We almost made this a Get Your Man Right feature but we found that there were just too many looks that we liked to narrow it down to just one. From the insanely cool patterns, polka dots, accessories and outerwear this collection is laid back chic at its finest. Any guy wearing this brand will look good effortlessly.
For today’s Get Your Man Right we pulled a look from the Umit Benan Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. As you notice it has a clean preppy style to it but is a step up from “Carlton of Fresh Prince of Bel Air” to more of Will Smith’s character’s style thanks to the added color in the sweater, pushed up sleeves and backwards hat. If your boy enjoys dressing in a little more upscale fashion but doesn’t want to lose his cool this is the perfect ensemble for him.
As we sip our coffees all of us here at 1966 had to agree that is never too early for a little eye candy! One of Oklahoma City Thunder’s finest players stars in True Religion’s Spring/Summer 2015 ad campaign. We’ll gladly gaze upon Westbrook in tight pants while flexing for the camera any day.
True Religion’s chief executive officer David Conn spoke on the brand’s move to cast someone from the sports realm for their ad campaign. He explained that the “influence of sports on fashion has increased dramatically. Working with a pro athlete was a natural for us. A lot of players shop in our stores, and Russell is as well known for what he does on the court as what he wears at the press conference after the game.”
What do you think of Russell Westbrook’s new ad for True Religion and should sports as well as fashion continue to be married together? Talk all things fashion with us on our Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr or tweet us @1966magazine.
Last night, the men made sure to make some fashion statements of their own. Most seemed to fall into the one of three color categories: black, blue or gray. To us there is nothing better than a man who knows how to dress, so then enough talking on our part feast your eyes on a little male eye candy, we mean fashion (wink, wink).
As the wise man/woman always says, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.” This year travel the world and go to places you never thought you would see with the naked eye; just whatever you do for the love of everything holy in fashion do not leave home without your Coach bag! The spring/summer 2015 collection for Coach has an array of bags perfect for men and women. So then, grab one up and then go make your dreams come true.
Fashion Thoughts: Okay so the man in your life hated the man purse you bought him aka messenger bag. While this chic accessory looks amazing let’s be honest not every guy in the world is going to be down. Investing in a stylish backpack for your favorite guy is a great alternative option to suit his needs. He’ll easily be able to tote his man essentials and still feel like himself doing it.
This was just too cool to pass up so we HAD to write about it. Legendary makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench is a chip off the old block (sorry we couldn’t help it LOL) and created Lego Masks for the Agi & Sam fashion show. Lego masks protruded from the model’s faces as they walked the catwalk with some masks simply outlining facial features while other Lego designs completely covered them. The designs were very fitting for the “Coolman” collection and we loved the ‘out of the box’ concept.
Alright, alright, alright, alrighttttttt! Major props and accolades for the Oliver Spencer Fall/Winter 2015 Collection. The couture found in this runway show is relaxed chic at its finest. From the use of fabrics including lambswool and cashmere to the slightly over-sized fits everything looked tailored yet unrestrained. The looks are for the guy who’s confident, collected and nonchalant. We loved the bold suits, bomber jackets as well as cropped trousers. Wonderful fashions from start to finish and congratulations on an amazing show!
London has been set ablaze with fiery hot menswear fashion shows. Besides all of the male eye candy the couture is getting us just as warm under our stylish collars. The Nasir Mazhar Autumn/Winter 2015 collection gave us a slight late 90’s vibe when hip hop artists were wearing those puffed up, shiny ensembles. If you don’t remember or were not alive slide on over to google and look up Diddy as well as Mase then get back to us. The fashions were very bold and in your face, so if your man loves to be seen he will love this collection. One of our favorite pieces from the collection were a pair of green and black sporty looking pants. They looked comfy but had really neat panel detailing that gave them a cool flair.
Designer Marjan Pejoski has probably one of the freshest views when it comes to menswear for the winter season. His monochromatic graffiti couture was inspired by his obsession with India. From the Himalayas to the HIndu spirtiual background of the region’s culture, Pejoski used every aspect to breathe ingenuity into his designs. The overall styling was also enhanced by the models faces being covered in “ash” in order to resemble black and white photographs. It’s always nice to see creativity and out of the box thinking in fashion so this collection is definitely worthy of a fashionable mention.
