ModCloth Nail Art Inspiration

1966 Magazine ModCloth Nail Art

Truth be told, I always get giddy when I see fashion and art collide.

This is especially so when I saw the beautiful nail art inspiration created by Nail Klub. I believe art and fashion do go hand and hand….no pun intended, so I took it upon myself to see if I could create a nail art inspiration from one of ModCloth’s fabulous dresses for summer.

Trust me ladies this was such a big feat. Why? Well, ModCloth has so many cute and flirty dresses that a girl just works up sweat from gazing at all these frilly summer dresses. However, I continued on for the sake of fashion.

So then, my inspiration came from the Humbly Haute Dress in Red. This dress and me, I do believe are meant to be… thank God we found each other. It’s that mixture of pin-up rockabilly vibe that I love plus when you add on the color red with polka dots whew it’s to hot to handle.

I created red and white polka dot nail art where there is an ombre effect from solid red to these bright shiny polka dots. It was so much fun trying to come up with a look that I feel that embodies this dress. Your thoughts, did I nail it? Just for fun check out ModCloths other dresses and see what you can come up with. We all would love to see your creations.

Editor’s Diary: Geometric Swimsuits

Editors Diary Geometric Swimsuits

It’s that time of year to take it all off and show the world what you are working with! Or at the very least show what you have been working out to get. How can you flaunt your fit and fabulous physique? Be the belle of the beach this season and slip into a one of a kind bikini.

However, why wear something that everyone else is likely to wear as well? I know you’re probably thinking, c’mon there’s only so many ways to wear a two piece. Feast your eyes on the geometric swimsuit. It’s sexy, fun and its unique design will definitely help you stand out from the summer fashion crowd. So then, what do you think? Are you a geometric swimsuit type of girl?

Fashion Tip: Take a look at that top, the design is perfect for those of us needing a little more support upstairs.

Make Your Summer Barbecues a Little Bit Healthier

Make Your Summer Barbecues a Little Bit Healthier

Barbecues are fun and usually have a lot of rich and fatty foods. You can make your barbecue healthier and still have fun with lots of great food.

If you’re going to have a creamy dip, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. If you are a guacamole lover, cut down on the fat from the avocado by mixing in another vegetable. A good add-in would be frozen peas, they keep the guacamole green while adding a little sweetness.

Trick your friends into eating their vegetables. You can replace the chips and dips with beautifully cut crudités. Try seasoning the raw vegetables with lime, salt and chili powder.  They look good, taste good and are perfectly healthy.

Salads are great but the lettuce tends to wilt so try making something like a Greek salad that doesn’t require lettuce and will hold up for the duration of a long barbecue. Also, use less cheese in the salad to cut down on the calories. Put the salad at the front of the serving table as your friends are more likely to put some on their plates. Plus it leaves less room for unhealthy options.
