Badu’s accessories are already intensely bold yet her makeup simply complements her overall look without exerting dominance.

This year’s Pantone color after 6 months of use is still looking as ravishing as ever. Lighter purple shades are not just for fashions and eyeshadow makeup. Lilac lips are a major trend for this summer season.
From models during fashion week to actress Tika Sumpter and songstress Rihanna everyone is cashing in on this trend. This light and airy look is fresh, girly and radiant. It’s just enough of daring color so that you can dazzle onlookers. What we love most is that it looks amazing on a wide range of skin tones! So then, have some fun this season and update your pucker with lilac lip color.
Beauty Quickie: Going gray a little early? Indulging in the family of B vitamins could help to stave off those little silver pests a bit longer. How so? Vitamin B5 works to put gray locks in their place by contributing to melanin which is responsible for the tint or shade of your tresses. Therefore, consume some veggies as well as egg yolks and you can keep grays at bay.

Celebrity makeup artist, AJ Crimson, is the innovator and creator behind a new line of cosmetics that is set to become the makeup of makeup artists the world over. We recently had the privilege of attending a mixer hosted by AJ Crimson and the good people over at Beauty Frends in regards to the new brand. We were instantly blown away during Crimson’s makeup demonstration. Here’s why:
*BB Cream and Foundation shades literally cover ALL skin tones. Many lines make this claim, but AJ’s makeup is bar none in this area. Whether your skin tone is closer to Tyra Banks or Alek Wek you will find the tint that matches you perfectly.
*You don’t need a whole bunch of products to highlight, contour or add color to your eyes and cheeks. You can just use AJ’s foundations to achieve a “beat” face.
*Used to having to set your makeup before you can walk away from the mirror? This step is no longer necessary, just apply and go.
*The model during the demo had tattoos and Crimson’s foundation made them disappear, like POOF, gone. Even up close you would never think any tattoos had previously been there (see picture below). Just think what that means if you are needing to cover some sort of blemish or acne. It will literally disappear before your eyes.

Now here’s something that you normally don’t see in the realm of beauty. Noire tinted nails during the spring and summer seasons. Warmer months are usually characterized by lighter shades such as pastels and neon colors.
However, why not wear black during summer? Why must darker shades be relegated to the depths of wintertime? Well, the runway broke the mold this year as models were seen with various nail designs that included solid black nail polish. Personally, we love this rule breaking look it’s sassy, daring with a spoonful of mischievous fun. So then, never be afraid to dance to the beat of your own drum or paint your nails the color of your choosing. Seasons change, so why shouldn’t the rules of beauty also?

Of course, fun bold and bright graphic nail designs are all the rage in the beauty world as of late. However, less can be more while still looking chic and glamorous. Take the white out approach with your nails to give them a stylish makeover. Want to infuse a little more pizazz? Take things up a notch by rocking some nice pastel tinted nail colors to complete your look.
Beauty Tip:Achieve a set of mesmerizing eyes by simply applying blue mascara. After you apply your normal shade of mascara which for many is a black tint, go over it with a blue mascara. Adding a coat of blue mascara will not change your overall look to blue, however, the blue hues in your lashes will give the illusion of having sparkling white eyes.
Fashion week always lends itself to new trends and stylish looks for women to immolate all season long. At the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Show models looked cool in blue. Reminded us of the waves of the sea which is fitting for the upcoming warmer temperatures and beach trips. Therefore, if you like makeup looks that are dramatic, edgy, youthful and bound to make you the talk of the town. You should take a clue and give in to the blue.
