Here is a prime example of chic done easy to the breezy. For a modern spring look pair a tailored jacket with capri pants and strappy heels. Comfort and sophistication is not hard to achieve making this look essential for the lady constantly on the move. Scared that you might look too stuffy? Worry not, that is where your hair comes into play. Keep the look more fresh and youthful by wearing a messy up-do. Remember everything does not have to be perfect in order for an ensemble to be simply perfection.
Forget the florals what’s really making fashion tongues wag is skin. Skin is always in but seems to be escalating to new heights. It is not enough to have a plunging neckline or high split skirt. Now it is all about sheer detailing to draw eyes in towards the physique. If we looked like model Cindy Bruna (pictured) we’d probably rock it too.

She’s been deemed the new face of beauty and it is not hard to see why! Gorgeous actress Lupita Nyong’o stars in Lancome’s 2015 spring/summer ad campaign which was styled by Julia Von Boehm. Lupita is joined in the ad campaign by fellow actresses Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz. Photography for the shoot was lensed by Mert and Marcus.
Be a dancing queen or solid gold Soul Train dancer this summer because the 70’s are back baby! If you have laid fashion eyes on the ad campaign for the S/S 2015 Emilio Pucci collection you no doubt observed the ad’s 70’s vibe. Not quite sure how to make the retro look work for you? Think boho-chic and a very free-spirited relaxed styling of your ensembles. Moreover, a quick look at the Emilio Pucci runway show should help get you started.
Hair Notes: The slight waves worn by models is giving us life baby! The easy, breezing and bouncy hairdo is the perfect hairstyle for this summer whether day or night.
In an instagram world where brows must be the epitome of perfection, Prada chose to go a little different route. Prada’s beauty look for spring/summer 2015 incorporated the disheveled brow. This unkempt look had emphasis more on just the outline of the brow instead of the full on cha-bang. The disheveled brow is like the beauty nod to the messy, bed-head look proving that you don’t always have to be absolutely perfect to be considered beautiful.

Fashion is truly an art and can convey strong emotions and the beauty behind the simplest or most intricate design. Wanted magazine’s editorial for June 2015 is a masterpiece of glamour and sophistication. Lucyanne Botham who did both the hair and makeup for the models created drama with bold makeup shades and the use of unusual accessories. The editorial was lensed by photographer Kevin Macintosh while in South Africa.
Ah…the good ol’ red carpet… the place where fashion dreams and moments go to live and sometimes die fatally. This year among the ladies black seemed to be a common theme and denominator. Also, playing into the equation was skin… cut-out dresses, mid-riff tops and plunging necklines all did their part to showcase some sex appeal. Who was your favorite dressed celebrity of the night? Fashion colors worn during the spring and summer seasons tend to be more boisterous and vibrant than other times of the year. If you want to get in on the color trend when it comes to shoes look no further than Nicholas Kirkwood’s collection for spring/summer 2015. Not only are the tints of the heels bold but they have a ginormous 3-tiered bow on the back. Between the pointed toe and a little bit of peek-a-boo in the front your feet are bound to look and feel like a princess.
Beginning this week on the 1966 Magazine youtube channel (be sure to follow us 😉 you’ll love it) we will be rolling out videos ranging from fashion to travel. Being obsessed with dressing up our two buddies downstairs that we walk on daily, one such video series P.O.V. aka Point of View will showcase some of our favorite heels from our very own closets. Until you get to see those here is a fashionable mention to tie you over!
For their summer collection Saint Laurent is rolling out strong in the shoe scene with platform heels. We constantly rave on here about platforms because unlike other heel styles, platforms are very comfortable. They may be higher than a skyscraper but the fear stops there, you gain the height without out all the pain fright. Saint Laurent freshened up the platform look with 3-D embellishments such as bows, stars, studs as well as prints and saucy color.
