Cardi B for W Mag The Art Issue -She’s Doing It For the ‘Kulture’

She’s one of the biggest entities in the hip hop world, yet this superstar has one focus… her daughter. In her very first interview since giving birth to her daughter, Kulture, Cardi shows the world a much different side then often projected in mainstream media. Inside the Cardi B for W Mag The Art Issue the gorgeous star opens up about motherhood, her man, the ‘Queen of rap’ and much more.

Fashion Notes: For her W Mag cover Cardi wears a mesmerizing golden ensemble from luxury fashion label, Rodarte. More specifically, the design is from the couture brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection which was presented at NYFW (New York Fashion Week).

Yes, she is still about making money moves. However, her motive behind getting coins has changed quite a bit. In a statement to give W readers a preview of their new edition, the journal revealed,

“Beguiling. Bawdy. Battle-Ready. Hot new mom Belcalis Almanzar aka Cardi B; became hip hop’s fiercest female rapper on the cover of our annual Art issue. [Therefore] meet another side of Cardi B as the breakout star opens up about pregnancy, marriage, Nicki Minaj and more in her first interview since giving birth to daughter Kulture.”

Diane Solway who had the honor of sitting down with Cardi B for her exclusive with W Mag; filled us in with a few more details regarding Cardi’s new interview. Recapping her time spent and discussion with Cardi Diane states,

“Cardi B covers W Mag new Art issue. In my cover story and her first interview since the birth of Kulture; her daughter with husband, Offset; Cardi B talks about reconciling being “that [chick]” with being a new mama and hip hop’s fiercest female rapper.

‘My baby. That’s all I give a [care] about right now,’ she told me. ‘I’m thinking about how my money’s going to last so this girl is 21 and put in college. I’m thinking about investments. [Also] thinking about five years from now and about the craziest [stuff] like; how am I going to discipline this girl?’

And they lived happily ever after! The Rodarte FW18 Portrait Series is a whimsical, enchanting visual display that seems to come right off the page of a fairytale. Florals, tulle, lace, ruffles, prints, sequins and frilly detailing dances ethereally against a magical garden backdrop.

Furthermore, in order to showcase their exquisite Fall/Winter couture, the Rodarte label decided to call upon a few of their favorite leading ladies. The luxury high-end brand says that they went out to recruit, “Women that inspire us.”

Therefore, who are a few of these inspiring women? The series features the amazing Tessa Thompson, singers Chloe and Halle as well as the powerful Danai Gurira! We have literally died and gone to fashion heaven!

Actress Tessa Thompson as well as the melodic Chloe and Halle recently excitedly told their fans what it meant to be apart of such a beautiful portrait series. The entertainers explained:

You Asked: OMG I am so in love with Tessa Thompson! She really won me over with her role in West World and now I can look forward to seeing her in Thor! Everything she is receiving, all of her blessings are so deserved. Tonight I was scrolling my feed and saw her looking like an angel!

Her dress is just takes my breath away. Please tell me who she is wearing, not too many are talking about her clothes just yet. Thanks always 1966!

Knitwear continues to dominate the season and we continue love every last variation of it! When someone mentions knits you instantly think sweaters, scarves or perhaps mittens. Yet, pants never seem to be quite on the radar. Nevertheless, Rodarte for their Spring/ Summer 2017 collection sent a very eye-catching pair of knit pants down the catwalk. Oh darlings, yes we dare!

Fashionable Mention: Knit Pants From Rodarte SS/17 Collection

We had to make these knit pants a fashionable mention due to three reasons. They showcase ingenuity, they are modern but they also possess a nice vintage and retro vibe. We love when designers infuse some throwback sparks into their fashions and this look was definitely a success.

The pants are actually apart of an entire set. The top and pant combo is a delicate and deliciously feminine ensemble of knits. The neutral color is very spring and makes it easy to pair as separates with other garments within your closet.

Nevertheless, our eyes immediately do a bulls-eye target on the pants and pants alone. We adore the length of these knit pants because they almost reach completely over the heels. With the sock and heel revival still going strong, this particular look plays into that trend somewhat.

Moreover, the flare detailing is beyond chic and give us 70’s glamour. It is a nice touch of flare without screaming for attention. Plus, these pants have a look and feel of leggings. Pair these knit pants with an oversized or loose shirt and dangling accessories and you are sure to be a major hit.
