Fashionable Mention: Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2015 Shoes

Fashionable Mention Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2015 Shoes

Beginning this week on the 1966 Magazine youtube channel (be sure to follow us 😉 you’ll love it) we will be rolling out videos ranging from fashion to travel. Being obsessed with dressing up our two buddies downstairs that we walk on daily, one such video series P.O.V. aka Point of View will showcase some of our favorite heels from our very own closets. Until you get to see those here is a fashionable mention to tie you over!

For their summer collection Saint Laurent is rolling out strong in the shoe scene with platform heels. We constantly rave on here about platforms because unlike other heel styles, platforms are very comfortable. They may be higher than a skyscraper but the fear stops there, you gain the height without out all the pain fright. Saint Laurent freshened up the platform look with 3-D embellishments such as bows, stars, studs as well as prints and saucy color.

Fashion Quote May 15th 2015 Roman Coppola

“I like things that are hand made- but personally for a man, I’m not interested in fashion that evolves with time. I like things to be the same. For a woman I think it’s fantastic to have things that are different- it’s like a flower where every season there’s some new exotic bloom.”

Zoe Kravitz wowed onlookers in a sheer silver Alexander Wang dress as she walked the red carpet for the 2015 Met Ball. Kravitz was in good company during the night for both of her parents (Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet) were in attendance and Kravitz enjoyed the night alongside her pal Miley Cyrus.

Actress Kerry Washington hit the red carpet yesterday evening in a pink flowing gown fit for a princess. Her Prada attire was adorned with green accessories, a clutch as well as heels. Looks like Washington was truly the Belle of the Ball.

Here’s a few more views of Kerry’s pink Prada gown:

The Met Ball 2015: Purple and Blue

The Met Ball 2015 Purple and Blue4

Celebrities always aim to bring their “A” game for The Met Ball, one of the biggest fashion events of the year. The theme for this year’s gala was “China: Through The Looking Glass.” Starlets and gentlemen arrived to showcase their take and perspective on the night’s theme through their own personal style. Color seemed to be a the way to go and we noticed purple and blues were repeatedly spotted.

Malaika Firth Vogue Japan May 2015 Editorial

Malaika Firth Vogue Japan May 2015 Editorial

This has to be one of the dopest, sickest and immaculate editorials seen thus far for 2015. Firth always brings it in every shoot and this editorial was not any different as she modeled bold prints, florals, crowns and intense gold attire. The makeup for the editorial is exotic, strong and exquisite. Malaika literally looks like doll that any young girl would want to snatch off a shelf.

Hair Notes: Those baby hairs though! Baby hair is still a major hair trend and for this editorial we loved the combo with the braids as well as enormous head bands.

Fashion Quote April 24th 2015

Fashion Quote April 24th 2015 Nina Garcia-Jourdan Dunn

“If you look back in history of the women who are most memorable and most stylish, they were never the followers of fashion. They were the ones who were unique in their style, breakers of the rules. They were authentic, genuine, original. They were not following the trends.”

-Nina Garcia
