Streetstyle: Joan Smalls in NYC

Ever wonder how super-models choose to walk the streets fashion wise? Well, we spotted Joan Smalls in New York City posing it out during a quick photo shoot in Soho. The look was simple but very voguish thanks to sneakers, distressed denim and a white slightly tucked tee. Accessories were kept to a minimum with a chic watch and red fringe handbag.

Beauty Notes: Who says that you can’t or shouldn’t wear a dark lip during summer? Skip the makeup rules of lighter colors only during warmer months and wear a rebellious darker shade. Especially if you are wearing an edgy look like Joan the dark tint will add even more fierceness.

Joan’s look is a nice throwback to 90’s fashion that emerged from the grunge movement. So put on a little Nirvana (google if you must) and you will be sure to gain all the inspiration that you need!

Skin that is smooth and supple does not need to allude you just because the temperature is rising outside. Of course, it is a worry because exposure to such heat can lead to dry skin on various parts of the body. Many women notice dryness occurring with their hands, elbows and face. However, at times dry spots can begin popping up elsewhere when you are exposed to excess heat. Therefore, how can you maintain beautiful skin while having fun in the sun?

When it is not necessary to be out in the sun stay out of the heat. Moreover, when you are out having a good time wear loose fitting clothing in order to avoid becoming overheated. Above all, make sure that you are staying well hydrated at all cost! The body is mainly made up of water so keep it running properly as well as the biggest organ on your body (skin) healthy by gulping some quality H2O. Be sure to consume at least eight glasses of water to keep your skin lithe, soft and lustrous.

Zoe Kravitz Channels Her Mother Lisa Bonet

Zoe has been keeping busy with 3 new films, touring with her band and oh yeah, posing it out in major magazines! For her latest spread found in the June 2015 edition of GQ Zoe looks like a spitting image of her famous mother Lisa Bonet. Nevertheless, it is not her appearance that she wants the focus to be on, its more of her artistry and the stark change that has occurred in Hollywood. She says,

“It’s interesting that we’ve come to a place where people are expected to just do one thing… You used to have to be a triple threat to make it in Hollywood. Think about Gene Kelly and everyone. You used to have to sing, you used to have to dance. You were an entertainer.”

We have to agree with Zoe’s thoughts on Tinseltown, it does seem like the idea of being a triple threat died off many decades ago. Kravitz is taking everything in stride and just enjoying life as well as her latest projects. We loved RiRi’s entire ensemble from head-to-toe which included boots, “stunna” shades, handbag and a fab denim dress! Rihanna was in attendance for the Christian Dior Fall 2015 Tokyo Show. The singer even took a moment to snap a quick shot with the CEO of Dior, Sidney Toledano.

Hair Notes: Rihanna has never shied away from taking risks when it comes to her fashion choices or numerous hairstyles. Rihanna’s fiery red locks looked gorgeous styled into vintage waves and a deep side part. Looks like old Hollywood glam made its way across the pond to trendy Tokyo!
