It’s not a subject most women enjoy talking about, but the fact of the matter is that we are all aging and getting older. However, it doesn’t have to be a big deal or anything to get worked up about. One way to minimize the impact of aging is to scrutinize the way our makeup looks. What looked great on us in our 20’s may not look so hot in our 40’s. For instance, you may find that you need to wear a different type of foundation now than you did when you were younger. Also, wearing black eyeliner may cause your face to look harsher as well as accentuate any wrinkles you may have around your eyes. Using a softer color, like brown, can help soften your look and not draw attention to the wrinkles. You can age just like a fine wine if you keep your makeup up to date.

Champagne Anyone?
Champagne Anyone?
Eye shadow is great but we are sometimes hesitant to use certain colors on our eyes. Let’s face it, not every shade looks good on every person. However, there are certain eye shadow colors that look good on just about every skin tone or color. Our favorite all-purpose eye shadow color is shimmering champagne. It works well under the eyebrow bone, at the inner corners of your eyes and can even work on your cheekbones if you are in a tight spot. If you are a beauty connoisseur then you will want to make sure your makeup kit has some champagne in it, no long stemmed flutes are necessary.

We Don’t Mean to Make You Blush
Applying makeup is an art-form that takes time and effort to learn. One slip up in the application can ruin your entire look. One big area of concern is your blush. While blush is meant to enhance your features, too much of it could cause you to have a clownish appearance. When it comes to picking a blush you want to make sure the shade you choose complements your skin tone. Once you have the perfect shade of blush, it is imperative to ensure your lipstick and eye shadow all complement each other. If these elements don’t work together your makeup may end up looking harsh and over the top.

If you want to put on a pair of some cute, strappy sandals and prance around on the beach then we have one word for you. Exfoliate. Exfoliating is not just for your face, your feet need love too. The dead skin cells on your feet need to be sloughed off and replaced with skin that is radiant and fresh. To exfoliate your feet try mixing equal parts of sugar and olive oil and massage it into your feet. Then rinse with warm water and finish up with a good moisturizing cream. Now you’re ready to start prancing on that beach.
A Thick Sole Can Go a Long Way
High heeled shoes rock; they are sexy, stylish and make us feel glamorous. That is until we take them off the shelf and put them on our feet. Stilettos are great and look absolutely fabulous but if you want to save yourself some pain, consider high heels that are chunkier. They will support your feet much better than a stiletto and a thicker sole, like a platform shoe, will always provide more comfort than a thin sole. Thin soled shoes tend to inflict pain on the bottom of your foot so go for shoes with thick soles and rubber bottoms to help offset and absorb the pressure. Your feet will thank you!
