Models Who Walked the Show: Amilna Estevão, Ysaunny Brito, Grace Bol andAamito Lagum
On The Runway: The Opening Ceremony S/S 2016 – NYFW collection looked like an art project gone right. It had a sort of collage feel to the clothes in where all the right pieces of fabric molded together to form a beautiful end result. There was a lot of black in this collection but it was offset with burnt orange, hues of cream and banana yellow.
On The Runway: This collection is all about business. A career driven woman who is the head of her company or making waves in the corporate world should flock to this. Its simple and chic with just enough detail that makes you feel like an individual yet still confident in showing your famine side in the office.
Models Who Walked the Show: Aamito Lagum, Maria Borges, Leomie Anderson, Marihenny Rivera, Herieth Paul and Yasmin Warsame
On The Runway: Artisan flare with eccentric menswear touch. Stripes, trousers and very loose fitting silhouettes which made since because their muse was the pioneering Australian visual artist Fiona Hall. And another running theme we keep seeing on the runway is effortless hair pulled back into messy low bun or hair slicked down pushed off the face.
Models Who Walked the Show: Selena Johnson, Mauza Antonio, Shamone Edwards, Lula Kenfe and Emely montero
On The Runway: Afrocentric 70s vibe looks like it will be going strong till next summer. Tanya though put an extra feminine darling flare to it which makes it palatable to wear on a day to day basis while not looking like you are wearing a costume.
Models Who Walked the Show: Lineisy Montero, Tami Williams, Anais Mali and Binx Walton.
On The Runway: Strong bold red lip with hair slicked back. A ladylike demure with a slight edge in the case of hemline and deep v-neck cuts in the camisole and light jackets.
Tell me you didn’t smile when you saw the See by Chloé S/S 2016 collection at NYFW. This collection is so cheerful and gleeful that you can’t help yourself from liking all the pieces that are featured. From the 70s style dresses to the white textured blouse and the camel overcoat we are giddy for joy to try them on now.
Cadet spring 2016 NYFW featured black models Mauza Antonio, Olivia Anakwe and Lula Kenfe. Earth tone colors was the signature for Cadet s/s16 collection. The models almost look ready for a safari in the outback. With the green buttoned down dress, or with the scarf tied around the neck, is perfect for when the dust starts kicking up. All and all a very clean collection with a clear point of view.
An explosion of color at Trina Turk S/S 2016 at NYFW was beautiful. I love bright colors on it really brightens up your mood and seeing this collection does just the thing. The collection features many prints and designs that add even more character to her signature pieces.
Zac Posen SS16 NYFW Show in Partnership with Google Made With Code was brilliant. Models Leomie Anderson and Mari Agory walked for Mr. Posen and killed it. But the finale piece really stole the show. …
