couldn’t help it LOL); secondly, keep in mind that combing wet strands has to be done systematically. Meaning you will need to comb hair in sections and in a manner that will lean more towards being gentle. As you work through sections start at the ends and work your way through to the roots.
What type of comb you use is also very important in the untangling process. Make sure that you use a comb that has wide teeth that are softly rounded. Such a comb will allow hair to pass through easier preventing more knots from being formed. Help your comb by also using your fingers to untangle tougher strands of hair that have become entwined. Lastly, using a detangler product or applying a leave-in conditioner will also help the comb slide with greater ease through your tresses.
