You Asked: Finally some news about us curvy girls! I have always loved Octavia Spencer but she really came out on top with Hidden Figures! I wish she could get more attention but she got mine in that red dress. Who is it by? She looks great! And bless you 1966 you guys are doing such a great job. One my favorite mags!

The Verdict: Well thank you so much and we are so happy to hear that you enjoy our content! Moreover, we too loved Spencer in Hidden Figures as well as her ensemble for the 2017 Venice Film Festival. For the red carpet event Octavia wore a design from the Tadashi Shoji Fall 2017 RTW (Ready to Wear) collection.

However, Octavia’s look for the festival was customized. We actually love both versions of this rouge look. Nevertheless, unlike the original catwalk design, Octavia’s custom garment includes a chic peplum style that added a nice sophisticated touch and really showcased her beautiful curves!

Tonight at the 2017 NAACP Image Awards the film Hidden Figures took home the award for Outstanding Motion Picture! Hidden Figures is by far one of the best movies of 2017 if not the entire decade. It has grossed over 100 million dollars in the U.S. box office alone and is now also the highest grossing Oscar nominated film. Therefore, much love and congrats to Octavia Spencer, Taraji P. Henson and Janelle Monae!

Eyeballs in your hair? Talk about staying woke and then some! Janelle Monae showcased her new “eye-conic” hairdo during her press tour for the film Hidden Figures. Monae hit up the Jimmy Fallon as well as AOL Build circuit in order to discuss her new historic movie. While all wanted to know about her role and the movie, no one could take their eyes off the eyes!

Octavia Spencer who stars alongside Monae even commented about the eyeball hairstyle stating, “Janelle Monae love this so much. Keep all eyes open lol.” Fans also poured in love telling Monae how creative she is and that her look gave them life.

Yes, Monae is creative and so is the stylist behind this hair look. Nikki Nelms is a celebrity hair stylist to Monae, Solange, Kelly Rowland, Zoe Kravitz and a plethora of other famous dolls. She knows how to create a moment for each of her clients that will have us all talking. In regards to her googly eye hair design for Janelle, Nelms just said its, “Eye-conic… Honestly… Truly.” We can’t agree more.
