The ad campaign for John Varvatos spring/summer 2015 collection has legendary written all over it. Jamaican brothers and sons of music phenomenon Bob Marley pose in set of stylish, visionary black and white photographs. The ad campaign starring Ziggy and Stephen Marley was captured by Danny Clinch.
Hair Notes: In the midst of recent comments made regarding dreads it is nice to see this style at the forefront of what is hip, cool and chic in fashion.

Just in case you forgot about the trends we mentioned last fall, for the next few weeks we will be reviewing the styles that we know you will want to wear this upcoming season! The Kaelen Spring 2015 Ready-To-Wear Collection included florals, stripes and everything nice. The collection stuck mostly with a creamy beige, neutral color scheme but deviated with a few print designed pieces in the nautical and botanical realm. This spring you can look stylish by wearing a one neutral color ensemble or punch it up with a print.
Spring will be here quicker than we know it and the revealing of winter toes will be upon us. We spotted stunning model Grace Bol working her stuff for the Rick Owens Faun SS15 collection. Bol looks sophisticated and statuesque as her hand delicately holds her dress and eyes peer deeply towards the camera. Grace adds a softness to the intricate design which encapsulates femininity with edge.
This was just too cool to pass up so we HAD to write about it. Legendary makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench is a chip off the old block (sorry we couldn’t help it LOL) and created Lego Masks for the Agi & Sam fashion show. Lego masks protruded from the model’s faces as they walked the catwalk with some masks simply outlining facial features while other Lego designs completely covered them. The designs were very fitting for the “Coolman” collection and we loved the ‘out of the box’ concept.
We have died and gone to sneaker heaven…and it’s a beautiful thing. We are currently obsessing over the Giuseppe Zanotti Chain Up London Sneakers because they are lush, plush and making us blush. Everyone else can keep their strings, these shoes are laced up with gold chains baby! Mr. T could eat his heart out over these sick sneakers and still not be satisfied. These shoes deserve their own selfie in the Sneaker Hall of Fame…which we have just decided to start due to these puppies. Therefore, in behalf of these stylish and uber cool shoes…welcome to the S.H.O.F.

Off with his fine fashion head! Okay, we retract that ruling only because of what these male models were adorned with for the Dolce & Gabbana Menswear Fall/Winter 2014 show. The fashions and accessories were medieval inspired channeling the Norman Kingdom of Sicily. We were especially blown away by the intricately designed accessories from gloves to shoes. We would love to get our paws on a pair of those jewel encrusted hand gloves that we believe is fit for any king OR queen.
Jason Ryan stole the show at last night’s Metropolitan Fashion Week and one thing is clear, Los Angeles is in love.
At the garden oasis of Greystone Mansion, guests sat in awe of Ryan’s monotone avant-garde collection. Opera singer Nicolette Holman opened the show with a haunting voice that perfectly represented the theme of Jason Ryan’s collection. The designer debuted 10 menswear and 7 womenswear pieces from his collection Resentment. Run. Evil.
In the dramatic presentation, all the models wore pale body suits covering them from head to toe and ornate headpieces that sat as crowns on their heads. All eyes were locked on the designs, and as the finale gown made its way down the runway the entire audience was under Jason Ryan’s spell.
As the favorite of Los Angeles fashion week, it is clear the designer has made his mark on the fashion community, and all doors are now open.
JASON RYAN features masterfully created ready-to-wear and avant-garde high end menswear. Each collection is highly stylized and driven by a strong central theme. The designs are known for their impeccable artistry and thoughtful embellishment.
Often full of high-drama, the meticulous detailing and innovative structures of the designs create an encompassing sensory experience. The current 2014 Holiday Collection, Resentment.Run.Evil, features several womens-wear pieces showcasing a feminine edge.
The Designer
Avant-garde menswear designer, Jason Ryan has rapidly gained attention as one of the most watched breakout designers of the season. His namesake brand, JASON RYAN debuted on the runway with his Fall 2014 Collection “Love, Corrida”–matador inspired menswear featuring heavy silk satins, metallic mesh, leather and fur.
Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Ryan studied at Pratt and FIT, before graduating with a BFA from American InterContinental University. The talented designer gained years of experience working for companies such as Disney, Bebe, and DreamWorks.

Metropolitan Fashion Week events are held in dramatic, non-traditional venues that showcase not just best fashion designers or costume designers, but the most beautiful venues each city has to offer.
Hair Notes: Rapunzel let down your hair! The jaw-dropping fashions of Jason Ryan’s collection were definitely the belle of the ball, but we couldn’t help but fall in love with the overall styling of the models. The lovely and dramatic hair was adorned with floral and rope detailing. The couture and the styling were simply divine!
Want more couture fashion? Here’s a fashion book we are absolutely crushing on right now: Saint Laurent Rive Gauche: Fashion Revolution. As any fashionista knows, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to launch the modern concept of luxury ready-to-wear clothing with a collection called Rive Gauche in 1966. Our favorite year 😉
Exploring Laurent’s progressive approach to fashion, Saint Laurent Rive Gauche highlights the cultural impact of the brand, especially its influence on women during the late 60s and 70s. Enjoy the book!
I will be the first to admit that I am a recovering addict when it comes to wearing couture designed with bows. I love them, rock them and always still want more. However, that is not the only reason this collection made me want to thank the shoe gods. I am also a fan of period piece films, not just for the romantic language usually exchanged between characters, but also for the exquisite and intricate fashions.
Manolo Blahnik’s shoe collection for this season seemed to have been created with ladies of the court in mind. My immediate thought was Marie Antionette would have owned every last pair and quite frankly, I wouldn’t blame her. Each shoe is a work of art, truly a masterpiece. The shoes are embellished with ruffles, baroque prints, satin, pendants, buttons as well as jewelry. The bold use of color also gives these ingenious stilettos a stronger eccentric and uniqueness.
Sometimes we find ourselves with just one too many essentials in our handbags. If you are tired of weighing yourself down or maybe have needed to invest in some massages as of late you may consider looking into a rolling Chanel handbag. For the autumn/winter collection Chanel designed a bag on wheels that is just as chic as any bag you would tote around town.
