Collection: Brandon Maxwell Spring 2016 Collection
Designer: Brandon Maxwell
Models Who Walked the Show: Riley montana, Ysaunny Brito, Herieth Paul, Ajak Deng and Leila Ndabirabe
On The Runway: Classy looks, classic suits, sharply tailored separates defines a powerful women and Maxwell spared know expense. The collection was so sexy and sultry that it shows showing less can be oh so attractive.
Models Who Walked the Show: Adau Mornyang, Lula Kenfe, Milan Dixon and Shamone Edwards.
On The Runway: Soooo. This collection was over the top, kooky and eccentric but in a strange way you just have to love it. To be able to put all these extremes together from the makeup to the two braids sticking straight in the air and yet still have the clothes do the talking is a true art-form. I could really see many people flocking to grab these pieces off the runway, you may dial it down a bit but the core designs are really solid in craftsmanship.
Models Who Walked the Show: Aamito Lagum, Maria Borges, Leomie Anderson, Marihenny Rivera, Herieth Paul and Yasmin Warsame
On The Runway: Artisan flare with eccentric menswear touch. Stripes, trousers and very loose fitting silhouettes which made since because their muse was the pioneering Australian visual artist Fiona Hall. And another running theme we keep seeing on the runway is effortless hair pulled back into messy low bun or hair slicked down pushed off the face.
Gold, jewels, feathers, masks and sheer garments is a win win in my book. Model Alecia Morais worked it for the Portuguese Soul F/W 2016 editorial. Alecia serves it rocking that smokey eye that never …
Aamito Lagum for Acne Resort 2016. Have you taken note of Acne’s accessory piece. Acne went back to the 90’s with the choker necklaces that looked like tattoos. Now this is a flashback every girl used to rock back in the day and thought they were super cool because you looked like you had this bad girl image.
However, Acne did class it up a bit by making the choker thicker and added other colors like gold and copper. Now seeing it paired with beautiful runway clothes it shows that you can take an old teeny-bopper classic from the 90’s add the perfect skirt to it or coat and you are now fashionable.
Our initial reaction to RiRi’s fashion statement at the Los Angeles premiere of animated film Home, was wow she looks like a doll! We are sure if a Rihanna doll made it’s way to the toy aisle Mattel would make a serious grip. We are talking Elmo level pandemonium people… then again that’s the everyday life of Rihanna right now.
RiRi hit the red carpet in a pink satin gown by Dior that made us want to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the 100 million time. Rihanna looked elegant, sophisticated and very old Hollywood glam. We love us some Rihanna whether her style is “badgal” or a conservative good girl.

We spotted stunning model Grace Bol working her stuff for the Rick Owens Faun SS15 collection. Bol looks sophisticated and statuesque as her hand delicately holds her dress and eyes peer deeply towards the camera. Grace adds a softness to the intricate design which encapsulates femininity with edge.
