A hot sizzling trend of the season is a nude lip. You might feel that matching your lip color to your skin tone will look weird or boring. However, au contraire that is when the real magic and dramatics begin!

This classy look when done properly draws just as much attention as a bolder more boisterous shade would. Be very careful to make sure all dead skin as well as flakes have been removed prior to lip tint application. Failure to do so could result in the final result looking like your lips are bumpy and that is so not cute. This trend gives off a very natural and sophisticated vibe.

This is even true in the methods that you use to remove your makeup. We all do it in different ways and there is not necessarily a wrong procedure. Nevertheless, coconut oil is an all natural method that can yield great results. If you prefer the solid version, simply take a small amount and swipe it where necessary to remove your makeup. Or use a cotton ball that has been moistened with the coconut oil to perform the removal. Either way you will be able remove your cosmetics as well as provide great moisture for your skin.

We heard this one and had to take a spritz in honor of the lovely Nia Long! Nia has become the first African American spokesperson for White Diamonds, the wildly popular fragrance made famous by Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor. Long has been a fixture in film both in front as well as behind the camera. Talented, beautiful and now leaving she is leaving her mark in the beauty world as well.

Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds perfume not only made women feel strong and sexy, but helped a good cause. While alive proceeds from the White Diamonds fragrance benefited the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Congratulations Nia and to quote Rihanna, “Shine bright like a diamond!”

Late Night Beauty Call: Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has made quite a stir with the release of her cover art for her forthcoming album which drops on July 28. Fans and beauty enthusiasts have been noticing Nicki’s style changes over the past few months. Gone are the colorful locks, one of a kid outfits, dramatic eye as well as lip tints. In their place Minaj has been serving up a big dose of natural beauty, which is why we have dialed her up!

Although we enjoyed seeing Nicki’s risk-taking looks we are enjoying her more subdued makeup. She’s a gorgeous woman who truly doesn’t need any extra bells and whistles to look fabulous. We wish we could have this Moment For Life and talk about Nicki all night, but our call has come to an end. We think the beauty lesson for tonight is that less is more.
