Patricia Stephens “Debunking the YouTube Myths – Get The Facts”
There is so much confusing information on YouTube about caring for natural hair. You won’t believe some of the crazy advise I witnessed and heard on You Tube as it relates to natural hair care. Now everyone is an “Expert”. What works for one person may not work for you and some of what I have heard will not work for anyone.
In this class we will help you gain the knowledge of proper hair care in addition to correct product usage through instructional topic discussions and videos. Get the facts, learn the proper techniques, use the right products, and learn what to trust on YouTube and the Internet.
Dr. Meena Singh “Hair Loss and Breakage in African American Men and Women”
In this class, Dr. Singh will discuss how to identify, prevent, and manage the most common types of hair loss in both African American men and women. Understanding the differences in African American hair compared to other ethnicities is key to acknowledging and preventing hair breakage. These differences include variations on the shape, density, cuticle thickness, and formation of knots. The goal of the class is to educate both consumers and professionals on recognition, prevention, and management of both hair loss and breakage.
