Moreover, there are some cool, nifty little tricks as wel as hacks you can do in order to make your lashes and eyes REALLY pop. Today we are going to share one of these beauty gems with you. Read on in order to learn a simple and quick mascara tip that may change your lash enhancing techniques forever.

Heads Up… Quick Mascara Tip- It’s All In the Tilt Baby

With this tip approach things like you would hanging something on the wall. Depending on how you want things to look, YOU HAVE TO position things in the right way. Same thing with mascara everyone. Your head position is major key. Here are 3 ways to do it:

#1 When applying mascara you should aim to keep your head up; but with a slight tilt backwards. Lowering your chin will cause the mascara to go all over your lid and that’s a look all of us wish to avoid.

#2 Once again tilt your head backwards; yet this time widen your eyes. The extra space created will really allow you to push mascara into your lashes and coat them well. Plus, once again the tilt position will cut down on getting mascara everywhere.

#3 Lastly, yet again tilt your head back; but this time look down while you apply a light coat of mascara. Once finished move to the opposite eye and utilize the same technique. Go back in forth between eyes for a few layers until you achieve the desired look. The finish should be a nice natural, yet lengthy and voluminous pair of lashes.

Beauty Answer: It retires and goes to live a quiet life in the Bahamas, the end. If only our sense of humor had some truth to it in this regard but mascara doesn’t have such a fairy tale ending ladies. In fact, out of all the beauty products that you have in your possession, most likely your mascara will have the shortest shelf life. This means if you have had the same tube for awhile it may just be time to lay it to rest.

“Well, my mascara works just fine and I have had it for months!” We are sure there are some that feel that way but ponder on these next few facts. Mascara’s performance can be affected by outside temperatures so it is important to make sure your tube avoids extreme cold and heat. Moreover, over time mascara ingredients start to oxidize and degrade. Degradation means that compounds in the formula will break down and the product’s strength or intensity will fade.

Such degrading can lead to dried up formula and the causing of flakes. A look that you definitely do not want to rock in public. So then, how long should mascara be kept after purchase? Every three to four months your mascara should be tossed in favor of a newer one.

How to Apply “Coats” of Mascara

Beauty Quickie: There is right way and wrong way to layer on mascara. The right way will give you amazing lashes and the wrong way will give you a clumpy finish. When applying mascara layer on 1-3 coats but you should do it all at once before the first coat dries. If you wait till after the first coat dries you risk developing and causing clumps once you swipe on more mascara formula.

Mixing Mascara

Beauty Quickie: A simple trick to make eyes pop is by mixing two different mascaras together. Apply one coat of lengthening mascara then apply on top of that a coat of mascara formulated to add volume. Mixing these two mascaras together will make lashes look amazing.

2 Ways to Get Rid of Clumpy Mascara

This week we are blogging about mascara in order to help you apply like a pro! Some of our Beauty Quickies this week have touched on how to add volume or length to your lashes. Today, we want to share a few tricks to say goodbye to clumpy mascara forever.

Tip #1

Keep clumps at bay by sweeping a new, clean wand through lashes while they are wet. How can a new wand be used when the product only came with one? Buy some wands online or hit up your local Sephora that are sure to carry them. Keep in mind though at Sephora, beauty consultants will know them as “spoolies.”

Tip #2

Remove any excess mascara formula from the wand before application by wiping the wand on a tissue first. Yes, clumps can also be removed by combing through lashes with a lash comb. Nevertheless, if you are not a fan of using combs this tip will help you achieve the same outcome.

To get the most bang for your buck place the products wand right there the roots, not at the tips. Only applying mascara at the tips of strands will not give you the longer lash effect. It’s the mascara that is placed right at the roots that gives lashes the illusion of length.
