Beauty Quickie: Concealer is an excellent product to help fix eyes that look a little puffy. However, should you apply concealer that is lighter or darker to cover up any dark circles? Beauty experts recommend using a darker shade of concealer because darker colors recede. This means darker tints will make any bags look less pronounced.
Beauty Quickie: Some of the best makeup artists in the world will tell you that a few of your best makeup tools are found right on your own two hands…your fingers. Your fingers can apply makeup in ways that brushes and sponges can’t. However, when applying eye makeup you need to take a gentler approach due to the skin surrounding the eye being very delicate. When applying eye makeup with your fingers it is best to use your ring finger. This is because your ring finger uses less force than the rest of your fingers.
Being the glitter queen that I am I had to do a quick write up in the behalf of Zoya. I just wanted to thank them for understanding my need to sparkle and shine (LOL). Zoya has released a collection of glitter-tastic nail lacquers named Arianna (hey now! I’m Arianne), Oswin and Noir.
The mini collection’s colors fall in the red and plum families. I’m absolutely in love and can’t wait to add them all to my ever-growing nail polish collection. Want to get your hands on the Zoya Ultra PixieDust Fall 2014 Collection as well? Order yours now online by going to zoya.com. Happy painting!
Beauty Tip: Did you know that if you have chipped nails you can easily fix them with glitter? Just add a layer of glitter polish on top and the chipping will be disguised as a chic nail design. Shhhh…no one will know but you!
Beauty Quickie: Mascara and liquid eyeliner should be laid to rest after 3-4 months. Nevertheless, your entire makeup collection should be cleaned out at least once a year to remove any old products. Bacteria could be lurking in older cosmetic products and need to be thrown out. Even if there is some product left in the bottles, tubes or compacts it is better to just say goodbye. Skin irritation or breakouts are just not worth the risk.
Beauty Quickie: Red lip color is a beauty trend, but many women stay away from it because such a shade can be a little more boisterous than other tints. Therefore, how can you wear red lipstick without all the intensity? One way is to apply the red lip color (make sure it matches your skin’s undertone) then blot it off so that it is more of a lip stain. Another option would be to apply the lipstick with your finger instead of straight from the tube. This way you will be able to control how much product is applied, thus controlling the color as well.
Beauty Quickie: When doing your beauty shopping never be afraid to flip over a product to know what exactly is in it. If you want to look your best, you have to use the best. Unfortunately, not all cleansers are created equal and some will give your skin more assistance than others. If you are in the market for a skin cleanser because you are prone to acne then always look for a product that contains benzoyl peroxide or salycilic acid.
Don’t knock it until you try it! Avocados are another power hair food that can benefit your tresses in numerous ways. This week we have decided to write about a few foods that can be applied to your hair to help give it a powerful boost.
Here are just a few of the many benefits that can be derived from avocados:
Avocados contain oils that are very similar to the oils that our skin produces which is why the moisturize provided is so perfect for our tresses. This power hair food is also great for our curly/wavy hair girls who wish to gain a little more control of their strands. Since avocado smooths the hair shaft, frizz is decreased giving hair more manageability.
So then, how can this food be utilized on hair? Take a very ripe avocado and mash it up well in order to form a deep conditioning treatment. Apply the mashed avocado to your locks and let it sit for half an hour before rinsing. There you have it ladies, sometimes the best products are found in nature!
