Make way for the forever First Lady! Netflix Becoming will be dropping THIS MONTH and will detail an in-depth look on how Michelle Obama metamorphosed into the jewel of a woman she is now! Therefore, when does it air? Plus, what can viewers expect to see?

Becoming is a brilliant film based on Obama’s 2018 New York Times Best-Seller memoir which bares the exact title. Back in 2018 Michelle’s book sold off the shelves faster than one could say, “The Most Educated First Lady in History.” The memoir went on to sell 10 million copies and still stands as the bestselling hardcover book of 2018.

With that type of interest; there is no wonder that Netflix jumped at the opportunity to release a documentary. The Becoming film which premieres on May 6, stunningly captures the high points yet painful as well as distressing moments of prejudice and scrutiny that this impressive; powerful woman has unfortunately had to endure. Moments that no human should ever experience regardless of their background.

In a recent tweet, Michelle Obama herself helped tease the upcoming Netflix doc. Michelle stated,

“I’m excited to share that on May 6, Netflix will release BECOMING. The documentary is directed by Nadia Hallgren; and will share the stories of the amazing people I met after the release of my memoir. During this difficult time [due to Covid-19], I hope you’ll find some inspiration and joy in this film.”

As one can see, Michelle’s 34-city book tour had a profound effect not just on Obama, but others as well. Many were touched, moved by her story and now we are all able to tune into the journey. Nonetheless, what does Netflix have to say about the new film? Anymore details to be gleaned?

Well, to be honest Netflix is keeping things short and to the point. Perhaps in order not to give too much away. The streaming service reveals,

“Join former First Lady Michelle Obama in an intimate documentary looking at her life, hopes and connection with others as she tours with ‘Becoming.'”

Becoming is sure to be an amazing feature to watch and enjoy over and over! A motivating piece of work that is sure to fuel others to go out and be an even greater version of themselves!

“It’s impossible to single out one day, because there were so many good ones, but something that always made me feel good was being around children and young people. We made sure that kids — ordinary kids, not just the kids of a donor or a Congressman — had access to folks like Justin Timberlake; Janelle Monae; and Smokey Robinson talking about the doubts and struggles they fought through; giving their time to inspire young people.

I’d walk away from those events so hopeful. Who knows what dreams these kids could have for themselves after that!”

As one can see, while at the White House, the Obamas were kept extremely busy with various engagements. Nevertheless, what about now? Has things eased up? On how much rest she is able to get now, Michelle states,

“Thankfully, more (and it’s more regular). I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity that living in the White House afforded us; but it probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone that sometimes it was a real challenge to keep up with the pace.

We’d be launching an initiative, or crisscrossing the country for campaign events; or visiting a community that was hurting from a tornado or a senseless shooting –sometimes all in a two-or-three-day span. Then, on top of the demands of our schedules, I’d usually need to wake up long before Barack to get my hair and makeup done and dress for a public event.

I laugh about how easy it was for Barack to choose his wardrobe –tie or no tie? ‘What do you think, honey, should I roll up my sleeves?’ These days, I’m more in control of my time.”

We couldn’t agree with that statement more. Obama will go down as one of great First Ladies who truly resonated with “the people.” Always a class act and fighting for the good of the nation.

If you ever need to know how to drop the mic when it comes to style all you have to do is channel your inner Flotus! Michelle Obama attended her husband’s final State of the Union Address in an elegant yet boisterous tinted gown by Narciso Rodriguez.

As soon as Michelle Obama made her debut the fashion conscious took to social media discussing the tint of Obama’s ensemble. Some thought apricot but the Sleeveless Banded-Bodice Midi Dress was actually in Marigold. Good guesses though everyone!

Besides looking amazing on televisions across the country, Michelle Obama also put to rest a long held notion that she is not “known for her fashion influence.” Yeah… just let that thought sink in a little.

Nevertheless, the naysayers, haters and cynics were all silenced when news promptly spread that Michelle’s choice of dress had sold completely out! If you had wanted to get your hands on one sorry to tell ya, but some pretty lucky ladies beat us to the checkout cart.
