Trust us, seven words… Saint Laurent 100 Lou 48mm Retro Sunglasses. Living here in sunny Los Angeles we are as tied to our sunglasses as we are our smartphones, In-N-Out or vegan food. You know whatever one floats your boat. We have our ways and our fashion choices fall in line with them. We wake up to the sun shining in our eyes and even after it sets our attiude reflects a pop song from the 80’s; we “wear our sunglasses at night.” It is a necessary part of life so we Californians pretty much consider ourselves to be Sunglasses-Connoisseurs. Whatever is fresh, modern and trendy we are most likely a credit card swipe away from sliding them over our peepers.

Therefore, what is cool look for this season? Studded fashions have been everywhere so far this year. Jackets, belts and shoe-wear have all received the studded touch. Now the lovely three-dimensional detailing have found their way on yet another chic accessory.

We spotted model, Ajak Deng, wearing a brand new design by YSL aka Saint Laurent in celebration of it finally being the weekend. She posted several pics of herself while relaxing at a spa wearing her designer shades stating, “happy Friyaaaayyyyy.” She wore a pair of studded black sunnies known as Saint Laurent 100 Lou 48mm Retro Sunglasses as previously mentioned. Fall 2015 Makeup: Very Red Lips

One trend that has seemed to be hot all year long has been red lip color. The sassy and bold tint has been seen everywhere from the red carpet to the runway. Therefore, if you are looking to be “in” for fall you may just need to shop your own makeup bag.

Red lip color was spotted on models at Bottega Veneta, Celine, Saint Laurent as well as Carolina Herrera to name a few. Deep red hues are gorgeous on brown skin, but if you would like to brighten things up then go for it! Red comes in several lovely shades so regardless how light or dark you want to go you will be able to find the perfect shade to fit your mood.

Moreover, the red lip color made for the Vanessa Seward show was also a stand out hue. While more shades of lip colors tend to come with moisturizers to add more shine sometimes a more matte shade can be just as dramatic. The matte lip color for Seward’s collection was gorgeous without needing any glistening effect. So then, if you prefer a more subdued red lip color look opt for a matte shade.

Fashionable Mention: Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2015 Shoes

Beginning this week on the 1966 Magazine youtube channel (be sure to follow us 😉 you’ll love it) we will be rolling out videos ranging from fashion to travel. Being obsessed with dressing up our two buddies downstairs that we walk on daily, one such video series P.O.V. aka Point of View will showcase some of our favorite heels from our very own closets. Until you get to see those here is a fashionable mention to tie you over!

For their summer collection Saint Laurent is rolling out strong in the shoe scene with platform heels. We constantly rave on here about platforms because unlike other heel styles, platforms are very comfortable. They may be higher than a skyscraper but the fear stops there, you gain the height without out all the pain fright. Saint Laurent freshened up the platform look with 3-D embellishments such as bows, stars, studs as well as prints and saucy color.

Nicki Minaj definitely fired some serious couture shots on the red carpet for the MTV VMAs! Minaj stunned in a leopard print dress by Saint Laurent which instantly became a fan hit. The mini dress was pure sophistication and Minaj’s Instagram followers rewarded the look with almost 300,000 likes in just 12 hours. Jada Pinkett Smith let her down as she attended the FOX 2014 Programming Presentation in New York City. From head to toe Jada looked like a masterpiece in an Alberta Ferrett Straw Fringe Dress accompanied with Nude Jane Calfskin Sandals by Saint Laurent. However, the glamour did not stop there! Mrs. Smith brought back her signature bob that nicely framed and brought out her facial features.
