Chanel Iman is the cover girl for the Marie Claire Fashion UK May 2015 edition. In the fabulous editorial Iman models fashions by: Michael Kors, Chloe, Emporio Armani and Roberto Cavalli. Chanel seems to channel a modern Roman gladiator as she plays on a track field as well as on and below bleachers. If she really was competing, with the couture she showcases she would definitely be a winner in our book!

Hair Notes: We are seeing long braids in several editorials this year and we are loving them! Last year, skinny and down-to-there french braids were all the rage. Nevertheless, it seems that braids with a middle part is the new hot hairstyle of the year. Moreover, this hair look is a great protective hairstyle to grow hair and keep it strong.

“When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work. I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that’s a little off, but to make it me. I think that’s the thrill in fashion.”

Model Joan Smalls has been keeping super busy, she appears on the cover of Lucky magazine for the month of May and has a spring editorial in Vogue. Tabitha Simmons styled the editorial which was photographed by Cass Bird.
Beauty Notes: We loved the blue cat-eye that is a nice departure from the usual noire look.

“If you look back in history of the women who are most memorable and most stylish, they were never the followers of fashion. They were the ones who were unique in their style, breakers of the rules. They were authentic, genuine, original. They were not following the trends.”
-Nina Garcia

Toga! Toga! Toga! Versace is known for making men feel like high-ranking kings of the world through impeccable designs and tailoring. Nevertheless, what really caught our eye this season was the beach wear for men. The models coming down the runway embodied Greek Olympian strength and panache that made us want to go put a gold medal around their necks. The overall look may be a little much to translate into the streets but the opulence of the collection is still refreshing to see. Versace proves that swim wear for men can be in the words of Drake, “Fancy.”
The simplest way to get Bae to add a little more flavor to his wardrobe is by having him add a pop of color to his ensemble. It can be a simple addition that focuses more on his accessories than his main fashion pieces. For example, if he loves his kicks (shoes) or likes wearing hats help him punch those up by opting for more boisterous shades. Notice how these two NBA players are getting down with the pop of color. The added shades are noticeable yet not overbearing so that the whole outfit gets noticed. Make fashion even more fun for your dude by having him incorporate his favorite color or tint into the mix.
