Even in retirement numerous individuals still recognize Serena as being one of the legends of tennis. During her tenure on the court Williams won 39 total Grand Slam titles: 23 in singles, 14 in women’s doubles, and 2 in mixed doubles. She also holds 73 career singles titles, 23 career doubles titles, and 4 Olympic gold medals. Furthermore, due to her many achievements as an athlete; Serena Williams was recently honored with the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports in Northern Spain and met the royals.
It was an exciting day and Williams looked absolutely GORGEOUS! To receive her prestigious award Serena stunned in a sultry red frock. For the ceremony she turned heads in a rouge Gaurav Gupta design.

Williams took to social media platform, Instagram, to express her feelings and gratitude for this latest honor. She says, “Feeling deeply honored to receive the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports in Northern Spain. This award has been presented to so many remarkable individuals over the years, and to be recognized as part of that legacy is truly humbling. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on and off the court.”
To go along with Serena’s sentiments, Town and Country also explained the significance of the award Williams just received. The journal reveals,
“The award, presented by the heir to the Spanish throne Princess Leonor (also known as the Princess of Asturias), has gone to many notable figures over the years. Previous winners include Rafael Nadal (recently granted a noble title by the Spanish royal family), Eliud Kipchoge, Lindsey Vonn, and Carl Lewis.”
