New York Fashion Week: Fenty x Puma SS18 Runway Show

Hello Moto! Rihanna once again brought Fashion Week to it’s knees! We’re talking about flying motorcycles, a rolling pink obstacle catwalk and of course the flyest models in the game. The Fenty x Puma SS18 fashion show was an edgy fashionista’s dream.

The songstress turned fashion designer showcased a runway show inspired by the Moto X, extreme sports community. The fashions are certainly of the athleisure fold. A popular trend designed for making athletic wear more stylish to be worn in situations outside of workouts or athletic activities.

The show was very much RiRi-eqse, making it a cinch to see bits and pieces of her personal flair throughout. Puma obviously agreed. While showing highlights of the Fenty x Puma SS18 show the Puma brand says, “Introducing the new daredevil Fenty x Puma collection by Badgalriri (Rihanna). Making waves the only way Rihanna can. NYFW.”

Several pieces and garments caught our eye (i.e. tracksuits, hoodies, bodysuits and amazing outerwear). However, one element that could not be ignored is Rihanna’s fabulously designed shoes! Bold colors, interesting heel options, comfy slippers and thigh high sporty boots that are definitely made for walking slid their way down the catwalk. Furthermore, our personal favorite design is a flip flop converted into an ankle strap heel. It’s a laid back look with a certain je ne sais quoi that can not be ignored.

After the high energy show the lady of the hour briefly talked about her Fenty x Puma SS18 runway show. Miss Robyn Fenty says,

“When the X-Games come to fashion week. Thank you guys for making this show the best one yet! I feel like the coolest on the block now! Lol!

Shoutout to all my beautiful and talented models who absolutely murdered this show last night.”

So then, who were some of the models who stomped the catwalk yard? We loved seeing Joan Smalls, Slick Woods, Duckie Thot as well as Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adriana Lima. Now no fashion show is complete without celebrity fanfare. Therefore, who made their way out to NYFW in order to support Rihanna’s big night? We spied Pharrell Williams, Big Sean, Cardi B, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla Sign, A$ap Ferg, Offset and Dave East to name a few.

Nevertheless, the Fenty x Puma Cleated Creeper was apart of Rihanna’s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection. As you may recall the runway show for this collection took place in a school setting. Lockers, desks, the works. Actually a long desk was the catwalk. Therefore, this new creeper is the perfect shoe for school daze.

From our research we have seen a dollar range of $229 and up. One online store is even selling it for $750. However, the Stella McCartney website currently has a price tag of $383 for the top.

When you’re a supermodel you can wear just about anything and make people do a double take. Case in point Jourdan Dunn who slayed as hard as the actual models in Rihanna’s Paris fashion show. As if we needed more reasons to love RiRi’s Fenty x Puma Spring 2017 collection!

The front row is a an awesome collection of who’s-who’s. In a big blockbuster movie? Perfect here’s your seat. Number one album? Come on down! Instagram gold? Pfft, by now you on where your Gram famous little self shall be.

For this reason designer’s love inviting these famous trendsetters. Furthermore, to show just how cool they are they like to sit their well-known guests right where everyone can see.

Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma Spring 2017 runway was not any different. Several familiar faces were spotted. Including Jourdan Dunn, Doutzen Kroes and Sara Sampaio. We loved Dunn’s ensemble and overall look. The lace up bottom and top is beyond hot!

Plus, her hair and beauty looks were also fire. Jourdan rocked super sleek tresses and a sexy pronounced eye with full brows. Dunn did not come to play with any of us!

With another number one album under her belt, Rihanna continues to rule the music world. Her fashion prowess has not dimmed either, being that she just showed her Fenty x Puma collection during New York Fashion Week. As the Creative Director Rihanna has much influence in design. On the heels of her successive showing in NYFW comes news of a new shoe, Trainer by Fenty.

Anyone remember the Puma Creeper? Well, you might if you were able to get your hands on a pair. The Creeper sold out almost instantly and the shoe world is gearing up for another hit from the Fenty x Puma camp. In regards to the Trainer by Fenty, Puma took to Instagram stating that the shoe is,

“Designed to draw attention, push boundaries, and change the game. Designed by [Rihanna]. Introducing the Trainer by Fenty. Available 2.26.”

We always enjoy getting fan reactions to big announcements. We find it is a way to gauge potential success and get some realism on the subject at hand. Here is what people are saying about the Trainer by Fenty ad campaign:

“Talk about setting a trend.”

“Work work work!”

“Ugh why is she so dope.”

“I want these shoes.”

“We want the Creeper ones to be restocked!!”

Looking to take your shoe game to a whole other level? Then, it is time to look to the badgal herself for the pair of sporty sneaks that you are going to want to cop before the holiday rush. Rihanna can be seen flying high in PUMA’s latest release, the PUMA Eskiva.

Now we are only going to warn all the sneaker heads and kicks lovers out there once. If you want to get your hands on these bad boys you better put your bids in now. Remember Rihanna’s Creeper shoes sold out in just three hours! Of course, it is of note that the Eskiva is not a collaboration between Rihanna and the popular brand. Rihanna is a brand ambassador with creative director responsibilities, however, in this case Rihanna is just on modeling duty.

Nevertheless, everything that Rihanna seems to touch seems to sale. Therefore, do not sleep on the Eskivas or you may be watching your friends walking around in them instead.

Personally, we are fans of the Eskiva Hi design because of its more modern feel and look than the average sneaker. However, there is a Mid style for those who are feeling the Eskiva but prefer a more normal shoe height. Check out a few more photos below and be advised that the shoe is available for purchase.

She is an accomplished director, filmaker, artist, designer and basically Instagram royalty. Easy on the eyes and the very talented Vashtie has paired up with Puma to create a stylish collection for summer. The collection is inspired by the B-boy and NYC skate subcultures of the 80’s and 90’s. So think bombers, tanks, jerseys and gold detailing. The grittiness and edge of the collection was encapsulated by the shoot which took place around a downtown metro station in Manhattan.

The lookbook is chalk full for vibrant colors. It is to be released at Opening Ceremony this weekend.
